The purpose of this study was to evaluate outdoor PM2.5 infiltration into multifamily homes according to the building characteristics using regression models. Field test results from 23 multifamily homes were analyzed to investigate the infiltration factor and building characteristics including floor area, volume, outer surface area, building age, and airtightness. Correlation and regression analysis were then conducted to identify the building factor that is most strongly associated with the infiltration of outdoor PM2.5. The field tests revealed that the average PM2.5 infiltration factor was 0.71 (±0.19). The correlation analysis of the building characteristics and PM2.5 infiltration factor revealed that building airtightness metrics (ACH50, ELA/FA, and NL) had a statistically significant (p < 0.05) positive correlation (r = 0.70, 0.69, and 0.68, respectively) with the infiltration factor. Following the correlation analysis, a regression model for predicting PM2.5 infiltration based on the ACH50 airtightness index was proposed. The study confirmed that the outdoor-origin PM2.5 concentration in highly leaky units could be up to 1.59 times higher than that in airtight units.

The aim of this paper is to examine the determinants of capital structure (profitability, size, risk and growth). The sample is composed of 39 Bahraini firms listed in Bahrain Stock Market. The study covered the period 2011-2015. Correlation and regression analysis have been used to identify the relationship between the capital structure determinants and debt leverages (book leverage and market leverage). Correlation analysis aims to identify this relationship at market level and at sectorial level. Regression analysis objective is to anticipate the models characterizing the relationships between determinants and capital leverages. Results of the analysis shows negative significant relationship between profitability and dependent variables, with more significance relationship with market leverage. This relationship is demonstrated in market level and in insurance and services sectors between profitability and book leverage. When the market leverage is the dependent variable this relationship is valid in market level and in banking, hotels, insurance and services sectors. Positive significant relationship has been found between size and both leverages in market level. Similar result is detected on sectorial level in banking, industrial, investment and services when the dependent variable is book leverage. Size-market leverage relationship is positive and significant also in insurance, investment and services sectors. The relationship risk—book leverage is significant only on sectorial level in Industrial, insurance and investment sectors. In term of market leverage—risk relationship, significant relationship is detected in market level and in investment and services sectors. Regression analysis results present a significant linear model reflecting the relationship between determinants of capital structure and leverages.

The purpose of the paper is to determine the relationship between different types of tourism safety and security, and components of the tourism entrepreneurship potential, to conduct a quantitative analysis of these indicators in the regions of Ukraine and to identify areas for ensuring the safety and security of the tourism entrepreneurship potential realization. Methodology. Analysis of tourism safety and security in Ukraine is based on the assessment of security potential indicator and the security threats indicator for 25 regions. These indicators take into account the following types of safety and security: security of tourist services, safety of tourist facilities and equipment, social security, political security, financial security, medical safety, information security, and ecological security. The impact of tourism safety and security on the tourism entrepreneurship potential realization is determined on the basis of correlation and regression analysis, where the indicator of the tourism entrepreneurship potential realization is the volume of domestic and inbound tourist flows in the region. The empirical basis of the study is the data of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine for 2019. The reliability of the regression model was tested on the basis of the approximation coefficient and Fisher's F-test. Results of the correlation analysis indicate a significant relationship between ensuring the safety and security of tourism in the region and the volume of domestic and inbound tourist flows. As a result of regression analysis, a model of a high level of reliability was obtained, which indicates how the volume of domestic and inbound tourist flows to the region increases with increasing the level of tourist safety and security by unit. Practical implications. Since the process of safety and security ensuring for the tourism entrepreneurship potential realization cannot be implemented exclusively at the regional level, it is justified the feasibility of a targeted public policy in eight areas. Value/originality. The identified relationship between the types of safety and security of tourism and components of the tourism entrepreneurship potential, as well as establishing the level of impact of safety and security of tourism on the tourism entrepreneurship potential realization in the region provide for a better understanding of ways for efficient governance in this area.

The objective of this study is to determine the influence of field compaction conditions on hot-mix asphalt layers compaction. A large field test was carried out to assess the compaction degree variation under field conditions such as the type of layer, the temperature and the roller (weight and compaction mode). Compaction evolution with roller passes of two asphalt layers was assessed in-situ with a nuclear and a non-nuclear measurement device. The analysis of the compaction results with regression models showed that the temperature, the roller weight and the asphalt mixture are the most influential and that the frequency, for all dynamic compaction modes, is not relevant. Finishing compaction increases layer’s compaction degree up to 2%. The two different density gauges used in this study measured different compaction degree values.

The hospitality industry is the unity of all cooperating organizations, each of which performs certain functions aimed at meeting the needs of consumers. The purpose of the article is to review the hotel market of St. Petersburg in the pre-pandemic period. During the research, methods of system and economic analysis, statistical structural and dynamic analysis, correlation and regression analysis were used. To achieve this goal, the characteristics and lists of services of hotels of the main categories are structured. It analyses the key market indicators, such as occupancy and hotel room growth, the distribution of room stock by category, the ratio of tariffs for rooms in hotels of different categories, as well as tourist flow in the context of domestic and foreign citizens. The distribution of domestic and foreign tourists by districts of the city is considered, preferences are revealed. The analysis of the dynamics of changes in the main parameters of the market, including specific indicators, is carried out, demand and supply are compared. It is established that hotels in recent years have carried out activities to attract additional tourists. It is concluded that hotels of different categories did not have time to adapt to the increase in the number of tourists. The characteristics of the market that presumably influence the value of the Gross regional Product of the city are identified, and regression models are compiled. Assumptions are made about the trends in the development of the hotel market in St. Petersburg.

A specific informative indicator allowing judging enterprise movement through its life cycle stages is a Free Cash Flow (FCF). Differences in FCF determining considerably influence its calculation and further analysis methods. Thus the issue of FCF size determination algorithm formalization arises. The present time need in practical usage of certain applied aspects regarding the enterprise FCF management stipulates the research issues and thesis relevance as well. The aim – identification of both negative and positive influence factors for the confectionary enterprises FCF by means of correlation and regression analysis; checking of the selected influence factors statistical meaning and model adequacy. The article refers to the correlation and regression analysis, liner regression. It allows transferring from factors functional relation and effective indicator to scholastic dependence. The correlation and regression analysis allows the task solving: to determine the analytical form of relation between the effective and factor indicators as well as define their density relation level. The correlation analysis is held for 15 confectionary enterprises FCF size in 2002-2018 and 85 indicators of No1-3 financial accounting forms indicators in the first case. According to the correlation analysis results 10 influence factors possessing the close relation with FCF size are chosen. Pre-requisite availability of independent and not related factors in the regression modelresults in their reduction to 5. The greatest reverse influence makes the enterprise income from the capital assets sell and financial investments; its correlation coefficient is equal to -0.76. The other factors possess the correlation coefficient meaning at the visible and high level. The received empiric linear regression equation possesses multiple correlation effect on 0.9 level. The hypothesis on heteroscedastic model absence is confirmed. The model received according to the correlation and regression analysis results is adequate and statistically meaningful. The offered model application allows forecasting the general FCF indicator meaning for confectionary industry enterprises as well as determining tendencies in the future and managing it in general. Key words: free cash flow, NOPAT, financial result, cash flow report, confectionary enterprise, correlation analysis, regression analysis, model, heteroscedasticity.

Results from four early childhood practitioner field tests of performance checklists and early intervention practice guides are reported. Findings from the first field test were used to make changes and improvements in the checklists and practice guides evaluated in the second and third field tests, and findings from the latter two field tests were used to improve the checklist and practice guide evaluated in the fourth field test. Results indicated that changes made in response to practitioners’ suggestions and feedback were associated with (1) progressive increases in the practitioners’ social validity judgments of the checklists, practice guides, and checklist-practice guide correspondence, and (2) progressive decreases in the number of practitioner suggestions and feedback for improving the early intervention materials. The field-test research demonstrates the importance of practitioner input, suggestions, and feedback for improving the usefulness of early childhood intervention practices.

In order to facilitate system design and performance analysis, a virtual prototype for metro train electropneumatic brakes is proposed. A virtual braking environment that consists of a three-car train model and six electropneumatic brakes model is elaborated. The virtual braking environment can be used to research the relation between braking response and electropneumatic brake’s parameters and to simulate axle loading transfer. By comparing the simulation results with bench test data, the electropneumatic brake model is proven to be quite accurate. Based on the proposed virtual prototype, a test train brake is designed, and a couple of field tests are carried out. The average deceleration of electropneumatic compound service brake at the initial speed of 45 km/h is 0.83 m/s2, the braking distance is 94 m, and that of pure air service brake at the speed of 43 km/h is 0.64 m/s2, the braking distance is 111 m. The field test results satisfy the test train requirements, which further proves the effectiveness of the proposed virtual prototype.

In order to study influences of different load at pile top on the behaviors of negative skin friction piles, field tests of negative skin friction behaviors of three identical piles with different loads at pile top are made in the same site. According to the field test condition, the corresponding numerical simulations are accomplished. The comparison shows that numerical simulation results and field test results in accordance well. The additional settlement induced by negative skin friction is bigger and the neutral position is higher, the additional axial force induced by negative skin friction reduces obviously in piles with pile head load compared with that in piles without pile head load induced by negative skin friction. Along with load increase, the additional settlement increases, the neutral point position becomes higher; the additional axial force reduces obviously. The result indicates there is regularity about the influences of pile head load on negative skin friction. It may be useful to the research for negative skin friction behaviors of pile.

Education industry is a service enterprise that has its unique characteristics. Thus, the implementation of e-CRM in education institutions and other service companies is different. The research methodology uses variables Pre-Purchase, At-Purchase, Post-Purchase, e-Trust, e-Satisfaction and e-Loyalty, where the hypothesis was tested by correlation analysis and regression analysis. Besides, it also uses IPA (Importance Performance Analysis) to identify factors to be improved by calculating the gap analysis. The test results obtained show that based on the correlation analysis, all the H1hypotheses (has relationship) are accepted and based on the regression analysis, all the hypotheses H1 (has effects) is accepted. Under the IPA, for both increases in the first priority and second priority, all the variables need to be improved.

Free-cutting steel gains specific working properties thanks to the high content of sulfur and phosphorus. These elements, especially sulfur, have a rather high tendency to segregation. Therefore, segregation defects in free-cutting steel continuously cast billets can be significantly developed. The aim of the work was to study the influence of the chemical composition of freecutting steel and casting technological parameters on the quality of the macrostructure of continuously cast billets. A metallographic assessment of the internal structure of cast metal made of free-cutting steel and data processing by application of correlation and regression analysis were the research methods. The array of production data of 43 heats of free-cutting steel of grade A12 was studied. Steel casting on a five-strand radial type continuous casting machine was carried out by various methods of metal pouring from tundish into the molds. Metal of 19 heats was poured with an open stream, and 24 heats – by a closed stream through submerged nozzles with a vertical hole. High-quality billets had a cross-sectional size of 150×150 mm. The macrostructure of high-quality square billets made of free-cutting steel of A12 grade is characterized by the presence of central porosity, axial segregation and peripheral point contamination, the degree of development of which was in the range from 1.5 to 2.0 points, segregation cracks and strips – about 1.0 points. In the course of casting with an open stream, almost all of these defects are more developed comparing with the casting by a closed stream. As a result of correlation and regression analysis, linear dependences of the development degree of segregation cracks and strips both axial and angular on the sulfur content in steel and on the ratio of manganese content to sulfur content were established. The degree of these defects development increases with growing of sulfur content in steel of A12 grade. These defects had especially strong development when sulfur content in steel was of more than 0.10%. To improve the quality of cast metal, it is necessary to have the ratio of the manganese content to the sulfur content in the metal more than eight.
