One of the diseases that evoke an inflammatory reaction and affect the value of ESR is Pulmonary Tuberculosis. ESR examination suggested by ICSH is Westergren method. But there are many instances where the patient's venous blood sampling is so difficult that the blood obtained is small. One of the modification methods that can be used for ESR examination is the Micro ESR method. The purpose of this research is to know the comparison of ESR values ​​using Westergren and Micro ESR methods. The material used for this research is 3.8% citrate blood derived from 30 samples of patients with Pulmonary Tuberculosis at Krakatau Medika Hospital Cilegon. The average result of ESR Pulmonary Tuberculosis with Westergren method was 41,83 mm/hr and the mean value of ESR Pulmonary Tuberculosis with Micro ESR method was 33,03 mm/hr. The result of this research is processed by statistical test using Paired Sample T Test and got significance value (sig. 2-tailed) = 0,016. This value is smaller than the value of α = 0.05 which means there is a difference between the two examination variables, so the Micro ESR method could not be used for patients with Pulmonary Tuberculosis.

The Qur'an learning is very fundamental in Islamic education, especially in elementary education. The Qur'an is one of the subjects that must be taught to children. Early education in the Qur'an is expected to produce young people having a strong mental foundation, education not only makes children as prosperous in the world, but also provides sufficient provisions to both improve their religion and practice their scriptures. To be able to practice the Holy Qur'an correctly, children must be guided and taught how to read the Qur'an properly in accordance with the rules of true recitation. In fact the Qur'an learning at MI AL-Hidayah Mangkujajar Kembangbahu Lamongan initially tended to be monotonous for being dominated by conventional learning methods. As a result,  the Qur'an learning only produced generations that could read the Qur'an with the average ability without any sense of love and closeness to the Qur'an instead of having enthusiasm in learning it well. As time goes by, the Qur'an learning at MI Al-Hidayah has increasingly developed by applying the so-called Wafa method. This method teaches children to be able to read and memorize the Qur'an by maximizing the right brain. This is classified as a new method, but it is quite practical and fun in the learning process. The research was aimed at determining the effect of the Wafa method on the ability of children to read the Qur'an at MI Al-Hidayah Mangkujajar Kembangbahu Lamongan. The research method is quantitative with the experimental type of one group pretest-post test, data analysis techniques use the mean pretest and posttest, in addition, to testing the hypothesis it uses the Paired Sample T-Test with the SPSS 16. The results showed the influence of the Wafa method on the children ability to read the Qur'an at MI Al-Hidayah Mangkujajar Kembangbahu Lamongan. It was proven from the results of the analysis through the mean pretest formula, it was obtained a value of 82.92 and increased in the acquisition of the mean value of posttest amounted to 85.75. In addition, in the Paired Sample T-Test based on significance values with SPSS 16, it is known that the Sig. (2-tailed) value is 0,000 <0,05, because sig. (2-tailed) of 0,000 is smaller than 0.05, then the hypothesis is accepted and it could be concluded that there is an influence of the WAFA Method on the ability to read the Qur'an at MI Al-Hidayah Mangkujajar Kembangbahu Lamongan.

Through this research, it is hoped that acid-base titration learning will be more meaningful and can contribute to student creativity. PjBL model is an integrated learning that is carried out cooperatively through projects that develop student skills, so that student creativity will increase. The project given in this research is making of soap from the wrinkled oil. In the process can be attributed to the application of acid-base titration material by calculation of acid numbers and saponification numbers on the cooking oil before being processed into soap. The results of data analysis shows data significance> 0.05 which means that the data is normally distributed for pretest and posttest. The data of paired sample t-test shows that the significance obtained is 0,000 <0.05 which means that there is a significant difference between the mean value of the integrated creativity test with the acid-base titration concept before treatment is given after treatment is given. Creativity improvement were calculated using the N-Gain value resulting in an average achievement rate of 0.50 and belonging to the moderate category. Posttest results indicate that the implementation of project-based LKP is effective in improving student creativity with classically average is 81.5%.

AbstractThe method used in this research was action research applied in two cycles. This research was conducted to improve the Seventh Graders’ English vocabulary in SMP 1 PSKD, Jakarta. The 24 students of the seventh grade who participated in this study were taught vocabularies by using the TGT technique. The quantitative data, collected using tests, were analyzed by using the independent and paired sample t-test on SPSS version 22 program. The qualitative data, collected using the researchers’ diary notes, questionaire, open ended question sheets, and observation sheets, were analyzed descriptively. The results indicated that the TGT technique improved the participants’ English vocabulary, as shown by the increase of the mean scores of the tests conducted, i.e. the pre-test 55,94 (12,5%) increased to 66,81 (50%) of post-test of cycle I and to 83,23 (87,5%) of the post-test of cycle II. The statistical test also indicated that the use of TGT significantly increased the students’ English vocabulary. Based on the findings, it could be concluded that the use of TGT technique was effective to improve the seventh grade students’ English vocabulary. The aim of this study was to know the effectiveness of the use of alphabet cards game as interesting tool to explain vocabularies and it make it easier to remember their meanings. This study belongs to the quasi experimental research and presents pre-test, post test and to investigate the effect of using alphabet cards game on vocabulary mastery of commercial business administration students. The participants were the students from commercial business administration students at the third semester (N=54) of State Polytechnic Bengkalis and divided into two groups. Both groups were taught vocabulary, however, the experimental group students who are exposed to alphabet cards game and the controlled group students who received conventional method. Pre-test and post-test were given to both experimental group students and controlled group students. The score of the vocabulary tests were compared through independent sample t-test. The mean value of pre-test of experimental class was 61.35, while the control class was 52.23. After learning using alphabet card games in experimental class the mean value obtained in post-test was 78.85, while in control class was 59.04.  The improved of learning outcomes can be seen from the level of significance was 0.000 and it was lower than t test 0.000<0.05.  It means that the hypothesis null is not accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the score of the students in learning vocabulary between the experimental group and control group was significantly different. The experimental group students who learned vocabulary using alphabet cards game had increased their vocabulary mastery.

Abstract Background: HAART has been reported to be associated with a number of side effects in human immunodeficiency virus patients among which dyslipidemia is a common metabolic disorder. Methods: A facility based comparative cross-sectional study among 228 HIV positive persons was conducted from July to August 2020. Socio-demographic and clinical data were collected using structured questionnaires. Fasting venous blood sample was drawn for Lipid profiles and CD4 cell determination. Anthropometric measurement was done. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 22 for windows. Result: A total of 228 HIV patients were enrolled in the study. Prevalence of dyslipidemia in HAART naive and on HAART HIV positive persons was 61(53.5%) and 84 (73.7%), respectively. The prevalence of TC≥200 mg/dl was 50% and 30%; HLD-c<40 mg/dl was 43.8% and 36%; LDL-c≥130mg/dl was 48.3% and 28.1%; and TG≥150 mg/dl 59.6% and 39% among on HAART and HAART naïve, respectively. Age greater than 40 years (AOR = 3.27, 95% C.I: 1.47 - 7.25), blood pressure ≥ 140/90 (AOR = 16.13, 95% C.I: 5.81 - 44.75), being on HAART (AOR = 2.73, 95 % C.I: 1.35 - 5.53) and body mass index > 25kg/m2 (AOR = 1.92, 95 % C.I: 1.20 - 4.81) were identified as determinants of dyslipidemia. Conclusion: The mean value of lipid profile was significantly higher among HIV positive clients on HAART as compared to those HAART naïve HIV positive clients.

AbstractBackgroundGuidelines for venous blood sampling procedure (phlebotomy) discourage tourniquet use whenever possible. Here, we aimed to assess the Biomedical Scientists capability of not using the tourniquet in phlebotomy, which we hypothesized to be equal to 50% of the patients attended, and identifying the most frequent venipuncture site.Materials and MethodsWe selected and assigned two (BMS) with the same age (41 years) and experience (20 years) to record ten phlebotomy days, the first with prioritized and the latter with non-prioritized patients. In a simple record form, each acquired daily data for the number of attended patients, age and gender, the frequency of non-tourniquet usage and the punctured vein. To test our work hypothesis we used the two-tailed single sample t-test (p < 0.05). Differences between age-group means and non-tourniquet use means by each BMS were tested by two-tailed t-test for independent means (p < 0.05).ResultsIn 10 phlebotomy days 683 patients were attended, with males representing 43,2% of the population. We found no statistically difference between age-group means. The combined capability of non-tourniquet use was 50,5%, which did not differ from our null hypothesis, but the individual group-means were statistically different, being 33% and 66.9% in the prioritized vs non-prioritized group. The medial cubital vein was the most prone to be punctured (77,7%).ConclusionsWe have shown that performing phlebotomies without tourniquet use is possible and desirable in at least half of the attended patients, though being more limited in specific group populations. Our results provide room for quality improvement in the laboratory pre-analytical phase.Key points summaryWe assessed the capability of Biomedical Scientists not using the tourniquet in real life blood sampling procedures for diagnostic purposes.Blood was collected from at least half of the attended patients without tourniquet use.Biomedical Scientists were able to prioritize the antecubital veins without tourniquet application (medial cubital vein the most prone to be punctured - 78% of attempts).

ABSTRACTBackground: Erythrocytes Sedimentation Rate (ESR) is a test to determine the rate of erythrocytes settling blood containing anticoagulants in a vertical tube within a certain time. ESR is generally used to check and monitor for tissue damage, inflammation and indicate disease. ESR examination can be done by manual and automatic methods. LED levels in pulmonary TB patients generally have increased.Objectives: Knowing the difference in the measurement results of the erythrocytes sedimentation rate (ESR) between the Westergen manual and automatic methods in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis.Methods: Laboratory experiments with a post-test-only approach. The number of samples was 30 people and was taken by purposive sampling. The research data were obtained from the results of the ESR examination using the Westergren manual and automatic methods. Results: Examination of the sedimentation rate of healthy respondents used the Westergren method had an average of 9,40 mm/hour while in the automatic method 10,15 mm/hour. The examination of sedimentation rate of pulmonary tuberculosis respondents with the Westergren method had an average of 66,13mm/hour, while the Automatic method was 67,80 mm/hour. There was no significant difference in the mean value of ESR between the measurement method used manual Westergren and Automatic methods in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis ( p = 0,878).   Conclusion: There is no significant difference in the mean value of ESR between measurements using the manual Westergren method and automatic in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. Keywords: Erythrocytes Sedimentation Rate, Method, Westergren, Automatic  PERBANDINGAN NILAI LAJU ENDAP DARAH ANTARA PENGUKURAN METODE MANUAL WESTERGREN DAN ALAT AUTOMATIK PADA SAMPEL DARAH SITRAT PENDERITA TB PARU DI RSUD. Kadar LED pada penderita TB Paru umumnya mengalami peningkatan.Tujuan: Mengetahui perbedaan hasil pengukuran Laju Endap Darah (LED) antara metode manual Westergen dan Automatik pada Penderita TB Paru. Metodologi: Eksperimen laboratorik dengan pendekatan post test only. Jumlah sampel 30 orang dan diambil dengan purposive sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh dari hasil pemeriksaan LED menggunakan metode manual Westergren dan Automatik.  Hasil: Pemeriksaan Laju Endap Darah pada responden sehat metode Westergren memiliki rata-rata 9,40 mm/jam sedangkan pada metode Automatik 10,15 mm/jam. Pemeriksaan Laju Endap Darah pada responden TB Paru metode Westergren memiliki rata-rata 66,13 mm/jam sedangkan pada metode Automatik 67,80 mm/jam. Tidak terdapat perbedaan rata-rata nilai LED yang signifikan antara pengukuran menggunakan metode manual Westergren dan Automatik pada penderita TB Paru (p = 0,878). Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat perbedaan rata-rata nilai LED yang signifikan antara pengukuran menggunakan metode manual Westergren dan Automatik pada penderita TB Paru.Kata kunci: Laju Endap Darah, Metode, Westergren, Automatik

Backgrounds: Intellectual Disability students must be able to master the practice of personal hygiene during menstruation skills. However, to teach this skill to them is not easy. They need certain methods to learn these skills to get effective results. Video-Based Instruction is one method to teach these skills. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of Video-Based Instruction on the practice of personal hygiene during menstruation on Intellectual Disability students. Methods: This is quantitative research with pre-experimental type and one group pretest-posttest design. The data collection tool is a "personal hygiene" questionnaire. The data analysis method uses a paired sample t-test with the help of SPSS version 25. This research conducted at SLB Negeri 3 Central Jakarta with a total sample is 20 respondents selected by the purposive sampling technique. Results: Most respondents were 14 years old (20%), 7th grade (30%), get menarche at 12 and 13 years (25%). The mean score for the practice of personal hygiene during menstruation pre-test is 41.30 and post-test is 53.20. Paired sample t-test results showed that sig. (2-tailed) <0.001. Conclusion: The results showed that it received Ha, which means that there is an effect of Video-Based Instruction on the practice of personal hygiene during menstruation on Intellectual Disabilities students. The results also showed that there are mean score differences of the pre-test and post-test results, which is an increase in the mean score of the post-test results by 11,90.

At the end of a normal expiration the subject inhaled a given volume of gas mixtures containing different concentrations of CO2 in O2 from 5 to 17%. These were held in the lung for 3 and then again for 12 seconds and were then expired and analyzed. Analyses were made with an infrared analyzer and times were obtained from the graphical record. If the rate of change of CO2 tension is plotted against the mean CO2 tension a straight line results which passes through zero rate at the tension which equals the tension of CO2 in the mixed oxygenated venous blood. From the slope of this straight line it is possible to calculate the cardiac output if the lung volume and slope of the CO2 dissociation curve of the blood are known. Data are presented from 37 experiments on 10 subjects. The method is believed to be theoretically sound but has not been validated as a practical clinical method. Occasional erratic points were obtained, especially in untrained subjects. The standard error of the mean value for venous CO2 tension was 1.9 mm Hg. Submitted on July 13, 1959

Objectives: To determine the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in 6- to 23-month-old children from 4 different ethnic groups, Han, Lisu, Hani, and Bai, in Yunnan Province of China. Methods: A large cohort of 938 young children aged 6 to 23 months who were living in Yunnan, China (23°28′-27°52′ N), were selected and recruited in this study. Venous-blood sampling was conducted in all the participants, and serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] levels were measured. The children’s physical status was measured. Results: General mean serum 25(OH)D level was 21.46 ± 7.95 ng/mL, which was obtained from a total of 938 cases. No significant difference was found in age, gender, height, and weight of participants from different ethnic groups. The mean 25(OH)D level was significantly lower in children of Lisu ethnic groups compared with that of Han and Hani participants, respectively ( P < .05). In addition, Bai children had lower 25(OH)D content than Hani children ( P < .001). Among the children with 25(OH)D sufficiency, the number of Lisu participants was significantly lower than Han children ( P < .001). Conclusion: The prevalence of vitamin D deficiency varied among the ethnically different children in Yunnan, China, and significantly fewer Lisu children maintained vitamin D sufficiency compared with other ethnic children. Recognizing these ethnic differences in treating children with vitamin D deficiency may improve the therapeutic outcome.
