This research applied Classroom Action Research (CAR) to know if Pair-work technique is appropriate used to teach English Conversation. This research was conducted in two cycles of teaching learning activities, it was attained that the students’ ability at speaking could be increased which found the students’ test scores from pre-cycle (before doing treatment) to the second cycle (after the treatment done) increased. In the pre-test denoted that 78.1% (25 students of 32 research subjects) got scores below 70, in the post-test of cycle one was attained 90,6% (29 students of 32 research subjects) got scores 70 up and in the cycle two- post test 93,75% of the students got scores 70 up. This strategy could also drive the students actively taking part in the classroom

This study discusses about English conversation teaching by pair-work technique for the firts year English majored students. This study uses Classroom Action Research. It can be used to know the improvement of teachers’ activity and students’ ability after a particular technique applied. The research findings denoted that pair-work technique can attract the students’ motivation to take part in language teaching and improve their ability at speaking, It can seen from the improvement of students’ activities from cycle one to cycle two  (82,5 % of the students took part in the teaching -learning process or at  level 3,3 ,good category to 91,25% or at the level 3,65, good category in cycle two, and the improvement of their scores  was 7 students (21,9%) got score 70 up in pre cycle, 29 students  (90,6 %) in cycle one and 32 students (100%)  in cycle two. It can be stated that the pair-work technique is appropriate to apply in teaching speaking.

Abstract: This classroom action research was conducted as from February through April 2013 at GovernmentPrimary School 1, Semester 1, School Year of 2013/2014. The research subjects are the students of Grade VI. Thepurpose of the research was to improve the teaching-learning process in Mathematics. After 2 cycles, the students’learning achievement significantly improved. Based on the students’ learning activities and achievement, it wasconcluded, the cooperative instructional model Jigsaw can be used to improve the student’s achievement in Mathematicsparticularly in the topic of even numbers in Grade VI, Primary School. This study was Classroom Action Research (CAR) to improve students’ achievement of SMK Dwijendra Denpasar; currently students’ achievement of Pancasila and Civics Education was relatively low. Therefore, teachers were required to design learning activities that are able to develop competences both in cognitive and psychomotor domain. Learning strategies are centered on students and create a joyful atmosphere to motivate students from the beginning to the end of teaching and learning activities to improve the quality of improving students’ achievement. The main problem to be solved was whether teacher skills using group discussion method could improve student learning achievement towards of Pancasila and Civics Education in Grade XI of SMK Dwijendra Denpasar in academic year 2019/2020. The study was is the Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research subjects were 31 students of Grade XI Ak 1 of SMK Dwijendra Denpasar. The goal to be achieved was to determine the implementation of the group discussion to improve students’ achievement of Pancasila and Civics Education. The data were collected through observation technique, student learning achievement, and questionnaires. The finding showed that research analysis was implemented in two cycles. The stages of each cycle were (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation / observation, and (4) reflection. The data collected were the activities and post-test at the end of the cycle. There was significant improvement of activities in cycle I (one); the average score of student activities which was in accordance with the evaluation score has increased. In the cycle I the students’ average score was 69% and classical completeness was 48%. Meanwhile, the average score of cycle II was 85% and the classical score was 100%. It was due to student’s responses to the approach in implementing problem-based learning model; students were comfortable in stating problems in learning that enable them to understand the concepts being taught. Thus, the teacher’s skill on group discussion could improve students’achievement of Pancasila and Civics Education reflected by percentage of students who experience greater learning completeness to improve learning achievement.

Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini bertujuan untuk: mengetahui bagaimanakah implementasi media film situs Astana Gede Kawali dalam pembelajaran sejarah untuk meningkatkan kesadaran sejarah siswa kelas X IPA 1 SMA N 1 Baregbeg. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dari hasil penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) berupa perlakuan (treatment) dengan menggunakan media film sejarah lokal situs Astana Gede Kawali dengan subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X IPA 1 SMA N 1 Baregbeg. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya peningkatan yang dicapai siswa adalah pada siklus I hasil pre test belajar siswa, yaitu memperoleh rata-rata 52,14, sedangkan untuk hasil post test siswa memperoleh rata-rata 74,76. Selanjutnya siklus II hasil pre test memperoleh rata-rata 60,23, kemudian hasil post test memperoleh rata-rata 79,52.Abstract This Classroom Action Research aims to: find out how the implementation of the film media site Astana Gede Kawali in history learning to increase historical awareness of class X IPA 1 students of SMA N 1 Baregbeg. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative from the results of classroom action research (CAR) in the form of treatment using local historical film media, the Astana Gede Kawali site with research subjects as students of class X IPA 1 SMA N 1 Baregbeg. The results showed an increase achieved by students in the first cycle of the results of student pre-test, which obtained an average of 52.14, while for the post-test results students obtained an average of 74.76. Then the second cycle of the pre test results obtained an average of 60.23, then the post test results obtained an average of 79.52.

This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). Numbered Head Together (NHT) was used as the technique to improve students’ reading comprehension which was conducted in two cycles. The subject of this research were the tenth grade students of social 3 class in SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Kakap in the academic year of 2017/2018. The class consisted of 35 students. The data collection used observation and measurement technique. The results showed that Numbered Head Together (NHT) technique could improve students’ ability in reading comprehension. Moreover, it could influence the students’ attention, and also motivated them in learning activities as the result of the groups’ discussion. Through the use of Numbered Head Together (NHT) technique, the students were able to participate in teaching learning process. They became serious in listening to the teacher’s explanations and worked cooperatively with their friends in each group. They were also more active, enthusiastic, and more confident in following class activities which resulted on the better atmosphere of the classroom that was more enjoyable and alive. Keywords:Reading Comprehension, Numbered Head Together and Classroom Action Research

Abstract: This research aims to describe implementation of the Quantum Teaching learning model to increase student activity and learning outcomes of 4th grade students at Sentul II State Elementary School Purwodadi Pasuruan. The research subjects are 4th grade students at Sentul II State Elementary School. This research uses classroom action research conducted in two cycles. The results of the research showed an increase in student activity which was seen from visual activities, oral activities, writing activities, emotional activities, motor activities, and mental activities. The learning outcomes of 4th grade students which was seen from students' classical learning completeness in the first cycle is 55 percent increasing to 80 percent in the second cycle. The average grade increased from 61 to 73. So, it can be concluded that the application of the Quantum Teaching learning model can increase student activity and learning outcomes of 4th grade students at Sentul II State Elementary School Purwodadi Pasuruan. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan model pembelajaran Quantum Teaching untuk meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Sentul II Purwodadi Pasuruan. Subjek penelitian yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas IV SDN Sentul II yang berjumlah 20 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus dengan rincian setiap siklus terdiri dari dua pertemuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keaktifan siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II yang dilihat dari visual activities, oral activities, writing activities, emotional activities, motoric activities, dan mental activities. Hasil belajar siswa kelas IV juga mengalami peningkatan dilihat dari ketuntasan belajar klasikal siswa pada siklus I sebesar 55 persen meningkat menjadi 80 persen pada siklus II. Rata-rata nilai di kelas tersebut juga mengalami peningkatan dari 61 menjadi 73. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Quantum Teaching dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dan hasil belajar siswa kela 4 SDN Sentul II Purwodadi Pasuruan.

Abstract   This classroom action research was done in the area of speaking.  It was found that the eleventh grade students of SMAN 8 Denpasar got difficulty  in communicating and delivering ideas. The objective of this study was to figure out whether or not speaking  skill of the eleventh-grade students of SMAN 8 Denpasar in academic year 2017/2018 could be improved  through  British  Parliamentary  Style Debate Technique.  The research was undertaken based on the result of the interview with the teacher who taught the students. Pre-test was then carried out, and it was found that the subjects’ speaking skill was low. In order to settle down the problem, British Parliamentary Style Debate Technique was implemented as the technique to improve the subjects’ speaking skill. The study was conducted in two cycles. Furthermore, the result of post- test in each cycle showed that there were significant improvements on the subjects’ speaking skill after British  Parliamentary  Style  Debate technique  was applied. After the treatment of pre-test, the reflection or post-test was administered.   The mean figure of the reflection or post-test scores obtained by the subjects under study in cycle I was 70.52. and in cycle  II  was  78.34. In addition, based on the data of the questionnaire, the subjects’ responses towards the application of the technique was positive.  Therefore, it could be concluded that speaking skill of the eleventh- grade students of SMAN 8 Denpasar in academic year 2017/2018 could be improved through British Parliamentary Style Debate Technique. PEMANFAATAN KEGIATAN INFORMATION GAP DALAM PENGAJARAN BERBICARA (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas di SMK)Abstract The purpose of the research was to test to what extend the applying Information Gap Activities could improve the students’ speaking ability and how students respond about the use of these activities. Classroom action research procedures (plan, act, observe and reflection) were used to study the process and participants outcomes. The participants of this research were the twelfth year students of Drawing Department A of SMK Negeri 1 Padang consisted of 23 students. One of English teachers took part in the research as collaborator to assist the implementation of information gap activities and to observe the outcomes. The research was conducted in two cycles with four meetings for each. Observer played a role in evaluating, suggesting, and revising the program. Data from the second cycle were presented to show the final outcomes and changes. Data were collected through observation checklist, test, and interview. The result of the research indicated that the implementation of information gap activities can better improve the students’ speaking ability. Students’ centered class included pair work and group work also contributed to improve the outcomes. Moreover, students were active to interact with their teacher and other students. The students participated at all activities in the class. The students showed the good responses about the use of information gap activities in teaching speaking. Finally, the classroom action research process itself helped students and teacher reflect on their successes and failures in teaching learning process.Key words: speaking ability, information gap activities AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji sejauh mana penerapan Information Gap Activities dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa dan bagaimana siswa menanggapi tentang penggunaan kegiatan ini. Prosedur penelitian tindakan kelas (plan, act, observasi and refleksi) digunakan untuk mempelajari proses dan hasil peserta. Peserta penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas dua Drawing Department A SMK Negeri 1 Padang yang terdiri dari 23 siswa. Salah satu guru bahasa Inggris ikut serta dalam penelitian ini sebagai kolaborator untuk membantu pelaksanaan kegiatan kesenjangan informasi dan untuk mengamati hasilnya. Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus dengan empat pertemuan untuk masing-masing. Pengamat memainkan peran dalam mengevaluasi, menyarankan, dan merevisi program. Data dari siklus kedua dipresentasikan untuk menunjukkan hasil akhir dan perubahan. Data dikumpulkan melalui daftar periksa observasi, tes, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan kegiatan gap informasi dapat lebih meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa. Kelas yang berpusat pada siswa termasuk kerja pasangan dan kerja kelompok juga berkontribusi untuk memperbaiki hasil. Selain itu, siswa aktif untuk berinteraksi dengan guru dan siswa lainnya. Para siswa berpartisipasi dalam semua kegiatan di kelas. Para siswa menunjukkan tanggapan yang baik tentang penggunaan informasi kesenjangan kegiatan dalam mengajar berbicara. Akhirnya, proses penelitian tindakan kelas itu sendiri membantu siswa dan guru merenungkan keberhasilan dan kegagalan mereka dalam proses belajar mengajar.Kata Kunci: speaking ability, information gap activities

This research aims to improve students’ memory in learning geometry using Macromedia Flash Animation of grade X at SMA Negeri 3 Banda Aceh. It is classroom action research consisted of 2 cycles and using the worksheets. Geometry test was given after formative test and students’ responses questionnaire in learning. At the end of the research, it shows that (1) in first cycle that the average post-test score is 76.5 and at the second cycle is 80.1;(2) The Formative score test is 73.4; (3) students attitudes and responses towards learningmathematics by using Macromedia Flash are: (a) It was easy to memorize Mathematics instructional in first cycle is 80.77% and at the second cycle is 86, 15%, (b). Students could easily understand Mathematics instructional in first cycle is 65.38% and second cycle is 80.77% and (c) Students were active in group learning activities is 92.31% in first cycle and 100% in the second cycle.

This research is aimed at finding out whether the use of Kahoot! application can increase the students’ critical reading ability, learning autonomy, and their learning participation in Critical Reading learning process. This research was conducted at the English Education Program Study of IAIN Surakarta involving 36 students as the research subjects. This classroom action research consisted of 2 cycles; 5 meetings for each cycle, with 1 pre-test and 2 post-tests. Based on the research results, it can be found out that the mean of pre-test scores is 25.56, the mean of post-test 1 is 44.39, and the mean of post-test 2 is 66.17; it means that the use of Kahoot! application can increase the students’ critical reading ability. The results of the questionnaire consisting of 9 indicators show that the use of Kahoot! application can increase the students’ learning autonomy. Furthermore, results from observation also show that the students’ learning participation increased during the learning process when Kahoot! application was applied. The students also assumed that the use of Kahoot! application can increase their learning participation.
