This article aims to elaborate the concept of the purpose of human life as a theological foundation in Islamic education. Humans created by God have a number of predetermined goals. This research approach uses a qualitative approach with literature study methods. The results showed that there are two goals in human life that are closely related to their duties and functions as God's creatures, namely as a servant of God and as a caliph on the earth. The implication of two human goals on the process of Islamic education is how the education process forms a good servant of God and as a caliph on earth who has a responsible character, so as to realize a perfect human being.

This research was conducted to review various problems in the world of education and solutions in dealing with them. The purpose of this research is to explore Islamic and western sociological theories as a basis for spiritual pedagogic development. This study uses a qualitative approach and literature study methods. The results in this study indicate that Islam pays special attention to human potential as social beings. In the Quran, there are three sociological concepts, namely tadafu, ta'aruf, and ta'awun. The three of them are the foundation that strengthens that humans have a natural tendency to defend the truth and oppose evil, and live amid the diversity of characteristics of fellow humans. With various studies on sociology, inclusive Islamic education needs to be applied in order to foster students in caring for their relationship with God and with fellow humans. Thus, religion plays a role as a solution in the midst of human life to form a civil society, which promotes the values of monotheism in its social interactions.

Education is a process of individual continuously learning and adaptation to the cultural values and social ideals. Education is a comprehensive process including all the aspects of life to prepare them to be able to face all the challenges. Considering the definition, we will see how dominant the aspects of human life style management in order to be in accordance with the universe are. An education process is expected to produce tolerance, egalitarianism, and skills to actualize one's self in the constellation of human life dynamics. It is also expected to produce peace and harmony as a part of ideal community with the educated people as the members. It means that the education process is considered failed if it produces totalitarian cannibalism that can easily arouse conflicts among people. Therefore, the understanding of an ideal Islamic education that is accommodative to the values of plurality and brotherhood among people should emerge. Finally, the values can be the source of aspiration in rearranging the religious concept of this nation to regain the peace that has once been disappeared because of the conflict among the religious communities, through education

Based on the results of the discussion, in order to rectify the educational paradigm in Indonesia, it should initially change the secularism paradigm that has been fossilized in the world of education into the paradigm of Islam, al-Qur`an, and Tauhid. As a consequence, this paradigm will have implications for the establishment of the conceptualized education system that inevitably also affects the to-be-achieved educational objectives. In order to realize a good education system, there should be integration between the elements of education practitioners which consist of family, mosques/schools/campuses, and society. As a result, those aforementioned objectives will be successfully achieved in the moment when Islamic rules are fully implemented in all aspects of life. Therefore, it is necessary to continuously educate the public regarding the importance of implementing Islamic rules in all aspects of life, including in the aspect of education.
