The research was experimental research and the design used was Pre Experimental with one group without control group and used one group pre-test post-test design only. The population of the study was the second grade students of SMAN 4 Mataram which consisted of one class (19 students). One class was chosen by using accidental sampling technique and the result was XI IPS 1. In collecting the data pre-test and post-test were done. And then, the data analyzed by using SPSS. The result of data analysis showed that t-test was 3.457 and t-table was 2.109, it means that t-test was higher than t-table as the level of significance level 0,05. It can be concluded that teaching self-assurance in speaking skill at SMAN 4 Mataram using talking chips produce much greater change in the students’ self-assurance in speaking. The aim of this research is to find out whether Categories Games is effective or not in teaching vocabulary to the second grade students of SMAN 1 Sikur. This research was True Experimental with posttest-only control design. The object of this research was second grade students of SMAN 1 Sikur. The total numbers of population were 150 students. The technique to take the sample was cluster random sampling, which took 40 students as the sample in this research. At the first time, the researcher gave Pre test to the experimental and control group. The second time, the researcher gave the treatment that used Categories Games in experimental group and Puzzle Game in control group, then the last, the researcher gave post test both of group. From the data is obtained, it found that T-test was 6,96 and t-table at significance level of 0,05 (95%) was 2,02. So it means that the score of t-test was higher than t-table (6,96 > 2.02). The alternate hypothesis (Ha), which used Categories Games in teaching vocabulary to the second grade of SMAN 1 Sikur was effective absolutely accepted. Meanwhile, the Null Hypothesis (Ho), which used Categories Games in teaching vocabulary to the second grade of SMAN 1 Sikur is not effective is absolutely rejected. This research was aimed to find out the effect of Verb Story game towards students’ motivation in learning grammar. The research was experimental research and the design that was used was post-test only design. The population of the study was the second grade students of MTs Aunul Ibad NW Beroro course which consisted of four classes. Two classes were chosen as the samples, those were MTs Aunul Ibad NW Beroro A Class as experimental group consisted of twenty four students and C Class as control group consisted twenty four students. They were chosen by using Simple Random Sampling technique. Experimental group was treated by Verb Story game and control group was treated by Verb Search game. The instrument that was used objective test and questionnaire in forms of multiple choices and matching word. Then, the scores were analyzed by using statistical analysis. It showed the mean score of experimental group was 73,16 while the mean score control group was 55,12 and the value of t (t test) = 3,537 was higher than the value of  (t table) = 2, 013 at the significance level of 5% and the number of degree freedom (46). Therefore, according to the result of the analysis, it can be concluded that it can be concluded that the use of verb story game is effective in learning grammar at second grade students of MTs Aunul Ibad NW Beroro and the result correlation between students’ motivation and grammar, it shows r-test (0,993) > r-table (0,404). Based on the result of the study, it can be conclude there is correlation between students’ motivation and grammar is accepted. In other word, alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected.

This research was aimed to find out the effect of word mapping strategy in students’ vocabulary mastery. The research was experimental research. The population was the second-grade students of SMP Islam Al-Azhar NW Kayangan which consisted of two classes (60 students). This research used total sampling technique to select the samples VIII.1 class (30 students) as the experimental group and VIII.2 class (30 students) as the control group. This research applied word mapping strategy at experimental group and word wall strategy at control group as treatment. In treatment process, the researchers found that the students were interested when the teacher applied word mapping strategy. The teacher was not only focused on the material but also guided the students to be more interactive in teaching and learning process. To analyze the data, the researchers used descriptive and inferential statistics. The result of data analysis showed that t-test 7.171 with t-table 1.672at the level of significance 0.50, it was shown that t-test was higher than t-table. On the other words, the hypothesis was accepted.

The researcher aims at finding out the effectiveness of using short storyin improving students’ verbal vocabulary mastery. The subject of the research was the second grade students of SMAN 2 Bulukumba. In collecting the data, this research used pre-test and post-test. The type of this research was quantitative with quasi-experimental design. It was applied with two group’s pre-test and post-test design. The population of this study is 215 students from the second grade students of SMAN 2 Bulukumba. This study is quantitative research with quasi experimental design by using 27 students in control class and 30 students in experimental class. This is proved by figure of means group, the standard deviation and value of t-test  which revealed that the mean score of experimental group is higher than the mean score of control group. The result in t-test of experimental class is higher than  t-table. It  showed that t-table 1, 25>t-table at significance level 2,0 and 12,89> 2.045 t-table at 0,05 (98%). It means that using short story  was more effective in improving  students’ verbal vocabulary mastery at the second grade students of SMAN 2 Bulukumba.

The population of this research consist of 55 students, and the sample is 29 for experimental group while 26 for control group. The technique of collecting data was used definition for experimental group and matching word with antonym for control group. The data was collected by using post-test only and the data was analyzed by t-test formula. Based on data analysis the mean score of experimental group was 76,4 and control group was 69,23, beside of that standard deviation for experimental group was 114,28 and for control group was 113,09 and the value of t-test was 2,44 and t-table was 2,000. Degree of freedom is 53 with significant level 0,05. It means that the value of t-test was higher than t-table (t-test ˃ t-table). The alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. Thus, the conclusion of this research was there was an effect of definition toward students’ vocabulary mastery: an experimental study at the second grade students of MTs NW Haqqul Yaqin Sayang-sayang.
