In this study, researchers will examine students' problems in pronunciation errors in English and the causes of students' errors in English pronunciation. This study aims to determine the pronunciation errors and the causes of errors in pronunciation made by students in speaking English. This research is descriptive qualitative research that aims to describe students' pronunciation errors and the causes of students' pronunciation errors. The subjects of this study were second-semester students of the English language study program at the University of Bhinneka PGRI. The reason the researcher chooses this subject is the first subject that the researcher wants to examine and understand because there are some students who experience pronunciation errors and the researcher wants to know where the pronunciation errors are and what causes make their pronunciation errors. Based on the results of observations, the researchers found that students' problems in speaking English were in the vowel they were stamped. The results of the questionnaire that the researchers distributed from the entire 2nd-semester class, both class 2A and class 2B, totaling 44 students, received answers from 39 students. The results obtained from 10 interviews researchers can conclude that there are several causes of difficulty or pronunciation errors in semester 2 students at the Universitas Bhinneka PGRI including Mother Language and Personality.

The study was about improving students’ vocabulary through English song. The subject of the study were first semester students of English language study program, STKIP Persada Khatulistiwa Sintang,Academic Year 2018/2019 which consisted of 22 students. This study aimed to increase students’ vocabulary through songs.The method of this research was qualitative research and the object was teaching vocabulary through English song.This was classroom action research which consisted of one cycle.In collecting the data, the researchers used observation sheet, Fieldnotes and test. The result of this research showed that the use of song succeeded improving students’ vocabulary. The result of the test shown that  mean score was 80,25, it was good cathegory.The improvement of the teaching learning process was based on the improvement of teaching learning behaviour in the classroom. The change of behaviour was notified from the classroom observation, fieldnotes which were discussed with the collaborator in the reflection stage. Song was found out helpful to improve students’ vocabulary mastery for first semester students of English language study program, STKIP Persada Khatulistiwa Sintang, Academic year 2018/2019.Keywords: Vocabulary Mastery, English Songs

Lecture courses in the English Language Education Study Program of STKIP Setiabudhi Rangkasbitung are still conducted in face-to-face class, so the students who do not attend lectures cannot know the pronunciation material at that time, because the Pronunciation course is a practical course in the English pronunciation system. The E-Learning Pronunciation is built so that lectures can be carried out anywhere and anytime without reducing the quality of the teaching and learning process. Therefore, the students who are left behind can continue to follow the Pronunciation course material, as well as habituating students in utilizing communication and information technology. E-Learning Pronunciation is important to be built to improve the ability of students’ pronunciation when doing distance learning, so that students are clearer and more firm in understanding Pronunciation so that there are no errors in English pronunciation. Participants in this study were first semester students of English education study programs. This study uses an experimental research design with the Prototype System development method and system of testing uses Black box testing.

This research aimed to find out the students’ access to ICT application and how far ICT application helps students in mastering English language skills faced by English students of English Education Study Program at the University of Bengkulu in the 2020/2021 academic year. This research was an explanatory sequential mixed methods design. The population of this research was English students of English Education Study Program at the University of Bengkulu. The sample of this research was selected by using purposive sampling technique, totaling 80 students for questionnaire and 24 students for interview. The data were collected by using questionnaire and interview. The instruments were consisted of 15 items adapted from Dang Hoang Tri and Nhung Hong Thi Nguyen (2014). This research used Microsoft Excel to analyze the data.  The result of this study showed that students access 15 ICT applications in English learning. Also, researcher found that the majority of students have positive perception towards ICT application can help students in mastering English language skills.

As a popular manga series, Attack on Titan has various characters giving certain impression among the fandom. Two of them are Erwin Smith and Levi Ackerman. Erwin is known as an integrated and influencing commander meanwhile Levi is the humanity's strongest soldier who is also recognized as one of Erwin's closest subordinates. Their togetherness presents questions from the manga fans whether there is special relationship between them. Some fans accepted. However, there are not a few fans refused. Using systemic functional linguistics approach, the researchers try to reveal the happening tendency considering the clauses expressed by these two characters. Doing descriptive qualitative research, tenor analysis is done in the level of grammar. The researchers use criterion-based purposive sampling to get relevant data and process them from domain, taxonomy, componential, up to getting cultural theme analysis. The discussion shows complex interpersonal relationship because of considering the linguistic data findings along with their impacts towards the built social indication. This research gives new perspective for language study towards debatable thing between factions carrying particular ideology.

Decree of Dean of Universitas Gadjah Mada Vocational School no. 10/UN1.SV/SK/2017 regarding graduation requirements for Universitas Gadjah Mada Vocational School students requires a minimum TEVocS score of 60 as one of the graduation requirements. This requirement burdens students, especially the ones other than English Language study program. To be able to graduate, a number of students even had to repeat their TEVocS until they get the required score. This study aims to identify the factors causing the difficulties of UGM Vocational School Korean Language study program students in answering TEVocS questions.This research used quantitative and qualitative approaches. A total of 44 Korean Language study program students became the objects of this study. Students were asked to complete TEVocS simulation and evaluate their performance, specifically related to the factors that caused them feel difficult in answering TEVocS questions. The evaluation was done using questionnaire. The finding shows that, in general, almost all Korean Language study program students found it difficult to answer TEVocS questions. Almost all Korean Language study program students admitted that they had difficulties in both listening and speaking sections of TEVocS. These difficulties were caused by a number of factors.

Abstract. The purpose of this study is to describe the mistakes made by the students in the use of Relativ Sentence. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The data sources are students of Department of German Education, State University of Makassar. The data in this study are the sentences that contain elements Relativ Sentence from the essays made by the students. The instruments used are divided into two parts, the researcher as the primary instrument, and a table which serves as a supporting instrument. The results showed that there are still quite a lot of mistakes made use of Relativ Sentence in their essays, especially in terms of placement of the verb, in the case of the use Relativpronomen Nominativ, Akkusativ, and dative, as well as the errors in the position of relative clause. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there are still many students of the German Language Study Program in 2019 who do not understand the Relativsatz material well.

The aim of the study was to identify the effectiveness of using the combination of POWER and KWL to teach writing of fourth semester students at English Language Education Study Program in the University of PGRI Yogyakarta. It is based on the research problem that the students got difficulties on writing because they used ineffective strategy. The research used experimental research design. This research was conducted in 3 stages: data collection, action and data analysis. The data were collected through test, observation, and questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the steps of: normality test, homogeneity test, inferential analysis, determining hypothesis testing, and conclusion.The hypothesis is determined into the Null hypothesis (H0) and Alternative Hypothesis (Ha). H0 is accepted if the significance value >0.05 and Ha is rejected. The result of this research presented that the combination of POWER and KWL strategy was effective to teach writing at the university level. The control group’s mean score on the pre-test was 56,22 increased to 57,88 in post-test with gained point 1,59. The experiment group’s mean score on pre-test was 57,33 increased to 60,89 on post-test with gained point 3,66.

English language lessons have become compulsory secondary schools. Especially, in era of globalization writing is very important The purpose of this study is to investigate students' difficulties in writing recount text through Project Based Learning. This study used descriptive qualitative research. The data was gathered through questionaire. The questionnaire were administered to eight grade students of SMPN 3 Batujajar in the academic year of 2019/2020. The questionnaires consist of 5 statements related to aspects of writing. The data was analyzed descriptively.The result showed that most of students got difficulties in writing related to five aspect of writing, such as content (23,33%), grammar or language use (56,67%), organization (36,67%), mechanic (43,33%), and vocabulary (26,67%).

Formal educational practitioners tend to neglect the students’ sense of liking; we labled as Preferent learning, in order to acquire certain skill in the learning foreign language, especially speaking skills. In general, so far, issues of formal learning with the focus on bounded academic rules, cognition, and motivation have been used as the main basis for the learning foreign language and even learning in general. In fact, the individual learning, language community, social change, and sopihisticated technology need to be considered in how students acquire the skills they want based on their preferences. By investigating how the University students in Kolaka learned and improved their English speaking skills, we applied a Grounded study that involved 10 informants who were the students and alumni of the English Language Education Study Program of the University X in Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. All data were collected 12 times in 3 stages then were analyzed using three steps of Strauss and Corbin's analysis that applied theoretical sampling and constant comparison in generating the substantive theory. The findings revealed that the informants acquired the English speaking skills because of a sense of liking or preference toward any topic to learn. Further, they prefer to learn in an unpredictable ways without any rules and an informal self-evaluation were applied as a way in sustaining the skills.

Abstract: E-textbooks are also referred to as electronic books, printed downloads, or internet sources. A textbook is an ideal example of technology in active learning for university students. E-textbooks are becoming more great choice than paper textbooks. In several academic institutes at a campus like the University of Muhammadiyah Palembang, where every lecturer is allowed to have a personal laptop. Thus, it's critical to look into how e-textbooks are adopted and how they might alter students' learning processes. The purpose of this study is to see what the risks of learning are and how to optimize the solution for learning and using English e-textbook for non-English study program students. This research’s novelty provides solutions and even optimizations related to the existing advantages and disadvantages specifically faced by non-English department students in learning English through e-textbooks. The solutions and optimizations are discussed descriptively into the modern approach and innovative technology.
