scholarly journals Awareness of Netizens on Cyber Crimes - An Empirical Examination in Andhra Pradesh

Internet has become an innovative relief for the modern generation, at it also promote a burden on the society. The internet acts as the genesis and breeding ground for a new kind of crime called the “cyber crime”. Common internet users are not aware of cyber crimes and they are not conscious on the precautionary aspects to over come such attacks from taking place. This paper aims to analyze the awareness levels of internet users towards various forms of cyber crimes. This study was conducted in Krishna and Guntur districts of Andhra Pradesh. Descriptive Research Design was adopted for the study and a sample size of 160 respondents were selected using Random Sampling Technique involving both the genders among the internet users. The findings of the study shows that the awareness levels of the internet users towards cyber crimes in the study area are very low and they have very less perception towards various forms of cyber crimes that exists in the modern times.

(The dependence and behavior of the citizens on information security and internet activities deeply affect the route that intend for using the information technology. It is a well known factor that the growth of cyber crimes in India is a resultant factor of issues such as lack of proper training and education and the low awareness levels of Indians towards punishment for cyber crimes. This paper aims at studying the perception levels of teenage internet users towards the aspect of cyber crimes based on statutory and ethical perspectives. Descriptive research design was adopted for this study in the sample size was fixed at 120 involving the intermediate college level students of Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh. The data analysis was carried out with the help of statistical tools like t-Test and ANOVA. The findings of the study shows that there is no difference in the perception levels among male and female teenage internet users and the study further shows that there exists the significant difference in the perception levels of the respondents based on their level of education and perspectives based on statutory and ethical issues.

Abstract: The crime that involves and uses computer devices and Internet, is known as cybercrime. Cybercrime can be committed against an individual or a group; it can also be committed against government and private organizations. It may be intended to harm someone’s reputation, physical harm, or even mental harm. Due to gradually increase of the internet users and netizens, abusage of technology is broadening gradually which tends to cyber-crimes. Cybercrime causes loss of billions of USD every year. Cyber Security, a mechanism by which computer information and the equipments are protected from unauthorized and illegal access. This paper seeks to know the awareness level of Indian graduate aspirants towards Entrepreneurship and Intrapreneurship concepts. Under descriptive research, survey method was conducted at a selective institution in Andhra pradesh. A sample of 129 out of 573 was drawn using proportionate stratified random sampling technique, out of which 113 had filled the forms and the leftover 16 were absent at the time of survey. The data was collected using schedule with 13 questions and the data analysis was done using descriptive statistics measure and percentages. From the analysis, it was found that about 53.98% of graduates heard about Entrepreneurship and only 18.58% heard about Intrapreneurship. Very few graduates have designated that certain most significant motives, characteristics and skills required for becoming successful Entrepreneurs or Intrapreneurs. It was also identified that only 23.89% and 7.9% of the total 113 graduate aspirants were willing to become Entrepreneurs and Intrapreneurs correspondingly. The major limitation of the study was that the survey meant for the chosen institution and had excluded the discussion of financial sources for Entrepreneurs or Intrapreneurs, left for further research. Lastly, it was concluded that the graduates were not clearly aware of the concepts, there arises a need to implant the concepts for their growth and our nation aswell.


The research study examines the issues of internet addiction and its Implications on Psychosocial aspects of Adolescents. This was carried out based on the level of Internet addiction, Media & Technology Usage and Attitude of Student’s studying at Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science & Technology (Deemed to be University),Vallam, Thanjavur, Tamilnadu, India. It was described in year 1996 by the psychologist Kimberly Young that Internet Addition (IA) a new form of disorder prevailing among various category of the people. The universe of the study comprises of 20 departments students studying in Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science & Technology having strength of 1442 first and second year students, whereas 144 were taken as the final respondents. The researcher has adopted descriptive research design and used simple random sampling technique in this study. The study was administrated by the tools to measure the internet addition scale developed by Young in 1996. The Demographic factors such as age, gender and grade level were also examined and data analysis includes descriptive statistic and inferential statistic. The result of the study is minatory that the degrees of excessive internet users in the midst of the adolescents are frequent users. The adolescents spend too much of time, too much of money for internet usage, they also unnecessarily access the internet without having any purpose. It reveals that very little time were spent with a purpose, it also reduces the sleeping hours, leads to absence of interpersonal communication, creates social problem, lack of direct contacts, family related problems, psychological disorders, loneliness, losing their academic performance and facing physical problems. Therefore the study reveals that internet addiction leads the adolescents in a negative phase.


The internet helps us in providing information as well as storing all our data, with the rapid increase in our modern technology; it has become very difficult to keep our private information safe. The Internet has also bred a new kind of crime CYBER-CRIME. The other name for Cyber crimes are "Internet Games" and "yahoo yahoo". Common internet users are unaware of Cyber crimes like hacking, identity theft, Credit/debit card frauds, cyber terrorism and many more crimes. This paper attempts to draw out the awareness level of students about cyber crime.

Students nowadays interact more frequently through the internet using English. As an international language, English is used by most internet users, both by application companies and social networks, as well as by users. Internet usage can be more easily obtained, especially in big cities. This affects the students’ way of thinking, learning and behaving because they can learn everything easily and quickly through online media available at the internet. The aim of this research is to show the effect of internet use habit on English achievement for class VIII students at SMPI Al Azhar 8 in Bekasi. This research based on survey methods using technical correlational analysis. While the data and information were obtained by a questionnaire. The sample is taken with purposive sampling technique that is 44 students. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that: There is a significant effect of the habit of interacting through the internet on the English achievement. This is evidenced by the acquisition of the results of the Sig. 0,000 <0,05dan t value = 4,365 which means there is a significant effect.

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui budaya informasi pada siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini berusaha mengungkapkan dan menjelaskan secara deskriptif mengenai budaya informasi pada siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Khususnya pada siswa pendidikan luar biasa di provinsi Bali. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan stratified random sampling. Jumlah sampel yang diteliti berasal dari sekolah penyelenggara pendidikan luar di provinsi Bali, yakni SLB Negeri 1 Denpasar, SLB Negeri 1 Singaraja dan SLB Negeri 1 Tabanan. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan ditentukan sebanyak 152 responden. Penelitian ini memberikan gambaran mengenai budaya informasi yang dimulai dengan cara mendapatkan informasi, mengolah informasi hingga memanfaatkan informasi untuk pengambilan keputusan pada siswa berkebutuhan khusus.Kata kunci: budaya informasi, siswa berkebutuhan khusus, sekolah luar biasaABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the information culture for students with special needs. Abstract. Hedonism means a living outlook that considers pleasure and material bliss as the main purpose of life. In general, these hedonists assume that they only live once in a lifetime. Therefore, they have the need to enjoy life as pleasurable as possible, adn free with No. limits. New media is a medium that uses the internet, technology based online media that has flexible character, it also has the potential to interactive and can funcation privately or publicly. For this research, i conducted a quantitative method with a correlational approach that aims to determine the hedonism that is in accordance with the AIO indikator (Activities, Interest dan Opinion). Also, this study implements a sampling technique namely simple random sampling.   Abstrak. Hedonisme mempunyai arti pandangan hidup yang menganggap kesenangan dan kenikmatan materi adalah tujuan utama hidup. Pada umumnya, kaum hedonis ini beranggapan bahwa hidup ini hanya satu kali. Oleh karena itu, mereka merasa ingin menikmati hidup senikmat-nikmatnya, sebebas-bebasnya tanpa batas. New media merupakan media yang menggunakan internet, media online berbasis teknologi, berkarakter fleksibel, berpotensi interaktif dan dapat berfungsi secara privat maupun secara publik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui hedonisme yang sesuai dengan indikator AIO (Activities, Interest dan Opinion). Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel dengan simple random sampling.

The problem of this research was initiated by the learning process of Physical, Sport and Health Education which was not run well. This research was aimed at revealing the students’ intrinsic and extrinsic motivation toward the learning process of Physical, Sport and Health Education subject at SMP N 1 Kota Payakumbuh. This was a descriptive research. The population of the research was all of students (287) in grade VIII of SMP N 4 Kota Payakumbuh. By using random sampling technique, 20% (55 students) of the population were takenas the sample. The data were obtained by making use of the questionnaire of Gudman’s scale. The data gathered then were analyzed by using statistic of descriptive percentage. Based on the results of data analysis, it was figured out that: 1) the students’ intrinsic motivation toward Physical, Sport and Health Education subject at SMP N 4 Kota Payakumbuh is 44.6% (average), and 2) thestudents’ extrinsic motivation toward Physical, Sport and Health Education subject is 41.8% (average). From these results, it is concluded that the students’ motivation toward Physical, Sport and Health Education subject, in general, is in average category.

This research was designed to describe the ability of the second year students to comprehend reading text according to the levels of question at SMAN 1 Sijunjung. To be more specific it aimed at describing students’ ability to comprehend reading text according to the levels of comprehension questions. This research was descriptive research. The population of this research was the second year students at SMAN 1 Sijunjung. The number of members of population was 165 students. The researcher took 80 students as the sample. In selecting sample, the researcher used stratified cluster random sampling technique. The data of this research were the students’ scores on comprehending text according to the levels of question. To take the data, the researcher used reading test. In analyzing the data, there were some steps she used: the first was presentation of raw scores and calculation of Mean and Standard Deviation. The second was classifying the students’ ability into high, moderate, and low ability. The third was determining the percentage of the students who had high, moderate, and low ability. The result of the data analysis showed that the ability of the second year students to comprehend reading text according to the levels of question at SMAN 1 Sijunjung was moderate. It was proved by the fact that 41 students (51.25%) had moderate ability. Specifically, the ability of the students to comprehend reading text at the level of comprehension questions was moderate. . It was proved by the fact that 55 students (68.75%) had moderate ability. Based on the findings above, it was suggested that the teachers give more exercises, beginning from the low levels of question to the high levels of question. It was also suggested to the teachers that they must promote a discussion to answer the questions on the texts being taught.
