Personality and social character relate to good and bad human behavior. Personality and social character are the basis for knowing oneself which can help a person to control his desires, protect himself from deviant behavior and direct his life towards goodness and harmony in behavior. The phenomenon of the emergence of various personality deviations and social characters among the younger generation is a problem that must be resolved immediately because it will lead to disharmony in the life of society and the nation. Pesantren is an educational institution that can be a solution to solving moral problems that occur. The education held at the pesantren is very relevant in developing the personality and social character of students so that they become Islamic individuals. The purpose of this study was to determine the planning, implementation, and results of personality development and social character through habituation at Nurul Amal Ciamis Islamic Boarding School. This research uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. The validity of the data in this study used triangulation techniques. The data analysis technique used is descriptive narrative. Data collection procedures use data reduction techniques, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the planning for the development of the personality and social character of students through habituation at the Nurul Amal Islamic Boarding School through the creation of curricula, program activities, preparation of teaching human resources, and the availability of supporting infrastructure. The implementation of personality and social character development is carried out by asatidz and asatidzah with habituation through annual, semester, monthly, daily and spontaneous programs. The personalities of students that are formed are the correct faith, correct worship, morality, independence, broad insight, in good health, regular in matters, guarding time, fighting lust, and beneficial to others. Meanwhile, the social characters that are formed are social care, environmental care, tolerance, communication, and responsibility.

Islamic boarding school is a religious, educational institution with its characteristics and is different from other educational institutions. Education in Islamic boarding schools includes Islamic education, da’wah, community development, and additional similar education. This research aimed to determine the relationship between Self-Control with Discipline Behavior to students memorizing the Al-Qur’an at Islamic Boarding School Darussalam Purwokerto-Indonesia. This study uses quantitative research methods. The instrument used to collect data is the Self-Control scale and the Discipline Behavior scale. The population in the study was 80 students. Researchers use the entire population, so it is called population research. The data analysis technique uses product-moment correlation. Data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 25.0 for Windows Program. The results of the research data show that there is a relationship between Self-Control and Discipline Behavior in students who memorize the Qur’an at Islamic Boarding School Darussalam Purwokerto-Indonesia has a correlation of 0.695 and a significance level of p<0.01. The results of data analysis show that there is a positive relationship between Self-Control and Discipline Behavior.

Pesantren is an Islamic educational institution that aims to develop students into generations who have high knowledge and are able to carry out Islamic aqeedah and sharia, but in the environment of Islamic boarding schools are still often found negative behaviors such as aggressive behavior committed by teenage students. This is because teenagers are often less able to control emotions. One factor the cause of the emergence of aggressive behavior is the low level of emotional intelligence. Individuals who have low emotional intelligence tend to be aggressive. This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence with aggressive behavior in Islamic boarding school students. The subjects in this study were eighth grade Muslim students of MTs who lived in the Al-Fatah Islamic Boarding School dormitory in 2018/2019, totaling 60 students taken with total sampling techniques. The method of data collection in this study uses two psychological scales namely the aggressive behavior scale of 24 items (α = 0.881) and the emotional intelligence scale of 26 items (α = 0.933). Data that has been collected later analyzed using the product moment correlation analysis technique which is assisted with SPSS 21.0 for Windows. The results showed rxy = -0,454 with p = 0,000 (p <0.01), this indicates that there is a significant and negative relationship between emotional intelligence with aggressive behavior in Al-Fatah Islamic boarding school students so that the hypothesis is accepted, the lower the emotional intelligence owned by students, students tend to have high aggressive behavior and vice versa with an effective contribution of 20.6% which is influenced by the independent variables in this study and 79.4% are influenced by variables outside the study.

Madrasah is an alternative educational institution and has the same opportunity to become an educational institution taken into account in social change dynamics. However, as a logical consequence, madrasas must develop each sector to achieve its organizational goals. This study examines the opportunities and challenges of developing madrasas, particularly those based on an Islamic boarding school. This study is a literature study, so that the method of analyzing data is by reviewing and collecting information from various references, both books and scientific articles, which are used as a material in studying and adding conceptual insights related to the opportunities and challenges of developing Islamic boarding school-based madrasas in the modern era. The literature review results show that in developing the education system into a preeminent institution and maintaining its existence, madrasas in Islamic boarding school are required to be open and accommodate the community's aspirations and demands. Madrasah needs to develop themselves to become high quality and superior madrasas and a bridge that connects with the national education system, especially those related to students' moral and personality development. This is understandable because the community hopes that educational institutions in Islamic boarding school are religious experts, have morals, and have future skills.

The dissemination of Islamic da'wah in the area of Rancakalong District, Sumedang Regency, began in 1957. At the time, a kiai (Islamic scholar) came from the southern Sumedang aiming to spread the Islamic da'wah in Rancakalong District. Before his arrival, The religious conditions of Rancakalong people are not so prominent. Although at that time, the mosques already existed in several places, but there was no religious leader who could guide the community yet to be able to prosper the mosque and other forms of religious activities. The  was called K.H. Sholeh Abdul Hafidz. This study uses qualitative methods, namely data collection through interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique is done by the heuristic, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this study indicate that K.H. Sholeh Abdul Hafidz came to Rancakalong in 1957. The initial step of the preaching carried out by K.H. Sholeh Abdul Hafidz, began with his approach to the young and the old group of the community. The contribution form of his da'wah in Rancakalong District consisted of the establishment of the Bunsiari Islamic Boarding School I, then the Majelis Taklim of Bunsiari Islamic Boarding School I, and four Madrasa Diniyah Takmiliyah which were founded by K.H. Sholeh Abdul Hafidz’schildren.

This study aimed to describe the character values in the symbolism of Ngawi Batik Srambang Park motif in art learning based on cultural diversity in elementary schools. This research used a qualitative descriptive method with a hermeneutic approach. The subjects of this study were three Ngawi Batik craftsmen. The data collection technique was done by observing, interviewing and documenting. The data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman model data analysis technique with 4 stages including data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The result of the research showed that there are values of religious character, hard work, peace-loving, friendly (communicative), environmental care, social care, responsibility, respect for achievement, love for the country, and independence in the symbolism of Ngawi Batik for Srambang Park motif. The use of Batik Srambang Park motif for learning in elementary schools had two relevance. First, character education values were reflected in Batik Srambang Park. Second, Srambang Park Batik was a two-dimensional regional art work. Thus, the learning is not only teaching about the concept of understanding the material but also teaching character values.

SMA Darussalam adalah lembaga pendidikan tingkat SLTA yang berada di bawah naungan Pondok Pesantren Darussalam. Dalam proses pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan di SMA tersebut terdapat hambatan yang dialami karena selain mayoritas siswa berasal dari kalangan Pondok Pesantren serta padatnya jadwal dari pondok sendiri tentunya menjadi faktor munculnya hambatan pembelajaran siswa maupun guru disekolah.Untuk mengetahui hambatan-hambatan yang dialami guru maupun siswa Tujuan penelitian adalah mendeskripsikan hambatan-hambatan yang dialami guru maupun siswa dalam pembelajaran biologi di SMA Darussalam. Pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara semi terstruktur dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang dilakukan dengan pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan Conclution Drawing. Keabsahan data dilakukan dengan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi tekhnik. Adapun hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan terdapat beberapa hambatan yang dialami guru biologi di SMA Darussalam diantaranya adalah salah memahami kekuatan kepribadian guru  dalam hal kedisiplinan memulai jam pelajaran masih kurang, pandangan pesimis yang dimiliki guru juga tampak, kurangnya media informasi dan terbatasnya sarana dan prasarana yang ada. Adapun hambatan yang dialami siswa diantaranya adalah aspek fisiologis, rendahnya tingkat intelegensi, hambatan dari segi sikap siswa juga terlihat karena siswa sering tidur di kelas dan faktor eksternal yang menghambat siswa juga tampak terlihat dalam aspek lingkungan non sosial khususnya pada lingkungan belajar yang kurang mendukung. Kata kunci: Hambatan  Guru, Hambatan Siswa, Pembelajaran Biologi. SMA Darussalam is a high school level educational institution under the auspices of the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School. In the learning process carried out in high school there are obstacles experienced because in addition to the majority of students coming from the Islamic boarding schools and the tight schedule from the boarding school itself, of course it is a factor in the emergence of learning barriers for students and teachers at school. To find out the obstacles experienced by teachers and students. is to describe the obstacles experienced by teachers and students in learning biology at SMA Darussalam. This research approach uses a qualitative approach with the type of case study research. The data collection technique used observation, semi-structured interviews and documentation. Data analysis was performed by data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was done by triangulation of sources and triangulation of techniques. As for the results of the research that has been done, there are several obstacles experienced by biology teachers at SMA Darussalam, including the misunderstanding of the strength of the teacher's personality in terms of discipline in starting class hours is still lacking, the teacher's pessimistic view is also evident, the lack of information media and the limited facilities and infrastructure available. The obstacles experienced by students include physiological aspects, low levels of intelligence, barriers in terms of student attitudes are also seen because students often sleep in class and external factors that hinder students are also seen in non-social environmental aspects, especially in less supportive learning environments. This study aims to discuss one of the phenomena of bilingualism (code switching) and interference as well as the factors causing the phenomenon of language bilingualism in santri conversations in Islamic boarding schools. The forms of bilingualism and interference include Javanese, Indonesian and Arabic. The approach in this research is descriptive qualitative which describes the state of the object of research based on the facts that appear as they are. The subjects of this study were the students of Al Manshur Popongan Klaten. Data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The analysis technique during the field uses the model of Miles and Huberman, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion or verification. The results of the study note that there are 55 conversational data in the Al Manshur Popongan Islamic boarding school classified as follows; internal code 7 data transfer, external code 10 data transfer. Mix codes in linguistic elements that occur namely mixed code insertion of 12 data tangible elements, mixed code 5 data tangible codes, mixed code insertion elements in clause 7 data and mixed code insertion elements in the 5 word repetition element. Factors causing code switching and code mixing are the presence of speakers, interlocutors, prestige, changes in topic of conversation, identification of social roles, the desire to explain, and the habit of speakers.

Islamic Boarding School is an Islamic educational institution that shows the existence of a subculture in Indonesia. When the wider community proudly declares realistic and calculated positivism, without circumventing this, Islamic Boarding School is one of the institutions that are still strong and remain proud of the concept of charisma. This becomes very interesting to study about this them, especially when a leader who is considered charismatic is a woman. This research was conducted to know the charismatic leadership of Nyai Hj. Umi Azizah at the Al-Khodijah Dormitory, An Nur Islamic Boarding School. The research was conducted using qualitative research methods with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the analytical technique developed by Miler and Huberman, namely performing data reduction, presentation, and verification. The analysis was carried out with the approach of the charismatic leader Max Weber. From this research, it is known that Nyai Umi is considered to have charisma by her followers, including her extraordinary ability to listen, guarded by supernatural beings, brings blessings, and has loyal followers.

The main problem in this research is how Boarding School Management of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Serang. This study aims to find and describe the content of policies, planning, management, problems, supporting factors, results achieved, and how to resolve the problems in the Implementation of Boarding School<strong> </strong>in MAN 2 Serang. This study used qualitative descriptive method approach, which is related to data collection, which aims to describe the condition and situation in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Serang. Data collection techniques used are interview, observation, documentation, and triangulation. Boarding School is an integrated educational institution between general education and 'pesantren' education as supporting of teaching learning activity in Madrasah. The aim of implementing more advance and comprehensive education, holistic, the world of science can be achieved and religious knowledge can be mastered. Boarding School management system in MAN 2 Serang is a 'semi-pesantren' system, where all students are required to live in Boarding.

Islamic boarding school is one of Islamic educational institution that plays an active role in the formation of human noble morals. Specifically in the development and fostering of student morals in order to form virtuous souls and understand Islamic values well. The Islamic Boarding School of Darul Abrar also plays a role in fostering the morals and mentality of the students, like boarding schools in general and also has a vision and mission to be achieved, one of which is become a person who a morality, this is in line with the ultimate goal of life. This study aims to determine the variety of morals efforts to foster student at the Islamic Boarding School of Darul Abrar, Bone. The research methodology in this study is qualitative, and the data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that efforts to develop moral character of female students can be done by increasing the reading of the Qur’an, applying disciplinary methods of discipline, applying the valuesof the five souls that are a reference to the boarding school, conducting through learning and moral guidance through extracurricular activities.
