Background: With the rapid development of smartphones in the market, phubbing has become popular, which is a behavior of ignoring someone in the environment because it focuses more on gadgets than on building conversations. Objective: The purpose of this study was to explore causes of phubbing, and its impact on the health of adolescents, especially students. Methods: This study employed a qualitative research design conducted in June 2021 at Halu Oleo University, Indonesia, among students in the fourth semester. Focus Group Discussion and In-Depth interviews were used for data collection. Data analysis was thematic.Result: The results showed that the students realized that an individual with phubbing behavior tends to forget the interaction activities in the surrounding environment. The duration of smartphone usage was from two hours to ten hours per day.  Phubbing is becoming a phenomenon among students due to the need to get the latest information or news during their studies. Conclusion: There are many reasons for phubbing, including obtaining updated knowledge and information that leads to social media use more often, eliminating boredom, seeking entertainment, and staying in touch with friends and parents. However, phubbing impacts physical health, such as headaches, soreness in the eyes, the strain on the neck, and mental/social health, such as anxiety, fear, discomfort, and disruption of social interactions. It is therefore recommended to remind the students not to use smartphones excessively.

The purpose of this research is to explore the perspectives of directors to determine how they define, perceive, value, build and manage corporate reputation. A qualitative research design was employed. In order to gauge director’s perspectives, 12 semi-structured, in-depth interviews were conducted with the directors of a multi-national company based in South Africa. The company operates in a highly regulated and competitive industry. The findings demonstrate that corporate reputation is indeed acknowledged as a key, intangible asset. Whilst the directors did not possess clear insight into building and managing corporate reputation, several key themes emerged. We report on their perceptions of the definitions, key dimensions and value ascribed to corporate reputation. By demonstrating the value that is associated with corporate reputation and by ascertaining that directors are indeed the appropriate custodians of corporate reputation, there will be better acceptance in introducing corporate reputation as a board room agenda item, that is well understood and implemented.

This study explores the experiences of Indo-Trinidadian youth and their self-identity. It seeks to generate an understanding of how Indo-Trinidadian youth have to negotiate their identity after migration from Trinidad to Canada. This negotiation comes as a result of their hybrid identity - racially South Asian but culturally Caribbean. Because school is the first space of socialization that immigrant youth encounter after family, this study focuses on issues faced in school. Using a qualitative research design, this study examines the personal narratives of eight (four males and four females) Indo-Trinidadian youth. The in-depth interviews with these youth bring forth the notion that Indo-Trinidadian youth are constantly reconstructing their identities as they negotiate between their Indian and Caribbean cultures. This paper highlights the challenges, that Indo-Trinidadian youth encounter as well as the ways in which they address them, essentially leading to a sense of agency for their self identity.
