The rapid growth of data accumulation has created conditions that are rich in data but lack information. Association rule is a technique for finding new information by looking for certain patterns or rules from a large amount of data that is expected to overcome these conditions. By utilizing the data name and selected prospective student study programs, it is expected to produce information about the selection of study programs for prospective new students through the Association rule technique. Student data categories are taken from data from the last 3 years. The information displayed in the form of rules, value of support and confidence of each category of study program taken.

A selection of Computer Science, Informatics or similar study programs for academic studies evidently becomes an emerging choice of a vast number of students in recent years. To address some of the open questions, we performed an 25 empirical study based on a survey, with a goal to find out the main motivating fac tors directing students to select computer science, informatics or similar programs for studying in a much greater extent. The survey was conducted on a sample of 1517 students from five well established, and most traditional faculties of computer science and informatics at three largest university cities in Serbia: Belgrade, Novi Sad, and Nis?. The created sample is representative enough to illustrate the current situation and trends common for many similar societies. Our first analyses show that the main motivating factor to select computer science or informatics study program at all faculties is a students? motivation to study just that topic, while at management faculty it is significantly less important. However, we also noticed that significant number of students wished to study something else but chose computer science and informatics due to possibility of finding jobs easier and of earning higher salaries in industry. The most important influential factors to choose a computer science or informatics major come from family members, and close relatives. The perceived brand and reputation of a faculty also plays a significant role. Students being examined prevalently tend to be satisfied with the faculty they have chosen. However, many of them see themselves leaving the country in a near or far future.

Introduction of New Student Campus Life (INSCL) is an introduction to study programs and educational programs, scientific culture and fostering student activities in universities for new students. This research is motivated by the problem of selecting students who will become Official Leaders often do not meet the criteria needed by student affairs and hinder the performance of student affairs. To overcome this problem a Decision Support System (SPK) is needed which is expected to solve problems in selecting the best Official Leader with the TOPSIS method with assessment criteria, namely GPA, Semester, Organizational Experience, Discipline, Integrity (Seriousness). The results of the application of the TOPSIS method in this study were the selection of the eight highest ranking alternatives, namely A10, A9, A8, A2, A3, A6, A7, A1 to become Official Leaders on PKKMB in AMIK and STIKOM Tunas Bangsa Pematangsiantar.

Promotion technique is one of the methods used by AMIK and STIKOM Tunas Bangsa Pematangiantar in finding new students. By developing promotional techniques that are more effective and efficient, it can produce the information needed to get new student candidates. The data that is processed in this research is the data of new student candidates who come from the AMIK New Student Admissions (PMB) and STIKOM Tunas Bangsa Pematangsiantar. Based on promotional data in 2020, there are several promotions carried out, including through print media, banners, collaboration with SMA / SMK schools in Pematangsiantar city, through alumni, and the web. Furthermore, the data is processed using Rapidminer software. The processing stages are grouped using the K-Medoids algorithm on the data of prospective students, including name, place and date of birth, address, religion, cellphone number, school origin, choice of study program and source of information. Followed by the process of improving the data so that more accurate data is obtained to be processed. The results of the testing of this method are knowing which regions are applying to AMIK and STIKOM Tunas Bangsa Pematngsiantar which are grouped into 2 clusters, namely the highest and the lowest. The K-Medoids algorithm that is used makes a big contribution by providing new information that can be used as a reference for AMIK and STIKOM Tunas Bangsa Pematngsiantar in terms of Promoting New Student Admissions in the coming year.

Using the survey research design, the study involved 24,909 YSU new students of the academic years 2005–2009. Data were analyzed quantitatively using the mean, standard deviation, frequency, and percentages. The results are as follows. First, on the university level, students attain a mean score of 367 (intermediate) with a standard deviation of 50.65 (high homogeneity). On the faculty level, they attain a mean score of 378.81 (FMIPA), 372.83 (FISE), 367.18 (FT), 363.83 (FBS), 363.77 (FIP), and 356.44 (FIK). Second, highest scores are achieved by four study programs (400 or higher), the second by 13 study programs (375 – 399), the third by 45 study programs (350 – 374), and the lowest scores by eight study programs (349 or lower). Third, the score attainment is 35.5% (Reading), 31.25% (Structure), and 27.2% (Listening).
The quantity of students for a college is of particular concern, this is because the quantity of students indirectly affects public confidence in educational institutions. In addition, the quantity of students will also affect the assessment process of the institution by the competent body or institution. So that the quantity of students is always strived to increase every year both by universities and study programs as a unit of education in it. The selection of a study program is not a question that can be decided simply. There are many determinants that prospective students should consider. From various searches of literary sources, it was found that the factor that determines the basis for choosing is attraction or attractiveness. In addition, a person's decision to make a choice often occurs very quickly sometimes less than half a minute and is influenced by the likes and beliefs. The study program in attracting prospective students must conduct study and analysis as a first step.Looking at what are the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges that may arise today, this of course becomes important because the results of this study can affect in the process of achieving organizational goals, especially in an effort to increase the number of students.

Practical courses in the laboratory are scheduled according to the institutional curriculum. In determining the choice of practice courses, the STMIK Royal Kisaran information system study program requires a system of analysis in the selection of practical subjects that provide the best choices based on the required criteria. Priority criteria are important data in the process of determining the selection of the course. This is needed to gain knowledge for study programs in the use of schedules and choice of priority practice courses. This research is a continuation of factor analysis in the selection of practice subjects where the information system study program uses the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. From the results of the analysis, it is obtained the selection of priority practice courses from several alternatives that can be useful for study programs based on priority criteria.
