Teachers have an important role in determining a good textbook for students. However, it seems difficult because the teachers should have academic and non-academic considerations. This qualitative research aims to investigate 10 teachers’ perceptions toward the use of EFL textbook and the strength and weakness of the ’English Ok’ textbook used in 5 schools in Bandung. Through the questionnaire, interview and document analysis, 80% of teachers said that the use of the textbook was helpful and important for them. They used the textbook as the source of learning and made an effective time in transferring the knowledge. Meanwhile, 20% of teachers perceived that they preferred to use adapting materials from other resources as the materials than the book. In terms of practical consideration (accessibility, attractiveness, accessibility, and publication), layout and design, content (materials, practice, and activities), learners’ need and language accuracy, the ‘English ok’ book was considered as a good textbook. The weaknesses of the textbook were the unavailability of the audiocassette, answer sheet and exercise preparation for the national examination. Involving more participants are recommended to find out the perceptions of anti-textbook teachers.

In every geography where people live, besides their efforts to meet their mandatory needs, people also put forward their first artistic products. While carving the rocks, the first humans expressed their feelings, what they thought, saw, and lived, and made various descriptions. Thus, the foundations of the art of painting were laid and the colors discovered. In fact, human beings, who are innately creative, have searched for permanent ways to express their feelings, thoughts and wishes as well as their battles and successes, and transfer them to the future generations. In this way, various artistic works that developed from simple pictures to symbolic forms and letter sequences were created. The communication established in this way with art also started a process of exchange of messages between individuals and groups. This exchange, which plays an active role in the interaction of people with each other, has appeared in every situation as a social consequence of being a receiver and a giver. Because the most important elements of communication are formed with these forms of expression, which are realized in written, verbal, visual and auditory terms between the receiver and the transmitter. Today, many artists create works by using the universal language of symbols, by attributing their own meanings to many contents with commonsymbolism, objects and colors. Effective communication between societies with art is also ensured through the symbolic forms used. With this research, it is aimed to examine and evaluate the works of artist Muhsin Kut, who presents different thematic perspectives with his paintings with and without figures containing social themes, in terms of their technical and aesthetic features. This study was conducted in response to the call made by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) in South Africa to strengthen the awareness levels of TVET colleges' readiness to embrace the 4IR era. The purpose of this study was to focus on equipment alignment between TVET colleges and industries. This study used Eulau and Karps' theory of responsiveness as a guide to explore the purpose. Also, this study purposefully sampled five TVET colleges in Limpopo province and two civil engineering industries linked to these institutions. This study used a descriptive qualitative research design. Document analysis and non-participant observations were used as data collection instruments. The study found that the working tools and equipment used by these TVET colleges were not fancy or showing prospects of Fourth Industrial Revolution. This was the same thing with the linked industries. Hence, all tools used were simply outdated when it comes to 4IR integration. And so, the study recommends that TVET colleges should institute new partnerships with 4IR responsive industries than being linked to industries that are using conventional tools and equipment.
