scholarly journals Technology and Policing: An Assessment of Police Commissionerate of Two Cities of Eastern India

Technology is a quintessential part of everyday life, police is not an exception in this regard. From “prevention and detection of crime” to “maintenance of law and order” police personnel are dependent on technology. Welcoming the era of pro-active policing, police has become adroit in using the progressive world of technology. Initially, police used batons, whistles, rattles, telegraph and now police has technology like wireless systems, Global Positioning System, sophisticated side handled batons, forensic checking, bullet proof jackets, etc. in the era of e-governance where police stations have websites and provisions like e-First Information Report. This paper explores the challenges faced in the use of technology during policing; and also to assess its impact on the police personnel of the two cities of eastern India. This is an empirical study conducted on the police personnel of police commissionerate of two cities of eastern India. The sample consists of fifty police personnel serving under the police commsionerate. The primary data was collected using face to face interview and perusing through Bureau of Police Research and Development reports. Secondary data has been collected from books, journals, articles, internet sources and newspapers.

The implementation of court in Indonesia has not fulfilled as expected because any parties involving in court has a lack of capacity, consistency, and integrity to provide legal service seriously. Some people assume that court services are not still optimal. To settle the problems, the Supreme Court just has officially issued Regulation No. 1 of 2019 regarding the Administration of Cases and Legal Proceedings in Courts via Electronic Means on 8 August 2019. This regulation is believed as an appropriate solution to face those problems. To elaborate more, this study illustrates a judicial reform in Indonesia, e-court, and access to justice, the conception of e-court including the performance of e-court and its drawbacks and challenges in the digital era. The research method uses normative research by approaching legal review and literature study. The technique of primary data collection applies Supreme Court regulation while means of secondary data are collected from concept or theory as set out under bibliography. Judicial reform in Indonesia is indicated by issuing new regulation regarding e-Court and e-Litigation, the implementation e-Court itself has been attributed to 32 courts consisting of general religious, and state administrative courts. Through e-Court, access to justice more transparent and accessible. Besides, justice seekers have no worries regarding distance issues as of e-Court may allow them to fight in court without face to face. Parties have no doubt relating to the acceleration of court to settle any dispute in Indonesia.

Crimes against women and girls have been increasing in recent years as reported by the National Crime Records Bureau. It becomes a serious social evil worldwide. The study has been tried to find out the trend of crimes against women for the period of the last ten years (2010-2019) in the states of eastern India i.e. Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa and West Bengal. The study has been based on secondary data from the National Crime Records Bureau, Govt of India. The data have been extracted and analyzed to get the status of crimes in particular categories. The crime records of Bihar show an increasing rate of women assault cases. Jharkhand data shows that indecent representation of women has increased in recent years. In West Bengal Cruelty by husband is the most reported crime in West Bengal and it is also observed that rape cases were decreased in West Bengal continuously in the last ten years. It has been found that Orissa and Bihar are significantly high in crimes like women assault on the internet, an insult to the modesty of women, kidnapping and rape comparing other states of study. Cruelty by husbands and cases under the immoral traffic act had significantly higher in West Bengal compared to other states under study. The Dowry death and kidnapping and abduction are significantly high in Bihar. The different levels of crimes against women in different states not only indicates the status of women in the society and the law and order situations of that state but also it is a reflection of the socio-psychological aspects. Proper implementation of laws along with awareness of related issues, along with continuous monitoring can play a crucial role to minimize the overall crime scenario.

The research is aimed at understanding the government policies on cultural tourism and pandemic mitigations in Bali made during the covid-19 pandemic. It uses qualitative method in which the primary data were collected through face-to-face and virtual video interviews to seven informants who were selected using purposive sampling to assure they aware of and understand the researched case; and the secondary data were collected from online publications. The research finds the regional regulation on cultural tourism was amended during the Covid-19 outbreak to strengthen the use of local cultures for tourism adapting both national and international tourism policies to lead to a more responsible tourism designating Bali’s local indigenous cultures of Tri Hita Karana and Sad Kerthi as basis of cultural tourism development in Bali; and more importantly, Bali’s government issued particular policies and  executed immediate measures to reopen tourism in Bali which totally shut down due to pandemic. These policies reacted differently by local people and remains become a hot debate within Balinese communities.

Digital marketing is modern practice that gives a chance to the business by changing to client-centered marketing strategies and thus provides an opportunity to grow business rapidly. Thus, Digital marketing is touching the urban India in lot many aspects and still holds tremendous potential which can multiply the opportunities for business enterprises in rural areas too. With the use of technology, there had been an increase in penetrating the productivity and efficiency. Banks have changed their approach from “Conventional Banking to Convenience Banking” and “Mass Banking to Class Banking”. The present study is exploratory in nature and is an attempt to examine the importance of digital marketing in today’s scenario and its impact on the civic society. The geographical scope of the study includes Jammu city of JandK region among the customers who were purchasing products and using services through digital marketing. The study is based on both primary and secondary data. A structured questionnaire with a sample size of 302 is used to collect the Primary data.

Aims: The study aims to overview about the marketing activities of banana industry in Vietnam based on the case study in Khoai Chau district, Vietnam. Methodology: Both primary and secondary data were used in this study. Primary data was collected through face-to-face interviews and mobile phone with market participants using semi-structured questionnaire in two year 2016 and 2019. The descriptive analysis method was used to describe channels of distribution, marketing practices of farmers and traders, flow of product from producers to consumers, and problems that banana farmers and traders encounter in their business operations. Results: The results show that banana was sold through 13 channels for both domestic and international markets. At traders’ level market, non-contract was popularly applied by retailers in both selling and buying operations. Majority of banana growers have small operations and engage in small transactions and individually with buyers. They do not have market power in setting the price. They are often faced with unstable price and difficulty in entering high income market. Establishing banana grower association in each commune would enable growers to maintain and monitor the quality of banana especially among small growers. Though collective marketing, they can link with large and stable potential markets such as supermarkets and other institutional buyers.

The paper titled "Deradicalisation Crime Of Terrorism Actors By Police", aims to identify and analyze the role of the National Police in the process of deradicalization of the criminal terrorism in Indonesia, the benefits of deradicalization, as well as the challenges and solutions faced by the National Police in the implementation of the deradicalization.This study uses the Juridical Sociological Approach, with descriptive analysis models, which use the type and source of primary data that is the result of interviews with police personnel and ex-terrorist, as well as secondary data source that literature on the various sub - laws that exist in Indonesia. Also in this study, the authors also used the descriptive method of analysis. That in the end all results were analyzed by using the theory of Aristotle and theory of Justice usefulness of Jeremy Bentham.Based on the research that has been analyzed, then it was concluded that the role of the National Police in deradicalizing the task is enormous, as evidenced by the reduction in the number of terrorism cases in Indonesia from year to year. In addition, the benefits of deradicalization can reduce the number of perpetrators of terrorism by changing the target ideology. But it is undeniable that the Police still face many obstacles, which in this study the authors provide some solutions to these obstacles.Keywords: Deradicalisation; Ideology; Police; Terrorism.

Education that is characterized by the use of technology in learning is education that is in line with the times and globalization. Therefore teachers are required to be able to develop learning that can motivate student interest in learning. Many ways can be done in this case such as developing teaching materials in the form of multimedia learning. Therefore this research develops the PAI teaching material QS al-Fil material for multimedia-based class IV. The method used in this research development is the Research and Development (R and D) method which refers to the Borg and Gall development procedure, with steps as follows: 1) Potential Problems, 2) Data collection, 3) Initial product design, 4) Validation design through FGDs and experts, 5) Design revisions, 6) Product trials. Primary data in this study include interviews, validation sheets (FGD and expert validation),tests to students, and questionnaires to teachers. The secondary data obtained from documentation, books, theses and journals related to research. The results of this study are 1) produce a product namely PAI teaching material QS al-Fil material for classIV SDN 17 Muara Sugihan based on multimedia, 2) expert validation includes material expert validation and application expert validation with an average score of 95% in the very category worthy. 3) the product trial results to see the effectiveness of the product showed a significant difference between before and after the use of the product, namely student learning outcomes increased after the use of the product, while in practicality tests, the practicality of teaching materials tried out for six users obtained an average score 94% with a very decent category.

This study aims to determine and analyze the selection process of candidate members of the Election Supervisory Committee (Panwas) Election in two districts and two cities in the province of Riau. The selection takes place in mid-2017, in response to Law No. 15 of 2011 on General Election. Moreover, Riau will hold the Elections to the Regions in 2018 and Legislative Election and the Presidential and Vice Presidential Election in 2019. The existence of Panwas is a necessity in the effort to make the election more qualified and produce leaders in accordance with the conscience of the people. But please note how transparency in the selection process of candidates for Panwas members who have a very big mandate in the nation's democratic process. Selection of Panwas member candidates should fulfill the element of transparency as a proof of the implementation of good governance.The method used in this research is qualitative research methods. Data collection is done by using primary data in the form of in-depth interviews to the informants.Purposive sampling is chosen to be a technique in getting informants in accordance with this research. In addition, secondary data derived from the Election Supervisory Agency and mass media documents also support and sharpen the case studies as the analytical blades in this study.

Many of the electronic chart position deviations that observed today come from past graphic collecting techniques of Nautical Chart.This study introduces an assessment of the challenges of hydrography and accuracy of the chart information based on requirements on nautical charts in Tanzania. The assessment of the challenges of hydrography and accuracy of the chart information is particularly important to strengthen data accuracy and meet the requirement of nautical charts in Tanzania. Primary data were collected through face-to-face interviews with the respondents and questionnaires as a tool. Secondary data obtained through, journals, articles, and report both published and unpublished. Quantitative data were analyzed by using SPSS whereas qualitative data analyzed by using content analysis. Data provided in this article will improve nautical navigational charts practices in Tanzania and reduce variation greatly in accuracy to help mariners make informed decisions based on the data in their on-board navigation systems. The article is relevant to the new IHO guide on how to assess the accuracy and reliability of depth and position information in nautical navigation charts. The recommendations have been arranged that nautical charts, which offer much considerable information for the safe navigation of ships, are able to work more efficiently. Incidence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in Ambarawa increased significantly during 20118-2019. In 2018 there were 19 DHF events, and in 2019 there were 124 DHF events. This study was conducted to determine the spatial distribution of dengue spread and environmental conditions associated with breeding grounds, resting places, installations, holes in walls, ceiling, temperature, humidity, air pressure, the use of mosquito nets in 2019.This research is a descriptive study with ecological studies. The population of this study was all DHF events in the working area of Ambarawa Health Center from 2018-2019 with the criteria to have a clear address with a total of 130 DHF events. This study uses secondary data containing DHF event data from Ambarawa Health Center and population data in the working area of Ambarawa Health Center in 2018-2019 and primary data related to the geographical location of DHF events. As a research instrument used is a questionnaire table, Environmental observation sheet, Global Positioning System (GPS), thermogygrometer. The results obtained from the pattern of the spread of DHF events in the working area of Ambarawa Health Center in 2018 were patterned spread with NNI 1.4 in 2018 and grouped (grouped) with NNI 0,000258 in 2019. The extent of the distribution of DHF events in Ambarawa was from in 2018-2019 the more widespread with the discovery of dengue patients in all kelurahan in 2019 after not found dengue patients in Baran and Bejalen villages in 2018. Dissemination of DHF information in Ambarawa from 2018-2019 can be found in Kupang District, spreading DHF patterned distribution (disbanded) in 2018 and in groups (in groups) in 2019 with the value of the NNI getting smaller.
