Based on the Experience of Cooperation of the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts with Cherkasy State Technological University: Twenty Years of Experience

The article considers and analyzes the historical events of the twenty-year cooperation of the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts with Cherkasy State Technological University. Practically all stages of formation of the Cherkasy School of Design in ChSTU are connected with the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts (KSADA): starting with the Agreement between Cherkasy Engineering and Technological Institute (ChETI) and Kharkiv Art and Industrial Institute on the establishment of a general technical faculty – in 1999 year, the creation of the Department of Design in 2002, the first graduation of bachelors in 2005, specialists – in 2007 and masters – in 2009, holding regional, national and international conferences in 2008, 2010, 2017, respectively. They are years of not only fruitful cooperation, but of constant gaining experience of teachers, associate professors and professors of the Department of Design of ChSTU on educational, methodical and scientific work in KSADA. Constant involvement of leading specialists of KSADA in educational and methodical work: conducting entrance examinations of the first set of students-designers, teaching professional disciplines, management of diploma projects, chairing of state examination commissions on defence of diploma projects of bachelors, specialists and masters. Separately, the author draws the reader’s attention to the essential role of KSADA in the training of scientific personnel. Postgraduate studies, doctoral studies, systematic work of the specialized council K 64.109.01 became the launching pad for dozens of candidates of art history of Ukraine. 57% of the teaching staff of the Department of Design of ChSTU, who have a scientific degree, were engaged in postgraduate studies or defended a PhD degree at KSADA. The experience of cooperation at the modern level demonstrates the benefits of cooperation of related schools not only for the development of regional design centres, but also the methodology of design education in Ukraine in general.

The report is based on the first results of the study "The History of the Evangelical Christians-Baptists in Ukraine", carried out in 1994-1996 by the joint efforts of the Department of Religious Studies at the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Odessa Theological Seminary of Evangelical Christian Baptists. A large-scale description and research of archival sources on the history of evangelical movements in our country gave the first experience of fruitful cooperation between secular and church researchers.

Summary Purpose: to determine the relationship between achievement motivation and the attitudes of schoolchildren of 11-17 years old and students of 18-21 years old to independent sports and passing control standards in the discipline \”Physical Education\”. Material: 1576 schoolchildren (boys n = 780 and girls n = 796) of comprehensive schools of Belgorod, Stary Oskol, Stroitel and Shebekino (Belgorod region, Russian Federation) and 246 students (men n = 127) were surveyed. and women n = 119) Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov (Belgorod, Russian Federation). The questionnaire consisted of three blocks of questions: the 1st block of questions - questions aimed at determining the age, sex, place of study of the respondent; 2nd block of questions - 8 questions, allowing to assess the attitude of the respondent to independent sports activities and the desire to take control standards of the discipline Y’Physical Education\”; 3rd block of questions is a test of 20 questions, developed by A.A. Rean, to assess the motivation to achieve success and avoid failures. Results: the motivation for avoiding failures was diagnosed in 5% male students and 10% female students. A direct correlation between achievement motivation and the attitude of schoolchildren and students towards independent sports activities and passing control standards has been revealed. Conclusions: there are no differences in the correlation between the relationship between achievement motivation and attitudes toward independent sports by gender. Schoolchildren and students with motivation to achieve regular self-exercise. Schoolchildren and students with a pronounced motivation for avoiding failures prefer a passive way of life. They do not want to pass standards on the discipline \”Physical Education\” and do not go in for sports on their own.

Our understanding of science itself as a body of knowledge and as asystem of analysis and research has changed over the last decades, just asover the last two centuries, or especially after the age of Enlightement inEurope, science has become more powerful, more sophisticated and complex.It is rather difficult to determine where science ends and where technologybegins. In fact there is a gmwing awareness that the physical or nam sciences,as a means of studying and understanding nature, are relying on the more“humanistic“ and cultural approaches adopted by the social sciences or thehumanities. The tradition of natural science is being challenged by newdiscoveries of the non-physical and non-natural sciences which go beyondthe physical world.Certainly research is vital for the growth and development of all sciencesthat attempt to discover and understand the “secrets” of nature. The validityof any scientific theory depends on its research and methodological premisesand even that-its proposition or theories (in the words of a leading cosmologistand theoretical physicist, Stephen Hawking) -is tentative. Hawlung says: “Anyphysical theory is always provisional, in the sense that it is only a hypothesis:you can never prove it. No matter how many times the results of experimentsagree with some theory, you can never be sure that the next time the resultwill not contradict the theory. On the other hand, you can disprove a theoryby finding even a single observation that disagrees with the predictions ofthe theory.”The history of Western science is rooted in the idea of finding the ’truth’by objectivity. Nothing can be believed until there is a scientific proof ofits existence, or until it can be logically accepted by the rational mind. The educational journey in postgraduate programs is linked to the actors, processes and results, setting the tone for different approaches from the perspective of characterization, development and evaluation. It is summarized in a sequential manner in four stages: entry to the program, progress within the program, and the final educational stretch, where the instructor/tutor plays an important part and obtaining the diploma or degree. The goal of this research was to evaluate, using the students’ perceptions, formative experiences as a result of their academic journey in postgraduate programs within education in Northern Mexico. We have used a case study based on the focus groups technique, applied to a sample of cases comprised of students enrolled in their final educational stage. The information was analyzed using inductive data analysis. The main results were grouped into three meta categories: (1) development of professional skills for the successful design of the intervention proposal, which unfolded into four categories; (2) the role of the tutor during the formative process, consisting of four analysis categories and (3) contributions of the teaching staff in their profession, consisting of two categories. These trends also evidence the formative abundance in the personal, academic and social training context of the students.

The “Warman Design and Build Competition”, running across Australasian Universities, is now in its 26th year in 2013. Presented in this paper is a brief history of the competition, documenting the objectives, yearly scenarios, key contributors and champion Universities since its beginning in 1988. Assuming the competition has reached the majority of mechanical and related discipline engineering students in that time, it is fair to say that this competition, as a vehicle of the National Committee on Engineering Design, has served to shape Australasian engineering education in an enduring way. The philosophy of the Warman Design and Build Competition and some of the challenges of running it are described in this perspective by its coordinator since 2003. In particular, the need is for the competition to work effectively across a wide range of student group ability. Not every group engaging with the competition will be competitive nationally, yet all should learn positively from the experience. Reported also in this paper is the collective feedback from the campus organizers in respect to their use of the competition as an educational experience in their classrooms. Each University participating uses the competition differently with respect to student assessment and the support students receive. However, all academic campus organizer responses suggest that the competition supports their own and their institutional learning objectives very well. While the project scenarios have varied widely over the years, the intent to challenge 2nd year university (predominantly mechanical) engineering students with an open-ended statement of requirements in a practical and experiential exercise has been a constant. Students are faced with understanding their opportunity and their client’s value system as expressed in a scoring algorithm. They are required to conceive, construct and demonstrate their device with limited prior knowledge and experience, and the learning outcomes clearly impact their appreciation for teamwork, leadership and product realization.

The essay was written to mark the 25th anniversary of the Slavic Institute named after Jan Stanislav SAS (Bratislava). The Institute was founded to conduct interdisciplinary research on the relationships of the Slovak language and culture with other Slavic languages and cultures, as well as to study the Slovak-Latin, Slovak-Hungarian, and Slovak-German cultural and linguistic interactions in ancient times and the Middle Ages. The article introduces the main milestones in the formation and development of the Institute, its employees, the directions of their scientific work, and their significant publications. The main areas of research of the Slavic Institute (initially the Slavic Cabinet) cover linguistics (lexicography, history of language), history, folklore, cultural studies, musicology, and textology. Much attention is paid to the annotated translation of foreign religious texts into Slovak. A valuable contribution of the Institute to Slavic Studies is the creation of a database of Cyrillic and Latin handwritten and printed texts related to the Byzantine-Slavic tradition in Slovakia.

Abstract The Archives of Photogrammetry, Cartography and Remote Sensing is a journal which, in the era of technological development of photogrammetry and remote sensing and changes related to cartography in the field of common digitization of sources and processing of spatial information in GIS environment, has been one of the most popular places for publishing articles in this field in Poland for years. Thirty volumes published throughout 25 years have provided nearly 1000 scientific articles and monographic studies summarizing the scientific work of several hundred authors from dozens of scientific institutions and production companies in Poland. This article is an attempt to summarize the achievements published in the journal in the field of bibliometric evaluation and statistical data of the publications from the time of the existence of this inter-association journal. The text quotes the history of the journal, indicates statistics on the number of articles, their citation with the most popular items, authors, reviewers. This evaluation was compared with other national and foreign journals.

The article is devoted to the history of foundation of University in Voronezh. The idea of establishing a regional university appeared since the beginning of  the 19th century. This issue had already been discussed by Voronezh  society and the educational community. Nevertheless, the implementation of  this idea became possible only in 1918 when the Russian teaching staff of  former Yuriev (Derpt) University was evacuated from Estonia to Russia. This  relocation was not a random event since Voronezh was an administrative,  economic and cultural centre of Black Earth Region of Russia. In the early  XIX it had been planned that it would be one of the Russian cities where the  universities should be open. In 1879 the newspaper Novoe vremya published the article “Voronezh University” where the author raised the  question of establishing a University. In 1907–1908 the idea was  substantiated by an eminent geographer P. Semenov- Tyan-Shansky. And  only in spring 1918, when Yuriev was occupied by Germans and the  professors of Yuriev University were looking for a new location, the question  was settled at the governmental level. In autumn 1918 the first lecture was  delivered and the history of Voronezh University began.

The article analyses the experience of organizing International Educational Exhibitions in Ukraine in 2016 – 2020. The essence of such concepts as "international educational exhibition", "international educational exhibition space", "facilitative support of professional development of research and teaching staff" is defined. The structural elements of the International Educational Exhibition and the stages of a higher educational institution participation in the exhibition activity (preparatory, direct participation, analysis of the achieved results) are considered. The authors of the article present systematized experience of facilitative support of professional development of research and teaching staff provided by specialists of the Department of Scientific Work of the State Institution of Higher Education "University of Educational Management" of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine in the process of preparing, holding and analysing results of International Educational Exhibitions, such as "Innovation in Modern Education", "Modern Educational Institutions", "Education and Career – Student's Day", "Education and Career". The types of organizational and coordination activities are determined, a detailed list of actions of the process of facilitative support by the specialists of the Department of Scientific Work of research and teaching staff as exhibitors and visitors of the exhibition is presented. Methodical structuring and algorithmizing of types of organizational and coordination activities and a detailed list of actions of the facilitation process are described in the following stages: 1) preparation of research and teaching staff (exhibitors and visitors) to participate in International Educational Exhibitions; 2) direct participation of research and teaching staff (exhibitors and visitors) in the International Educational Exhibitions; 3) analysis of the results of participation of research and teaching staff (exhibitors and visitors) in International Educational Exhibitions. The authors have created a classification of events of the International Educational Exhibition according to the congress, competition and exponential components. Statistics of the number of planned and conducted events within the International Educational Exhibition activities in Ukraine in 2016 – 2020 are presented. Emphasis is placed on changing the form of exhibitions from offline to online format due to the COVID–19 pandemic and lockdown (quarantine restrictions) in 2020. Recommendations for higher educational institutions to maintain an integrated information base of exhibition educational activities with detailed information on the activities within the exponential, competitive and congress programs of the exhibition.

The main subject of this research are doctoral studies of Bishop Irinej Ciric in Vienna at the Faculty for Philosophy (department for oriental studies and semitic phylology) from 1906 to 1908, as a contribution to the history of formation of the Serbian Old Testament biblical studies. Having in mind that the course of the highest academic education of one of the most renowned Serbian biblical scholars has not been a subject of the inquiry, this paper will analyze the documents from the Archive and the Library of Vienna University which present curriculum of subjects, notes on the rigorous exams at the and of the promotion and review of his doctoral dissertation. Special attention is dedicated to the analysis of content and to the literary-historical criticism as the main methodological framework of his dissertation. The paper will present some of his most influential teachers as well as the broader historical and academic context of studying in the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the beginning of the 20th century. The aim of this research is to give insight into the implementation and transmission of academic patterns acquired in Vienna into the developing the Serbian Old Testament studies and further impact on its formation.
