This paper presents a kind of thermal flow meter designed to measure downhole fluid flow at production profile logging. A computational fluid dynamics model is established to study the variation of temperature field in Downhole Thermal Flow Meter with medium and input power. The relation curve between heating power and fluid velocity and heating time is determined. According to the theoretical research, the experimental prototype of downhole thermal flow meter is designed and manufactured, and the dynamic experimental research is carried out on the multiphase flow simulation experimental device. The results show that when the power of the heating wire is constant, the temperature of the liquid around the heating wire decreases with the increase of the flow rate, and the resolution of the instrument is obvious when the flow rate is less than 20 m3/d. When the flow rate is constant, the greater the power of the heating wire, the more obvious the response characteristics of the instrument. It has a good response in the whole single-phase oil and single-phase water environment. The research of theoretical and dynamic experimental shows that it is feasible to use downhole thermal flow meter to measure downhole flow. This method will provide a new idea for the measurement of flow in production profile.

Abstract The paper presents analytical and numerical model calculation results of the temperature distribution along the thermal flow meter. Results show a very good conformity between numerical and analytical model. Apart from the calculation results the experimental investigations are presented. The author performed the test where a temperature of duct wall surface was measured. The relation between mass flow rate in terms of the duct surface temperature difference was developed.

Работа посвящена расчетно-теоретическому исследованию работы блока инжекторов. Рассмотрен пароводяной струйный аппарат, который применяется в качестве средства циркуляции теплоносителя первого контура. Подвод дополнительного потока осуществляется на цилиндрическом участке с внезапным расширением сечения через перемычку. Для достижения поставленной цели разработана программа для ЭМВ, в которой смоделирована зависимость давления от нагрузки в контуре, а также проведено расчетно-теоретическое исследование влияние гидравлического сопротивления на расход перемычки. В данной работе рассмотрены только рабочие режимы, т.е. все инжекторы работают как насосы. В ходе работы было установлено, что при нагрузке в 30% увеличиваются коэффициенты инжекции пароводяного струйного аппарата, но характер работы перемычек не меняется. Так же было установлено, что расход через перемычку меняется не пропорционально коэффициенту гидравлического сопротивления перемычки. The paper is devoted to the computational and theoretical study of the injector block operation. A steam-water jet apparatus is considered, which is used as a means of circulating the primary circle coolant. The additional flow is supplied on the cylindrical section with a sudden expansion of the cross-section through the bridge. To achieve this goal, a computer program was developed that modeled the pressure dependence on the load in the circuit, and also a theoretical study of the influence of hydraulic resistance on the flow of the jumper was conducted. In this paper, only operating modes are considered, i.e. all the injectors function as pumps. In the process of the research, it was found that at a load of 30%, the injection coefficients of the steam-water jet apparatus increase, but the nature of the work of the jumpers does not change. It was also found out that the flow rate through the jumper does not change in proportion to the coefficient of hydraulic resistance of the jumper.

Abstract Abstract On the basis of the influence of dry season on ship traffic flow, the gathering and dissipating process of ship traffic flow was researched with Greenshields linear flow—density relationship model, the intrinsic relationship between the ship traffic congestion state and traffic wave in the unclosed restricted channel segment was emphatically explored when the ship traffic flow in a tributary channel inflows, and the influence law of multiple traffic waves on the ship traffic flow characteristics in unclosed restricted segment is revealed. On this basis, the expressions of traffic wave speed and direction, dissipation time of queued ships and the number of ships affected were provided, and combined with Monte Carlo method, the ship traffic flow simulation model in the restricted channel segment was built. The simulation results show that in closed restricted channel segment the dissipation time of ships queued is mainly related to the ship traffic flow rate of segments A and C, and the total number of ships affected to the ship traffic flow rate of segment A. And in unclosed restricted channel segment, the dissipation time and the total number of ships affected are also determined by the meeting time of the traffic waves in addition to the ship traffic flow rate of segments. The research results can provide the theoretical support for further studying the ship traffic flow in unclosed restricted channel segment with multiple tributaries Article Highlights The inflow of tributaries' ship traffic flows has an obvious impact on the traffic conditions in the unenclosed restricted channel segment. The interaction and influence between multiple ship traffic waves and the mechanism of generating new traffic waves are explained. The expression of both dissipation time of queued ships and the total number of ships affected in the closed and unclosed restricted channel segment are given.

It is now widely recognized that the three-dimensional (3D) system integration is a key enabling technology to achieve the performance needs of future microprocessor integrated circuits (ICs). To provide modular thermal management in 3D-stacked ICs, the interlayer microfluidic cooling scheme is adopted and analyzed in this study focusing on a single cooling layer performance. The effects of cooling mode (single-phase versus phase-change) and stack/layer geometry on thermal management performance are quantitatively analyzed, and implications on the through-silicon-via scaling and electrical interconnect congestion are discussed. Also, the thermal and hydraulic performance of several two-phase refrigerants is discussed in comparison with single-phase cooling. The results show that the large internal pressure and the pumping pressure drop are significant limiting factors, along with significant mass flow rate maldistribution due to the presence of hot-spots. Nevertheless, two-phase cooling using R123 and R245ca refrigerants yields superior performance to single-phase cooling for the hot-spot fluxes approaching ∼300 W/cm2. In general, a hybrid cooling scheme with a dedicated approach to the hot-spot thermal management should greatly improve the two-phase cooling system performance and reliability by enabling a cooling-load-matched thermal design and by suppressing the mass flow rate maldistribution within the cooling layer.

Thermal flow tests were performed on steamed bamboo powder using capillaries that were processed under different conditions in order to investigate the effect of the die surface state on the fluidity of the woody powder. The capillaries were processed by wire-cut electric discharge machining, reaming or drilling, and the arithmetic average roughness (Ra) varied from 0.5 to 2.5 μm. The bamboo powder was first steamed at 200 °C for 20 min, and its particle size was then controlled using different mesh screens. The thermal flow temperature was set at 200 °C. The results indicated that the flow behavior improved with increasing particle size. For the capillaries processed by WEDM, the flow rate for samples with particle sizes of 75~150 and 150~300 μm decreased with increasing Ra. On the other hand, when reaming or drilling was used to process the capillaries, the flow rate was almost independent of Ra, regardless of the particle size.

The article presents a strength analysis of the flowmeter design used in the diagnostics nodes of mobile machine hydraulic units. The connection of the flow meter housing with the bracket has been simplified and adapted for a more robust sensor design, taking into account the strength and tightness of the threaded connection. The tightness of the applied sealing method is confirmed by the analysis of the stressstrain state of the connection parts and confirmed practically.

Flow sensors are very essential in many aspects of our daily lives. Many of the industrial processes need a very consistent flow sensor to monitor and check for irregularities in their system. Therefore, flow sensor is an important tool for advanced operation in industrial environment. In this paper, the design and development of a 3D fabricated flow sensor was carried out using SolidWork 3D CAD. SolidWork Flow Simulation was used to model the effect the turbine flow sensor would have on a constant flowing water while MATLAB Simulink flow graph was created to visualize the effect of turbine flow sensor response with voltage input. Afterwards, the design was 3D printed using UP Plus 2 3D printer. The experimentation involved selection of sensors, coding to control the turbine flow sensor and automatic data logging and storage. During the design phase, the sensors and actuators were assembled using locally sourced material. Subsequently, under controlled laboratory environment, the turbine flow sensor was tested using a DC motor which was programmed to control the revolution per minute(rpm) of the turbine flow sensor. The rpm and velocity of the turbine flow meter was measured and stored in a database via Microsoft Excel using Cool Term Software. A total number of 517 readings were analysed to evaluate the performance of the turbine flow sensor. The result shows that the turbine flow meter is responsive to the motor input voltage and yielded accurate measurement of rpm and velocity of turbine flow meter.
