Improper neck postures and movements are the major causes of human neck-related musculoskeletal disorders. To monitor, quantify, analyze, and detect the movements, remote and non-invasive based methods are being developed for prevention and rehabilitation. The purpose of this research is to provide a digital platform for analyzing the impact of human neck movements on the neck musculoskeletal system. The secondary objective is to design a rehabilitation monitoring system that brings accountability in the treatment prescribed, which is shown in the use-case model. To record neck movements effectively, a Smart Neckband integrated with the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) was designed. The initial task was to find a suitable position to locate the sensors embedded in the Smart Neckband. IMU-based real-world kinematic data were captured from eight research subjects and were used to extract kinetic data from the OpenSim simulation platform. A Random Forest algorithm was trained using the kinetic data to predict the neck movements. The results obtained correlated with the novel idea proposed in this paper of using the hyoid muscles to accurately detect neck postures and movements. The innovative approach of integrating kinematic data and kinetic data for analyzing neck postures and movements has been successfully demonstrated through the efficient application in a rehabilitation use case with about 95% accuracy. This research study presents a robust digital platform for the integration of kinematic and kinetic data that has enabled the design of a context-aware neckband for the support in the treatment of neck musculoskeletal disorders.

Abstract Background Unsupervised home exercise is a major component of physical therapy (PT). This study proposes an inexpensive, inertial measurement unit-based wearable device to capture kinematic data to facilitate exercise. However, conveying and interpreting kinematic data to non-experts poses a challenge due to the complexity and background knowledge required that most patients lack. Objectives The objectives of this study were to identify key user interface and user experience features that would likely improve device adoption and assess participant receptiveness toward the device. Methods Fifty participants were recruited to perform nine upper extremity exercises while wearing the device. Prior to exercise, participants completed an orientation of the device, which included examples of software graphics with exercise data. Surveys that measured receptiveness toward the device, software graphics, and ergonomics were given before and after exercise. Results Participants were highly receptive to the device with 90% of the participants likely to use the device during PT. Participants understood how the simple kinematic data could be used to aid exercise, but the data could be difficult to comprehend with more complex movements. Devices should incorporate wireless sensors and emphasize ease of wear. Conclusion Device-guided home physical rehabilitation can allow for individualized treatment protocols and improve exercise self-efficacy through kinematic analysis. Future studies should implement clinical testing to evaluate the impact a wearable device can have on rehabilitation outcomes.

Objective: To assess the impact, in the Australian setting, of the COVID-19 lockdown on antipsychotic supplies for patients with schizophrenia following a prescription from a new medical consultation when compared to the same periods in the previous 4 years. A secondary objective was to assess the volume of all antipsychotic supplies, from new and repeat prescriptions, over these same periods. Methods: A retrospective pharmaceutical claims database study was undertaken, using the Department of Human Services Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme 10% sample. The study population included all adult patients with three or more supplies of oral or long-acting injectable antipsychotics for the treatment of schizophrenia at any time between 1 June 2015 and 31 May 2020. The primary outcome compared volumes of dispensed antipsychotics from new prescriptions (which require a medical consultation) between 1 April and 31 May each year from 2016 to 2020. This was to analyse the period during which the Australian Government imposed a lockdown due to COVID-19 (April to May 2020) when compared the same periods in previous years. Results: There was a small (5.7%) reduction in the number of antipsychotics dispensed from new prescriptions requiring a consultation, from 15,244 to 14,372, between April and May 2019 and the same period in 2020, respectively. However, this reduction was not statistically significant ( p = 0.75) after adjusting for treatment class, age, gender, location and provider type. Conclusion: The COVID-19 restrictions during April and May 2020 had no significant impact on the volume of antipsychotics dispensed from new prescriptions for patients with schizophrenia when compared to the volume of antipsychotics dispensed from new prescriptions during the same period in previous years.

Measuring knee biomechanics provides valuable clinical information for defining patient-specific treatment options, including patient-oriented physical exercise programs. It can be done by a knee kinesiography test measuring the three-dimensional rotation angles (3D kinematics) during walking, thus providing objective knowledge about knee function in dynamic and weight-bearing conditions. The purpose of this study was to assess whether 3D kinematics can be efficiently used to predict the impact of a physical exercise program on the condition of knee osteoarthritis (OA) patients. The prediction was based on 3D knee kinematic data, namely flexion/extension, adduction/abduction and external/internal rotation angles collected during a treadmill walking session at baseline. These measurements are quantifiable information suitable to develop automatic and objective methods for personalized computer-aided treatment systems. The dataset included 221 patients who followed a personalized therapeutic physical exercise program for 6 months and were then assigned to one of two classes, Improved condition (I) and not-Improved condition (nI). A 10% improvement in pain was needed at the 6-month follow-up compared to baseline to be in the improved group. The developed model was able to predict I and nI with 84.4% accuracy for men and 75.5% for women using a decision tree classifier trained with 3D knee kinematic data taken at baseline and a 10-fold validation procedure. The models showed that men with an impaired control of their varus thrust and a higher pain level at baseline, and women with a greater amplitude of internal tibia rotation were more likely to report improvements in their pain level after 6 months of exercises. Results support the effectiveness of decision trees and the relevance of 3D kinematic data to objectively predict knee OA patients’ response to a treatment consisting of a physical exercise program.

In the light of postmodern debates in anthropology, ethnography offers anthropologists new ways of representing their objects of study. The politics involved in the production and consumption by feminist scholars and activists of women's representations in the Arab world, and Egypt specifically, provides the starting point of this article. Using an ethnographic text examining manifestations of ‘Islamic Feminism’ in Egypt, I explore problems in addressing the subject of veiling – a continuous favourite among researchers. Grappling with stereotypes, assumptions and pre-interpretations based on what we read before going to the field and the questions we formulate in our minds, I look towards strategies of engagement with research subjects where anthropologists can express their commitments to them. Research ethics and reflexivity offer no formulaic guarantees of better representations, but pave the way towards understanding one's motivations and urges ethnographers to examine the impact of their work, both on the immediate community, and with regard to larger power politics. Given the fluid nature of identities and the relative fixedness of representations, solutions do not appear in abundance. Working outside of unnecessary dichotomies and searching for incongruities presents interesting possibilities for future ethnographic research.

Navigation in autonomous vehicles involves integrating measurements from on-board inertial sensors and external data collected by various sensors. In this paper, the computer-frame velocity error model is augmented with a random constant model of accelerometer bias and rate-gyro drift for use in a Kalman filter-based fusion of a low-cost rotating inertial navigation system (INS) with external position and velocity measurements. The impact of model mismatch and maneuvers on the estimation of misalignment and inertial measurement unit (IMU) error is investigated. Previously, the literature focused on analyzing the stripped observability matrix that results from applying piece-wise constant acceleration segments to a stabilized, gimbaled INS to determine the accuracy of misalignment, accelerometer bias, and rate-gyro drift estimation. However, its validation via covariance analysis neglected model mismatch. Here, a vertically undamped, three channel INS with a rotating IMU with respect to the host vehicle is simulated. Such IMU rotation does not require the accurate mechanism of a gimbaled INS (GINS) and obviates the need to maneuver away from the desired trajectory during in-flight alignment (IFA) with a strapdown IMU. In comparison with a stationary GINS at a known location, IMU rotation enhances estimation of accelerometer bias, and partially improves estimation of rate-gyro drift and misalignment. Finally, combining IMU rotation with distinct acceleration segments yields full observability, thus significantly enhancing estimation of rate-gyro drift and misalignment.

Ultra wideband (UWB) has been a popular technology for indoor positioning due to its high accuracy. However, in many indoor application scenarios UWB measurements are influenced by outliers under non-line of sight (NLOS) conditions. To detect and eliminate outlying UWB observations, we propose a UWB/Inertial Measurement Unit (UWB/IMU) fusion filter based on a Complementary Kalman Filter to track the errors of position, velocity and direction. By using the least squares method, the positioning residual of the UWB observation is calculated, the robustness factor of the observation is determined, and an observation weight is dynamically set. When the robustness factor does not exceed a pre-defined threshold, the observed value is considered trusted, and adaptive filtering is used to track the system state, while the abnormity of system state, which might be caused by IMU data exceptions or unreasonable noise settings, is detected by using Mahalanobis distance from the observation to the prior distribution. When the robustness factor exceeds the threshold, the observed value is considered abnormal, and robust filtering is used, whereby the impact of UWB data exceptions on the positioning results is reduced by exploiting Mahalanobis distance. Experimental results show that the observation error can be effectively estimated, and the proposed algorithm can achieve an improved positioning accuracy when affected by outlying system states of different quantity as well as outlying observations of different proportion.

Pemerintah Indonesia selama pandemi COVID-19 menerapkan PSBB (Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar) dimana PSBB tersebut membuat aktivitas masyarakat dibatasi, dampaknya juga bisa dirasakan pada lansia di Panti Wreda sehingga dapat menyebabkan timbulnya gangguan depresi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pandemi COVID-19 dan PSBB dengan gangguan depresi pada lansia di Panti Wreda Hana Ciputat Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analitik observational dengan desain studi cross sectional. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Panti Wreda Hana Ciputat Jakarta terhadap lansia sejumlah 56 subjek penelitian yang terdiri dari perempuan 48 orang dan laki-laki 8 orang. Dari 56 subjek penelitian jumlah laki-laki 8 (14,3%) dan perempuan 48 (85,7%). Sebelum terjadinya pandemi COVID-19 dan PSBB, subjek penelitian yang tidak depresi sejumlah 49 subjek (87,5 %), kemungkinan besar depresi 6 subjek (10,7%), dan yang mengalami depresi 1 subjek (1,8%). Selama pandemi COVID19 dan PSBB, subjek penelitian yang tidak depresi 38 subjek (67,9%), kemungkinan besar depresi 14 subjek (25%), dan yang mengalami depresi 4 subjek (7,1%). Berdasarkan hasil uji Chi-square nilai p= 0,000. Dapat disimpulkan terdapat hubungan pandemi COVID-19 dan PSBB dengan gangguan depresi pada lansia di Panti Wreda Hana Ciputat Jakarta. The Government of Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic implemented PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions) where the PSBB made community activities restricted, the impact can also be felt on the elderly in nursing home so that it can cause depressive disorders. This research was done in order to determine the relationship of the COVID-19 pandemic and PSBB with depressive disorders in the elderly at the Ciputat Hana Nursing Home in Jakarta. This study used an observational analytic method with a cross sectional study design. The research was conducted at the Ciputat Hana Nursing Home in Jakarta for 56 elderly subjects. In the nursing home consist of 48 women and 8 men. In 56 research subjects, there were 8 (14,3%) men and 48 (85,7%) women. Before the Pandemic of COVID-19 and PSBB, there were 49 (87,5%) research subjects who were not depressed, 6 (10,7%) research subjects who were most likely depressed, and 1 (1,8%) research subject who were depressed. During the Pandemic of COVID-19 and PSBB, there were 38 (67,9%) research subjects who were not depressed, 14 (25%) research subjects who were most likely depressed, and 4 (7,1%) research subjects who were depressed. Based on Chi-Square test result, the value of P = 0,000. In conclusion, there is a correlation between the pandemic of COVID-19 and PSBB with depression disorder in the elderly at Ciputat Hana Nursing Home in Jakarta.

This study aims to determine the impact of the beauty training program in PPKD of East Jakarta  on students. The impact can be seen based on three criteria, namely positive impacts according to program objectives, positive impacts outside the program objectives (side effects), and negative impacts outside the program objectives. The research method used in this study is an evaluative study using the Goal Free Evaluation model. The research subjects consisted of: managers, instructors, and beauty training participants in PPKD of East Jakarta . Data was collected using observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that (1) the positive impact according to the program objectives was felt by almost all training participants, namely they could increase their knowledge and skills in the field of beauty and were ready to enter the workforce, (2) a positive impact outside the program objectives freelance work as a makeup artist, having confidence in work, and daring to open a business in the field of beauty, and (3) negative impacts outside the program's objectives felt by a small number of training participants who were less serious and less focused on training that they could not accept the material taught so that they are not ready to enter the workforce.

This research aims to find out Is there any significant differences between the impact of traditional teaching method and using Index Card Match in teaching English vocabulary at the First Year Students of SMA HANG TUAH 3 MATARAM and to find out does using Index Card Match have a positive effect on students’ vocabulary knowledge. The sample of this research is 40 students. The kind of this research is experimental research. The students are divided into two groups such as experimental group and control group. Then the research subjects are pre-tested to know their prior vocabulary mastery. After the treatment, the sample is post-tested to know their recent vocabulary mastery as the result of the treatment. The scores in both pre-test and post-test are taken as the main data of the research. The data is analyzed by using t-test.

Abstract. The digital signage market has been flourishing every year, and this situation opens up new commercialization opportunities for stakeholders related to the acceleration function. The modern world has allowed technological innovation to satisfy market demands, primarily based on portfolio of patent information. The digital signage apparatus became an economical solution for the costly technology in the digital era. The purpose of this paper was to find the impact of the competitive landscape on the digital signage apparatus towards e-commerce development based on a patent portfolio from the WIPO database. The research was performed based on the patent information using Innograph software and information related to digital signage apparatus resulting in a total of 146 registered patents and 40 patents matching the research subjects. The results revealed that the patent portfolio on the digital signage apparatus has high perceived usefulness, but only few industries used this as a reference in benchmarking their technological competitiveness. This paper is beneficial to the industry that seeks for the impact of the latest technological implementation amidst the competitive commercialization of the digital signage apparatus.
