This study aims to obtain objective descriptions related to the problematics of learning to write short stories in grade VII at SMP Negeri 5 Malang and solutions that can be applied to overcome these problems. This study used a qualitative design with a descriptive approach. The research data is in the form of observations that have been made which are then analyzed. Based on the results of the analysis, it was obtained the conclusion of the problems that exist in the learning process of writing short stories text for class VII at SMP Negeri 5 Malang along with the solutions given to the teacher to overcome these problems.

Legitimacy of Balinese Customary Lawin Cultural Literature Works. This article talks about the legitimacy of Balinese customary law and the reinterpretation of the authors of Balinese customary law in cultural literary works. The source of research data comes from the collection of "Bunga Jepun" short stories by Fajar Arcana, "Mandi Api" by Aryantha Soethama, Novel "Tarian Bumi" by Oka Rusmini, and "Incest" by Wayan Artika. The research data was collected by the library study method and then analyzed based on a qualitative descriptive approach which has several mechanisms, namely reduction, presentation of data, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the legality of Balinese customary law in question in cultural literature is about the customary law of marriage, the law of inheritance, the law of neglect (exclusion), and the ritual law of malik sumpah. These customary laws become a polemic and are discussed in literary works because they are unable to provide justice for the people and tend to be discriminatory. Cohesion is very important in a discourse to combine sentences and between sentences. One of the elements that can be used as a measure of a discourse is cohesive or cannot be seen from the use of cohesion. The short story entitled Nasi Aking for Presidential Candidates by Manaf Maulana was chosen as the object of research because the text uses a lot of cohesion markers, both lexical and grammatical, so it is necessary to identify what types of cohesion exist. The results of the research will be used as a medium for learning discourse. The approach used in this research is a qualitative descriptive approach. The data source used is a short story with the title Nasi Aking for Presidential Candidates by Manaf Maulana. The research data are discourse texts which allegedly apply a certain type of cohesion. The technique used to collect data is the listening and note-taking technique. Data analysis in this study used the agih method. The results of this study show that there are several types of cohesion, such as lexical cohesion including reiteration and collocation, while grammatical cohesion includes conjunctions, substitutions, ellipsis, and references. Based on the description of the recapitulation table of the analysis of the entire paragraph, the most data that has been found from 25 sentence pairs in the short story "Nasi Aking for Presidential Candidates" by Manaf Maulana which was obtained from NOVA magazine edition: 1370/XXVII May 26 - June 2014 is, lexical cohesion which has relationship of repetition repetition of repetition is the same as exact.Keywords: Wacana, Lexical and Grammatical Cohesion, Short Stories, Learning Media

The Effect of using the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) learning model to determine the effect on learning outcomes using the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) learning process. This research is a quasi experimental research which consists of a control class and an experimental class. The control class uses the conventional learning model and the experimental class uses the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) learning model, conducted in the X MIPA 1 and X MIPA 2 in SMA Negeri 1 Rumbia. The research data were obtained from test sheets and observations at the end of each lesson. The average cognitive learning outcomes of the experimental class were 80% and the control class was 63,83%. The average psychomotor learning outcomes of the experimental class were 80,46% and the experimental class was 75%. The results showed that there was an influence of the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) learning model on the learning outcomes of students in learning biology. Kata Kunci : Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Instruction (PBI), Hasil, Belajar peserta didik

Writing skill is one of the skills that is difficult to learn because we have to know the correct sentence composition and also what we hear must be in accordance with what we write and therefore this skill is very important to learn. The objective of the research is to identify the sudents’ responses toward think talk write (TTW) strategy in teacihng writing skill. The research used descriptive qualitative design. The respondents of this research were eighth grade students of SMP Pasundan 1 Cimahi. The instrument of this research was questionnaire. The result of data analysis shows that students gave positive responses toward TTW strategy. The respondents agree that TTW strategy can increase students’ motivation, TTW Strategy can help students in improving their writing skill and TTW strategy can make teaching and learning process interesting. Keywords:  Writing, Think Talk Write (TTW) Strategy, Student’s Responses

The total potential for zakat profession is IDR. 139.07 trillion, or 59.5 percent of Rp's total national zakat potential. 233.8 trillion. Meanwhile, the realization only reached IDR. 3.9 trillion or 2.8%. This study aims to analyze the zakat profession from the sharia and regulatory dimensions. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach and literature study. The research data was obtained by collecting and reviewing previous research results that were relevant to the theme. The results showed that zakat profession from the sharia dimension is obliged to follow the text of the Alquran and the fatwas of the ulama to meet the ‘nisab’ limit. Meanwhile, on the regulatory side, professional zakat is comprehensive. It is indicated by the presence of regulations at the macro, meso, and micro levels. Thus, professional zakat has strong legitimacy and can encourage optimizing the collection and distribution of zakat.

This research was conducted to describe the results of the analysis of the implementation of IT-based learning at the Bunga Bangsa Kindergarten Islamic School Bekasi. This analysis includes understanding the concept of IT-based learning implemented at the Bunga Bangsa Islamic School Kindergarten, knowing the obstacles in the implementation of IT-based learning at the Bunga Bangsa Kindergarten Islamic School Bekasi and describing the strategies carried out in implementing IT learning at the Bunga Bangsa Islamic School Kindergarten. This research was conducted for 3 months with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection is done by interviews, observation and analysis of documents in the form of curriculum documents, RPPH learning planning and assessment of children's learning outcomes and documentation of the use of IT tools used in learning. Data analysis begins by describing the findings of the study and then conducts an objective discussion with a theoretical approach. In this study, the learning process was described in the Bunga Bangsa Islamic School Kindergarten and the use of technological tools in various aspects of learning components such as media, learning resources and also as learning support. The learning process is more interesting and not monotonous, thus creating a fun and interactive atmosphere. The constraints found were that there was still a lack of teacher references to using IT tools in learning associated with activities in the theme and the lack of teachers' skills in using existing IT tools. Current efforts to overcome these obstacles are by providing various references in the form of videos, books and workshops on the use of IT in learning.

The purpose of this research is to find out the user's response to e-module based on android products to facilitate learning process. Likert scale with four variations of the answer was the scale used in this study. Research data were analyzed by quantitative descriptive. The result of the research showed that e-module based on android products have met the eligibility criteria with the category "very good" so it is worth to use. The data of the research showed that User’s response to e-module in this case teachers and students obtained “very good” category with the feasibility percentage of each are 84.38% and 81.67%.

In its teaching, literature undergoes a change in approach along with curriculum changes. This study aims to 1) describe the purpose of teaching literature in curriculum KTSP and K13 at the level of high school; 2) to describe the function of literary teaching in the curriculum of KTSP and K13 in SMA; and 3) to describe the literary teaching materials in the curriculum of KTSP and K13 at SMA level. This research is qualitative descriptive type. The research data is obtained from document archive, informant, and textbook of Indonesian KTSP and K13. Data validity is done by triangulation method and data triangulation. Data collection techniques are content analysis and structured interviews. Data were analyzed interactively. The results of this research are the purpose of teaching literature in KTSP and K13 at SMA level is that students are able to analyze and create literary works, as well as develop individual and social character through literary works. The function of literary teaching in KTSP and K13 is to make literary works as a means of achieving language skills. Third, the literary teaching materials in KTSP and K13 are short stories, poems, plays, novels, reviews.

Parents’ low participation in improving the quality of education is an interesting topic of study. This research aims to obtain data on parents’ participation in improving the quality of infrastructure and learning process in elementary schools. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach. Sources of data were the principal, teachers, and parents. Data collection techniques were observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the research findings, it can be discussed that parents already participated in improving educational infrastructure but not maximized. They donate funds and energy for school construction. While, in learning process, parents contribute to guide, to motivate, to supervise the children, and to facilitate all their needs in learning. Problems faced by parents in improving the quality of learning are lack of time in supervising the children to learn due to busy work and also the low level of parents’ education and income (education and economic factors).
