Many cities have built expressways to alleviate traffic congestion, among which elevated expressways are the most common form. However, traffic congestion still occurs frequently in the connecting section between the ramp of expressway and the ground intersection. Based on the field traffic survey data, the traffic operation characteristics of vehicles in the connecting section and the main factors affecting the length of the connecting section are analyzed. A combined model for calculating the length of the connecting section between ramp of urban expressway and intersection is proposed. VISSIM is used to simulate the traffic flow under the current and calculated length of the connecting section. The comparison results show that under the calculation length, the travel time, average delay, parking time and queue length are reduced to varying degrees, which verifies the rationality of the calculation model.

According to traffic operation characteristics and lane changing maneuvers, combining with the export notice signs and considering the worst driving conditions, the gap acceptance theory and kinematics are employed to establish the length of lane change operation between interchanges with probability theory. To operating speed as the premise, the necessary length that drivers change to the inside lane from the nearside lane is analyzed in terms of waiting for the gap acceptance, and the necessary length that drivers change to the nearside lane from the inside lane is also analyzed in terms of running for the gap acceptance, then calculation model of minimum net distance between interchanges on eight-lane expressway is constructed. The recommended value is then put forward.

In this paper, the composition and characteristics of airborne ECM system automatic test system is fully acquainted, the main factors affecting the availability is analysed, the availability evaluation method of fuzzy mathematics system is studied, the corresponding availability evaluation method is proposed and the availability calculation model is established in this paper. Based on the relevant test data and the detail calculation evaluation for the airborne ECM system automatic test system, the automatic test system is verified available.

Developments in Yogyakarta City have driven residents of the city and its outskirts to access available social facilities, such as education, healthcare, and employment. If this continues, various social and urban problems may emerge, including increased population density and traffic congestion. Another implication of this process is decreased environmental carrying capacity as a result of continued use of non-sustainable approaches to development. This study aims to model the complexity of the relationships between aspects i.e., social, economic, and environmental of the area studied. The system dynamics method is used, as it is a disciplinary approach that is able to fully explore problems that occur in interconnected systems rather than examining incidents partially. As the basis for this model, the causal loop diagram (CLD) model has been applied based on literature studies and field observations. The result shows that developments in the tourism and education sectors are the main factors affecting the intersections of social, economic, and environmental considerations.

Determining the spatial–temporal correlation (STC) between roads can help clarify the operation characteristics of road traffic. Moreover, this correlation affects the utilization quality of traffic data in related research fields. Therefore, it is of significance to provide more reasonable correlation information for other research, such as in traffic speed prediction. Most of the traditional correlation calculation methods for traffic are based on only statistical theory. These methods are simple, but their ability to explain the actual phenomenon is limited due to the lack of consideration of the actual traffic operation characteristics. Therefore, to provide more reasonable correlation information between roads, this paper analysed the influence mechanism of urban traffic based on the traffic dynamic model, and two parameters, traffic complete influence time and traffic correlation strength, were proposed to bring physical meaning to the calculation of STC. Then, an improved calculation model of the STC between different roads considering the adjacency between roads was proposed in this paper. Finally, this paper verified this method against two common traditional methods through different experiments. The verification results show that the calculation method proposed in this paper has better interpretability for the STC between different roads and can better reveal the internal traffic operation characteristics of the road network.

Traffic congestion problems generally caused by the increasing use of private vehicles and public transportations. In order to overcome the situation, the optimization of public transportation’s route is required particularly the urban transportation. In this research, the performance analysis of Firefly and Tabu Search algorithm is conducted to optimize eleven public transportation’s routes in Bandung. This optimization aims to increase the dispersion of public transportation’s route by expanding the scope of route that are crossed by public transportation so that it can reach the entire Bandung city and increase the driver’s income by providing the passengers easier access to public transportations in order to get to their destinations. The optimal route is represented by the route with most roads and highest number of incomes. In this research, the comparison results between the reference route and the public transportation’s optimized route increasing the dispersion of public transportation’s route to 60,58% and increasing the driver’s income to 20,03%.

The article performed the processing of the results of a computer experiment to determine the cooling time of oil in a stopped oil pipeline. We proposed a calculation model in previous works that allows you to simulate the process of cooling oil.There was a need to verify the previously obtained results when conducting a laboratory experiment on a stand with soil. To conduct the experiment, it was necessary to conduct the planning of the experiment. The factors affecting the cooling time of oil in the oil pipeline, which will vary in the proposed experiment, are determined, empirical relationships are established. A regression analysis was carried out, and the dispersion homogeneity was checked using the Cochren criterion. The estimates of reproducibility variances are calculated. The adequacy hypothesis was tested using the Fisher criterion. Significant regression coefficients are established.

Abstract:: Thanks to their excellent corrosion resistance, superior mechanical properties and good biocompatibility, titanium (Ti) and Ti alloys are extensively applied in biomedical fields. Pitting corrosion is a critical consideration for the reliability of Ti and Ti alloys used in the human body. Therefore, this article focuses on the pitting corrosion of Ti and Ti alloys, which introduces the growth stages of pitting corrosion and its main influencing factors. Three stages, i.e. (1) breakdown of passive film, (1) metastable pitting, and (3) propagation of pitting, are roughly divided to introduce the pitting corrosion. As reviewed, corrosive environment, applied potential, temperature and alloy compositions are the main factors affecting the pitting corrosion of Ti and Ti alloys. Moreover, the pitting corrosion of different types Ti alloys are also reviewed to correlate the types of Ti alloys and the main factors of pitting corrosion. Roughly speaking, β-type Ti alloys have the best pitting corrosion resistance among the three types of Ti alloys.

Professional football clubs have a special characteristic not shared by other types of companies: their sport performance (on the field) is important, in addition to their financial performance (off the field). The aim of this paper is to calculate an efficiency measure using a model that combines performance (sport and economic) based on data envelopment analysis (DEA). The main factors affecting teams’ efficiency levels are investigated using cluster analysis. For a sample of Spanish football clubs, the findings indicate that clubs achieved a relatively high efficiency level for the period studied, and that the oldest teams with the most assets had the highest efficiency scores. These results could help club managers to improve the performance of their teams.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the potential of dried Cystoseira barbata alga for ethanol production through alcoholic fermentation. The influence of the main factors affecting the fermentation are studied in the frame of a 23 factorial experimental plan. The main factors influencing the process are the fermentation temperature (t from 25 °C to 35 °C), the solid to liquid ratio (S/L from 0.040 g/g to 0.080 g/g), and the cellulase ratio (R from 8 U/g d.m to 16 U/g d.m.). The maximum volatile compounds yield of 0.2808 g/g d.m and ethanol yield of 0.0158 g/g d.m were favored by the following experimental conditions: process temperature of 35 °C, solid to liquid ratio of 0.0415, and enzyme ratio of 16 U/g d.m. A statistical model was used to correlate the product yield with the process factors. Additionally, 19 interesting bioactive compounds were found in the enzymatic hydrolysis and alcoholic fermentation broths which seem likely to maintain natural defence mechanisms against diseases and physical disorders.
