A selection of Computer Science, Informatics or similar study programs for academic studies evidently becomes an emerging choice of a vast number of students in recent years. To address some of the open questions, we performed an 25 empirical study based on a survey, with a goal to find out the main motivating fac tors directing students to select computer science, informatics or similar programs for studying in a much greater extent. The survey was conducted on a sample of 1517 students from five well established, and most traditional faculties of computer science and informatics at three largest university cities in Serbia: Belgrade, Novi Sad, and Nis?. The created sample is representative enough to illustrate the current situation and trends common for many similar societies. Our first analyses show that the main motivating factor to select computer science or informatics study program at all faculties is a students? motivation to study just that topic, while at management faculty it is significantly less important. However, we also noticed that significant number of students wished to study something else but chose computer science and informatics due to possibility of finding jobs easier and of earning higher salaries in industry. The most important influential factors to choose a computer science or informatics major come from family members, and close relatives. The perceived brand and reputation of a faculty also plays a significant role. Students being examined prevalently tend to be satisfied with the faculty they have chosen. However, many of them see themselves leaving the country in a near or far future.

The aim of the paper is to identify the entrepreneurial tendency of students of the Faculty of Economics in Subotica. The subject of the research is the analysis of relationship between students’ personality traits and their intention to start their own business, as well as the existence of a difference in entrepreneurial intent, depending on gender and chosen study program attended by the student. For this purpose, an empirical research was conducted on a sample of 517 final year students at the Faculty of Economics in Subotica, University of Novi Sad. The research hypotheses were tested using the Spearman's correlation and the non-parametric Mann-Whitney test within the SPSS 20.0 program. Empirical results highlight the existence of a statistically significant correlation between personality traits such as need for achievement and need for independence on one hand and the inclination of students to start their own business on the other. Also, there is a statistically significant difference between students of different genders and study orientation and their entrepreneurial intentions. The male students and those attending the Department of Management are more oriented towards implementation of entrepreneurial activities in some period of life in comparison to female students and students who attend other study programs. The set research framework points to further guidance in encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit, as well as the key drivers for a higher level of entrepreneurial intention of students after graduating from the Faculty of Economics.

The quantity of students for a college is of particular concern, this is because the quantity of students indirectly affects public confidence in educational institutions. In addition, the quantity of students will also affect the assessment process of the institution by the competent body or institution. So that the quantity of students is always strived to increase every year both by universities and study programs as a unit of education in it. The selection of a study program is not a question that can be decided simply. There are many determinants that prospective students should consider. From various searches of literary sources, it was found that the factor that determines the basis for choosing is attraction or attractiveness. In addition, a person's decision to make a choice often occurs very quickly sometimes less than half a minute and is influenced by the likes and beliefs. The study program in attracting prospective students must conduct study and analysis as a first step.Looking at what are the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges that may arise today, this of course becomes important because the results of this study can affect in the process of achieving organizational goals, especially in an effort to increase the number of students.

Practical courses in the laboratory are scheduled according to the institutional curriculum. In determining the choice of practice courses, the STMIK Royal Kisaran information system study program requires a system of analysis in the selection of practical subjects that provide the best choices based on the required criteria. Priority criteria are important data in the process of determining the selection of the course. This is needed to gain knowledge for study programs in the use of schedules and choice of priority practice courses. This research is a continuation of factor analysis in the selection of practice subjects where the information system study program uses the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. From the results of the analysis, it is obtained the selection of priority practice courses from several alternatives that can be useful for study programs based on priority criteria.

Through a careful organization of a teaching curriculum at their Department, the authors managed to organize nice and fruitful cooperation with their students in the eLearning area. In particular, what they find as the most positive result is the fact that an excellent cooperation between students and lecturers was developed. This cooperation lead to creation of digital learning objects by the students, as a result of the requirements for passing an exam dealing with eLearning. The authors' experience is limited to the students of the computer science study program, since only a small number of students of other study programs elected this course, but the number of students they observed is large enough for qualitative conclusions. Based on a static teaching material, students developed several types of eLearning resources for various subjects, not restricted to computer science courses. Developed materials (usually) required some additional work to make them fully usable as a part of university courses. Still, generally, all of the technical work was performed, a large part of texts, images, assessment questions, and other learning objects were created, and resources typically were very usable after some additional polishing. Yet, what is probably of even a greater value is the fact that the authors managed to join several important things within this one course. First of all, and probably the most important, students were introduced to principles and methodology of eLearning in some real situation, preparing some practically usable material, thus being able to see all of the problems they might encounter in the future. Secondary, as a result, the authors received a lot of draft versions of teaching materials to improve it further, thus relaxing efforts for eLearning material creation. Finally, the most creative part of the result is the fact that these resources introduced the authors to different, sometimes rather interesting views on problems and materials in question, or on teaching methodology. Essentially it offers them new ideas, notions, and concepts to work with.

For graduates in computer science and informatics to get employment as IT professionals, there is a need for their education to provide the competence sought after by employers being aligned with the discipline. To become fully operational in the organization, the candidates typically also need to further develop their competence there, engaging in activities, and becoming familiar with the practices in the company. For a university offering master’s degrees in computer science and informatics, it is important to know the employers’ view of the relevance of the study programs and what is possibly considered to be lacking. Also, it is essential to know whether the missing part needed to become fully operational should be provided by the university. In this paper, we investigate these questions by asking employers of master students in IT. We use the framework of modes of identification by Wenger-Trayner and Wenger-Trayner to find out if the graduates are aligned with the discipline, engaged in activities, and able to imagine their future in an IT-position. A combination of in-depth interviews and a survey is used. Analysis of the findings shows that employers overall find the candidates’ competence from the university to be adequate. We argue that collaboration between university and industry is essential to this success, pointing to a set of key steps in the process from entering a study program to becoming fully operational in work life.

One of the principles of higher education is freedom in choosing a study program based on the student’s interests and abilities. These elements influence the student’s decisions in choosing a college/university. School of Health Sciences Panakkukang, one of the tertiary institutions organizing the D-3 Medical Records and Health Information (RMIK) Study Programs, is becoming an increasingly popular choice. This can be seen from the number of students enrolled (214 in 2016, 225 in 2017, 177 in 2018, and 122 in 2019). The students’ decision to choose the Study Program is influenced by cultural, social and personal factors. This study’s objective is to determine the effect of these factors on the selection of Study Programs. This research uses a descriptive analytic quantitative approach with a cross-sectional research design. The study population was 524 students with a sample of 84 respondents taken proportionally (20 first-year students, 28 second-year students and 36 thirdyear students). The results showed that the cultural and personal factors did not significantly influence the selection of D-3 RMIK Study Programs with sig. cultural factors of 0.595> 0.05, personal factors with sig. of 0.197> 0.05. While the social factors significantly influence the selection of D-3 RMIK Study Programs with sig. of 0.000 <0.05. The cultural, social and personal factors have a combined effect of 33.8%. Keywords: cultural, social, personal factors.
