On the basis of balancing rations of cows taking into account daily yields, additives, quality of volume feed, as well as the cost of rations, the economic efficiency of the complex of feed additives is deter-mined. The observations were carried out in farm in the Tver region, the Agrofirm Dmitrova Gora JSC. The branch, where the research was carried out, includes several sites for milk production and cultivation of young cattle. From lactating cows Holstein breed expect to receive the maximum amount of dairy products, both for lactation, and for the entire life of use. But the expectation should be active, the animal should be properly prepared for the physiologically stressful period of milk formation. Based on the re-sults, it can be stated that the volume feed in the farm, which breeds highly productive Holstein cattle, should be the 1 and 2 class. The additional cost of a complete balance of the diet while increasing the dai-ly yield from 17 kg to 39 kg using a set of feed additives pays off, reducing the total cost of feed in the calculation by 1 kg of milk received and increasing feed payment by 88.1%.

Scientific researches have been proved that a more complete disclosure of the productive potential of farm animals is possible when they use a full range of different feed, vitamins, premixes and different feed additives. Currently, all these components are given to animals in the form of a compound feed, the preparation of which is carried out in crumbled or pelletized form. Preference is given to pelletized feed, because it has great advantages over crumbled feed. It has been noted that when feeding young cattle with pelletized feed the average daily of live weight has increased by 6,1 % than when feeding with crumbled feed. When feeding piglets with pelletized feed the increase was 8,2 % more. Feeding fur-bearing animals with dry pelletized feed can increase economic efficiency by reducing the cost of the diet by 1,44 times. The results of testing the equipment of LLC “Doza-Agro” for the production of pelletized feed in terms of its quality have been presented in the article. Evaluationof the workflow of the equipment has been carried out as part of the compound feed plant series “Profi ” located in the village Sultan-Saly in the Rostov region. The description of the compound feed plant and its elements has been given, the methods according to which the research was carried out have been described, and the laboratory equipment for determining the quality indicators of the feed has been presented. The quality of macronutrients grinding feed crusher DZM-6, the quality of mixing feed elements in the mixer SLG-2A and the quality of feed pellets obtained in the granulator DG-10Nhas been evaluated. Comparison of the obtained data with the values prescribed in the GOSTs has been shown compliance of the prepared granules with the requirements of standards.

Seismic acquisition has undergone a revolution over the last few decades. The volume of data acquired has increased exponentially, and the quality of seismic images obtained has improved tremendously. While the total cost of acquiring a seismic survey has increased, the cost per trace has dropped precipitously. Land surveys have evolved from sparse 2D lines acquired with a few dozen receivers to densely sampled 3D multiazimuth surveys. Marine surveys that once may have consisted of a small boat pulling a single cable have evolved to large streamer vessels pulling multiple cables and air-gun arrays and to ocean-bottom detectors that require significant fleets to place the detectors, shoot the sources, and provide support. These surveys collect data that are wide azimuth and typically fairly well sampled.

This work studied the effect of dairy cow ration supplementation with inorganic plus organic Se on metabolic status, milk yield, and the quality of milk and dairy products, especially its Se content. Twenty multiparous Holstein Friesian lactating cows were assigned to two feeding treatments. The cows were fed with 22.5 kg dry matter (DM) of total mixed ration (11.75 kg DM of forage plus 10.75 kg DM of concentrate) by head. There were two different concentrates with the same Se content (0.240 mg/kg of ration DM) but with different Se sources: The control (CON) was supplemented with inorganic Se (sodium selenite); and the other (IOSe) was supplemented with sodium selenite plus organic Se (Sel-Plex®), at 0.144 and 0.096 mg Se/kg of ration DM, respectively. The results indicated that, in general, the IOSe treatment did not modify the metabolic profile, and even decreased the total oxidant status (p < 0.05) and did not lead to a deterioration of quality and yield of milk. However, milk and cheese from IOSe had higher Se content (an increase of 29.7% and 38.2%, respectively) than CON (p < 0.01), but this effect was not observed in yogurt. In general, physical or sensorial parameters of cheeses did not show differences between treatments. Moderate inorganic plus organic Se supplementation may be more effective than inorganic Se, increasing the Se content in milk and cheese, without causing a deterioration in quality or productive parameters.

The article reflects studies on the use of fresh spent grain when feeding bulls at the final stage of fattening and dry spent grain when growing replacement heifers aged 6-12 months, which showed its positive effect on the quality of feed rations and animal productivity. Part of the mixed fodder in the main diet of the control groups was replaced with spent grain. Bull calves got 5 kg of fresh spent grain instead of 1 kg of the mixed fodder and heifers got 0.5 kg of dry spent grain instead of the same amount of the mixed fodder. Thanks to pent grain, the protein value of diets was increased and their micro mineral composition was optimized, which contributed to the activation of metabolism in animals and increased their productivity. The live weight of the bulls of the experimental group at the end of the fattening was 2.5% higher than that in the control animals and the average daily gain was 7.4% higher. These indicators in the heifers of the experimental group were higher than the control values by 4.1% and 6.5%, respectively. The cost of energy feed units per 1 kg of increase in live weight in animals of the experimental groups was lower by 7.3-7.6%, compared with the control. The economic feasibility of using fresh and dry spent grain in the diets of young cattle was established, since due to an increase in the growth rate of animals and significant savings in grain feed, the cost of 1 kg of live weight gain obtained from rations with spent grain was 6.2% lower in heifers and 10.4% in bulls.

This research aimed to study the cost potential of shallot in Rasi Salai District, Sisaket Province in order to lead to planning on pricing, marketing, improving the quality of shallot and analyzing data of farmers and shallot production. The research findings on the general information of shallot farmers revealed that they consisted of 75% of males and 25% of females with 40-49 years of age or 50%. Most of their educational levels were 55% of primary level or lower. They grew shallot together with other crops. The Bang Chang varieties (local shallot varieties of Sisaket Province) were grown most of 75% and the other 25% of local northern verities called Hom Bua. The 70% of planting shallots were harvested from the last season and the other 30% were purchased from other farmers in the market.  The shallot productivity per rai was uncertain depending on the caring, fertilizing and disturbing disease. Approximately 35% of the farmers harvested 1,200-1,500 kilograms per rai or 25%. Regarding the production cost of shallot, it was found that the average mount was 8,151.5 baht per rai with the highest amount of verities of 3,250 baht per rai or 15.2%. The cost of insecticide was 1,000 baht or 10.2% of the total cost. In addition, the least cost was transportation for 3.3% only because most merchants bought shallots at the farming sites.  According to sale data, 70% of the farmers sold local verieties of Sisaket Province with average price of 30 baht per kilogram, followed by 15% of Hom Bua with an average price of 45 baht per kilogram. The average income earned by farmers in each household was different at 20,001-25,000 baht per rai

As a result of the researchers found a positive effect of new feed additive on the growth rate, the qualitative indicators of meat fattening. It was found that the effect of feed additives on the productivity increased with increasing doses of feed additives from 100 to 300 g per head. Thus, at the age of 18 months, the bulls of the first experimental group surpassed the control analogues by 3.86, the second – by 5.53 and the third – by 6.42% and the average daily increase by 7.50, 11.63 and 12.45%, respectively. On the basis of the control of the slaughter was revealed that the weight of the paired carcasses in calves from the experimental group was higher than that of peers, not consuming the Supplement, of 5.82-of 9.91%, and their output is up 0.09 to 0.86 percent. At the output of the pulp of the bulls of the experimental groups exceeded the control analogues by 0.72-1.05%. The meat index of their carcasses was, respectively, higher by 0.25-0.36. In average the sample of the flesh of the carcasses of young animals who consumed the study Supplement contained more protein compared with the control 0,28-0,57% fat, respectively 0,68-1,19%. The influence of feed additive and on the content of amino acids in meat was revealed. Thus, essential amino acid tryptophan in the longest muscle of the back of the bulls of the experimental groups was higher by 1.58 – 2.87% and protein quality index-higher by 0.37-0.63. The flesh of the carcasses of calves of the experimental groups had higher technological properties. The moisture-retaining ability of their longest back muscle was higher than that of analogues of the control, by 2,05-2,22%, the fading – lower by 2,04-2,41%. In the body of young cattle, consuming feed additive, protein was postponed more than in control, by 8,67-14,85% and fat – respectively by 11,96-21,44%. The conversion rate of protein they were higher by 0.78-0.86%, energy - respectively 0.67-1.06%. The level of profitability of beef production in the experimental groups was higher than in control at 4, 18-of 1.29%.

The association between science and production is gradually developing due to the arrival of new information and discoveries about the composition of feed and the transformation of nutrients in the body of cows. One of the most important links in the formation of animal productivity during lactation is the use of new feed products and feed additives in feeding. The results of scientific and economic experiment on the use of protein concentrate “Agro-Matic” in feeding of highly productive lactating cows of Ayrshire breed are contained the article. The inclusion of protein concentrate “AgroMatic” in the daily rations of lactating cows in the amount of 1,0 and 1,5 kg/head/day increases the level of indigestible protein by 6,1 and 8,9 %, respectively. The use of protein concentrate in the amount of 1,5 kg in cows feeding helps to increase the digestibility of nutrients in rations the quality of milk and the productivity of cows. When feeding protein concentrate in the amount of 1,5 kg the milk productivity of cows during the period of increasing the milk yield was 4297,5 kg of milk, the yield of essential and dispensable amino acids with milk was significantly higher. The yield of milk protein in cows that received protein concentrate in the ration in the amount of 1,0 kg was 137,7 kg, and when using 1,5 kg – 141,4 kg, which was signifi cantly higher than in the control group by 10,2 and 13,6 kg, respectively. The use of protein concentrate “Agro-Matic” in the ration had a benefi cial eff ect on the digestibility of protein. The digestibility of raw protein of the feed mixture with the inclusion of 1,5 kg of protein concentrate was 71,1 % compared to 68,0 % in the basic ration, which are used at the Maysky complex in the “Plemzavod Maysky”

Operative care is one of the major areas of healthcare services as over 310 million surgeries are conducted yearly. Surgery cancellations is a widely used indicator when evaluating the quality of preoperative care. Cancellations cause financial lost for organizations, however there is only limited research about the costs. The aim of this study was to evaluate the cost of elective day of surgery (DOS) cancellations in 13 operative specialties at a university hospital in Finland between September 1, 2015 and May 31, 2016 after a structured preoperative protocol was implemented to practice and a cancellation rate of 4.7% was recognized. Procedure prices conducted the data for the research and were collected from the hospital’s invoicing system. Financial loss and savings of cancellations were calculated from the total cost of procedures. As a result the total cost of DOS cancellations during the nine-month time period was 953,374.27 euros and mean loss of a single cancelled operation was 2,459.91 euros. The total of material savings for the hospital were 106,917.33 euros. As a conclusion, DOS cancellations cause unnecessary wastage, and financial aspects should be followed and evaluated systematically by setting goals and providing continuing developments.

e18524 Background: Pembrolizumab has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of recurrent and refractory squamous cell cancer of the Head and Neck. This approval was based on the favorable results noted in the pembrolizumab arm of the KEYNOTE-040 clinical trial which compared pembrolizumab with the standard of care (methotrexate/cetuximab/docetaxel). This study aims to compare the financial aspects of these treatment arms in the setting of their relative clinical advantages in terms of increased overall survival by applying current pricing of the drugs and treatment for side effects. Methods: Data published from the KEYNOTE-040 study was used to generate a model incorporating the cost of each drug in both arms. The incidence of side effects was also extracted from the published data. The cost of treatment of side effects was extracted from previously published data and used for cost estimation in the model. The number of years added in terms of overall survival was calculated for the entire experimental arm and the cost of each such year was calculated. This model assumes that all drugs were supplied at the cost indicated at the retail price advertised by their producers. The cost was adjusted for inflation to the current year. Results: Based on current pricing, 248 patients in the control arm which involved methotrexate /cetuximab /docetaxel incurred an estimated total cost of $2,918,185 over 24 months. The total cost for the pembrolizumab arm based on current pricing was $36,744,819 for 247 patients over 24 months. The cost of management of adverse effects was $383,910 vs. $18,728 (Std. of care vs. Pembrolizumab). The total cost averaged over all patients in both arms was $13,314 vs. $ 148,840. There is an inverse relationship between drug cost and management of adverse side effects in both arms. Conclusions: Treatment with pembrolizumab confers an increase in overall survival but the cost of the incremental gain appears to be high. The model makes several assumptions including the distribution of cost over the patient population in both arms and extrapolates it to the cost in US dollars. It is very likely that the quality of life was superior in the pembrolizumab arm but it was not incorporated into our model. Justification of the continued use of pembrolizumab must be weighed against the long term survival benefits accrued by its usage in the context of a different and possibly better quality of life.
