scholarly journals Design and Construction of Multi-Purpose Hand Crank Mechanical Energy Charger

The high demand for energy requires humanity to search for alternatives to improve and sustain the standard of living in the modern world. As a way to explore other possibilities of energy sources during emergencies as well as the development of eco-friendly technology, this paper aims to design and construct a multi-purpose mechanical energy charger using the product design and development method of research. Findings showed that the device is capable of producing electricity with its mechanical hand-crank for smartphones, rechargeable mini fan, and rechargeable flashlight. Meanwhile, the device is cheaper compared to the existing charging device in the market. It was also assessed that the device has social acceptability and technologically sound attributes based on its effectiveness, portability, usability, and user-friendliness. After the design and fabrication, it is recommended that there is a need to further improve the device with longer trials and verifications to obtain its most desirable performance for technology utilization and commercialization.

This study aims to estimate and explore the experience of introducing renewable energy use in the context of the world’s smart cities. In this regard, the study points out that the use of green energy is an important part of sustainable development. Environmental problems are a matter of global concern. Hence sustainable development is one of the approaches to end the harmful anthropogenic impact. The work includes quantitative assessment methods, for example, statistics, quantitative analysis, analogy, and synthesis. As a result, the analysis confirms that the effective development of a smart green city is impossible without the introduction of several renewable energy sources, the integrated use of which will reduce the likelihood of problems with the city’s energy supply. Likewise, the outcome accentuates that the desire to fully switch to renewable energy sources (RES) can be accompanied by several problems as the creation of RES technologies does not always take the risk of abnormal situations into account. In conclusion, the research findings are recommended to be taken into consideration by researchers in the field of smart and sustainable cities development, as well as urbanists and economists for designing future smart green cities based on renewable energy sources.

The interest in non-coding RNAs, which started more than a decade ago, has still not weakened. A wealth of experimental and clinical studies has suggested the potential of non-coding RNAs, especially the short-sized microRNAs (miRs), to be used as the new generation of therapeutic targets and biomarkers of cardiovascular disease, an ever-growing public health issue in the modern world. Among the hundreds of miRs characterized so far, microRNA-1 (miR-1) and microRNA-21 (miR-21) have received some attention and have been associated with cardiac injury and cardioprotection. In this review article, we summarize the current knowledge of the function of these two miRs in the heart, their association with cardiac injury, and their potential cardioprotective roles and biomarker value. While this field has already been extensively studied, much remains to be done before research findings can be translated into clinical application for patient’s benefit.

This research is an attempt to explain the form of environmental ethics and values ??of strengthening the Quadriology character of the Novel by Ki Padmasusastra (hereinafter referred to as QNKKP). This study uses a qualitative research paradigm. The object of this research is called cyber literature because the data is taken from online sites. The main data of the study include four novels by Ki Padmasusastra. Technical data analysis uses content analysis techniques that are based on cultural hermeneutics. The results showed that, QNKKP is a reflection of the universality of Javanese literature wrapped in the symbolism of literary texts. The picture of people's life is the goal of an ideal standard of living that is in accordance with the values ??that develop in Javanese culture. The main goal of environmental wisdom in the perspective of Javanese culture is to help hayuning bawana 'maintain the balance of nature', in order to create a harmonious life between creatures in the universe. An important implication of the research findings is that human awareness to respect each other's existing entities is the basis of strength that can guide human character to seek fellowship with nature.

In the present research work, the authors conducted a linguocultural study of English and Russian phraseological units, verbalizing business relationships and compared both linguocultures in the framework of national mental attitudes. Business communication, being the main sociocultural factor of a modern world, supports intercultural communication. In the research work the authors focused on phraseological units used in business communication. The research objective is to identify the types of metaphors in the English-language publicistic texts of economic orientation and to describe the specificity of their realization. The originality of the study is conditioned by the necessity to study the metaphor as an efficient mechanism of communication and a discourse-formative factor. The research findings allow the authors to identify the basic sources of metaphors and to reveal their modifications in economic discourse.

In the modern world, the hydrocarbons represent a raw material for various industries, therefore, the fight against the problem of extracting residual oil is relevant and important at this stage of human development. In connection with the high demand for hydrocarbons and the rise in world oil prices, research is being actively carried out on methods for enhancing oil recovery. Hydrodynamic methods of enhanced oil recovery represent one of the most effective and relevant methods by which the residual oil can be extracted. According to this, the current article pays special attention to several types of hydrodynamic methods forenhancing oil recovery. In this work it has been focused on three main types of hydrodynamic enhanced oil recovery methods; unsteady (cyclic) waterflooding, changing the directions of flows and forced fluid Extraction.

The demographic processes of the modern world in the context of international security are considered. The main focus is on the demographic situation in industrialized countries and developing countries. The nature of population growth in developing regions and the threat of uncontrolled migration are traced. The demographic problem of industrially developed countries - an increase in the proportion of the population of retirement age with a decrease in the proportion of the population of working age - is highlighted. It was revealed that the marginalization of the population, combined with the high mobility of the population, which is inherent in developing regions, creates the preconditions for further migration of the population, particularly to more developed regions, such a situation - a large percentage of mobile and young population in developing regions is a threat to socio-economic and political stability in developed regions, since a high standard of living, developed infrastructure, economic and social stability make developed regions attractive for migration from developing countries. It is analyzed that industrially developed regions have undergone a demographic transition, which has led to an increase in the proportion of the elderly population while the proportion of the working-age population has decreased, such demographic changes call into question the viability of the Welfare state model in the long term due to the lack of resources to support it, and a high standard of living actualizes the problem of uncontrolled migration from developing regions that have a surplus of population. The problem of institutional inefficiency in developing regions is considered, which can determine the problem of natural disasters, hunger, wars and epidemics and, as a consequence, a massive uncontrolled process of changing the place of residence, is a serious factor of regional and international security. The article analyzes how the demographic situation in the modern world is a challenge and threat to regional and international security.

Examined is significant development trend of the modern world geopolitical system of its substantial transformation, caused to a large extent by strengthening of China and Russia. The authors believe that based on the principles of political neorealism, we can talk about the “third wave” of colonization of Africa that is being formed at present, and based on fundamentally different approaches compared to previous world experience. The basis of this strategy, applied by the PRC, is the desire to maintain the role of the “world manufactory” due to the low cost of labor, while increasing the standard of living of its people by implementing various social and infrastructure projects.
