The study examines the impact of knowledge transfer on business performance in the manufacturing sector in Nigeria based on the sample of 20 manufacturing organizations in Shagamu local government, Ogun State, Nigeria. The data used for this study were cross sectional data that were primarily sourced from the workers of those sampled manufacturing organizations through questionnaires as the instrument of data collection and responses from one hundred and fifty-three (153) respondents. The data were analyzed using Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression technique for analysis and estimating the relationship and effect between explanatory variables and dependent variable. The findings of the study with 5% level of significance revealed that with β value .204 and t-value 2.420 (p = 0.017), trust has a direct relationship and significant effect on business performance. With β value .366 and t-value 4.826 (p = 0.000), communication has a direct relationship and significant effect on business performance. It is, therefore, recommended that management should encourage effective communication and trust among the employees, leaders to spell-out organizations objective unambiguously and also advise that management should consider making the knowledge star workers to have a feeling of participation and input in the management process.

Indonesia Central Bank (BI) initiate the redenomination program for Rupiah in order to simplify the digit of rupiah without decreasing the value of currency. This research willing to enclose the discussion and new outlook regarding the perception of micro and small firm that hypotheses as thekey element for succession of redenomination program in Indonesia. Researcher conduct cross sectional analysis on perception of redenomination program and the impact to business performanceto the owner or manager of micro and small firms. Partial Least Square method has been used to processing 120 respondent data that received during data collection process. The result shows, the owner or manager of micro and small firms perception about redenomination is significantly affect the business performance. There is also found optimism for succession of redenomination program will escalate the business performance of the owner or manager of micro and small firms. In general, focus group discussion resulting socialization and technical aspects during program implementation will be the critical phase that need to conduct by all of stakeholders (government, academia, private sectors and civil society) regarding the succession of Redenomination program in Indonesia.Keywords: rupiah redenomination, perception, business performance, micro and small firmsBank Indonesia (BI) berencana melaksanakan program redenominasi rupiah sebagai penyederhanaan nilai nominal mata uang dengan mengurangi digit (angka nol) tanpa mengurangi nilai riil (value) dari rupiah. Hasil penelitian dengan 120 responden memperlihatkan persepsi pelaku usaha terhadap redenominasi rupiah memperlihatkan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kinerja usaha. Dalam penelitian ini aspirasi yang muncul dari programredenominasi adalah positif dengan keluaran yang berpengaruh baik pada kinerja usaha mikro kecil. Secara umum aspek sosialisasi dan teknis dalam implementasi kebijakan ini adalah hal yang paling krusial yang harus dikerjakan bersama oleh seluruh pemangku kepentingan terkait suksesi kebijakan redenominasi rupiah di Indonesia.Kata Kunci: redenominasi rupiah, kinerja, usaha mikro dan kecil dan ekonomi mikro

There is no consensus regarding the effect of foreign direct investment on market concentration in the literature of foreign direct investment and the theory of industrial organization. The aim of the research is to empirically investigate this impact in the context of the manufacturing sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina. To achieve this aim we estimate the econometric model by applying ordinary least square method. The sample of 21 industries comprising manufacturing sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina was used for model estimation. Cross-sectional sample data was obtained from the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the financial reports of 4924 companies registered in the aforementioned industries for the year 2016. The results suggest that the impact of foreign direct investment on market concentration can best be described with a convex function.

The essence of local government as contained in the Nigerian Constitution is bringing government closer to the people and make them feel the impact of governance. This study examined the responsiveness of rural development to three of the attributes of public budgeting (effectiveness, openness, and adequacy) in selected local governments in Ogun State, Nigeria. The objective was to establish the functional association and interconnectedness between the explained and explanatory variables. Data were gathered through the administration of a five-point Likert scale questionnaire distributed to 800 respondents in 8 local governments in Ogun States, out of which 348, representing 43.5%, were retrieved and used for analysis. Both descriptive statistics and ordinary least square regression were utilized in the study. The result showed that three explanatory variables, namely budget effectiveness, budget openness, and budget adequacy, are positively related to rural development, although the impact of budget adequacy was shown to be insignificant. The implication is that the effectiveness of budget management and the openness of the budget in terms of transparency and accountability are more responsive and influential determinants of rural development than the adequacy of the budget estimates. The paper, therefore, recommended improvement in budget openness through more consultations and accessibility to budget information by the public as well as monitoring of projects and programs within the local council to engender development and add value to the rural dwellers.

The shortage of professional nurses in a hospital is to threaten service quality and patient safety. Inadequate compensation, no career development, and dissatisfaction can increase turnover intention. Increasing professional nurses' resilience is better than recruiting new nurses from an economic perspective. The research analyzed the effect of compensation and carrier development on job satisfaction and the impact on nurses' turnover intention in a private hospital in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. A quantitative research design with the cross-sectional approach was used. The sampling technique was simple random sampling. The samples consisted of 47 nurses who made a self-reported by filling out the questionnaire. Data analysis used Partial Least Square. The study found that compensation and career development had direct and significant effects on Turnover Intention. Moreover, compensation and career development also had indirect and significant Turnover Intention effects through job satisfaction as the intervening variable.

Population ageing; where there is growth in the percentage of older persons in the population; is becoming a worldwide phenomenon due to better healthcare and lower birth rates. The phenomenon of population ageing brings with it both challenges and opportunities. The challenges of an ageing population include social, health and economic support of the elderly. Malaysia is recognizing the need to address this issue of financially supporting an ageing population. The purpose of the paper was to investigate the impact of business on the financial well-being (FWB) of the ageing, specifically the government retirees. A questionnaire-based survey was conducted among retirees who were in business throughout Malaysia that employed a cross sectional design. Forty-one respondents were successfully interviewed. Statistical procedures for the analyses included descriptive analysis and a profile analysis using scatterplot on the perceived business performance vs financial well-being. The survey revealed that the majority of the respondents operated business in the services, trade or retail industries which were set up and fully owned by themselves. Resource wise, the majority had very low financial capital, human capital and social capital. The study provides some empirical evidence that the retirees in business may be categorized into opportunity driven and necessity driven groups. The paper concludes that there is a need to find alternative income generation methods for the necessity driven group. Making paid work accessible to the elderly must be urgently put on the national agenda.

<p>This study is aimed at examining the moderating role of demographic characteristics in facilitating breast cancer awareness among women in relation to their behavioural disposition to the disease. The study adopted the descriptive (survey) and cross-sectional research designs to elicit information from women of adult age selected across five Local Government Areas in Ogun state. The data, collected through questionnaire were analysed through the use of a variance-based SEM Partial Least Square (PLS). The result shows that demographic characteristics (age and education) had a positive significant effect and jointly explain 74.9% of the variance in the breast cancer awareness and behavioural disposition among women in the study area. The findings revealed that a significant number of women with breast cancer have not acquired useful knowledge that could potentially be used to diagnose, prevent, and manage the disease. Unfortunately, the practice of Breast Self-Examination is grossly low among Nigerian women, as a consequence, only 20-30% of the women in study areas, including professionals know of the benefits of BSE and only a smaller percentage practice BSE. There is therefore a need to educate women on the benefits of this simple life saving procedure through the consistent use of media platforms.</p>

This research aims to investigate the impact of manufacturing flexibility on business performance. The manufacturing flexibility dimensions are mix, new product, labor, machine, material handling, routing and volume flexibility. The measures for the business performance are product market performance, customer satisfaction and profitability. The impact of manufacturing flexibility on business performance has been tested using a cross sectional study employing survey methodology, conducted within five manufacturing industries in Malaysia. Data were obtained from 137 returned questionnaires, which were analyzed using correlational and regression analyses. The results of the correlation analyses indicated that the manufacturing flexibility dimensions were positively and highly correlated among themselves, thus suggesting that the dimensions were interdependent. Meanwhile, the findings of the regression analyses provided support for the idea that manufacturing flexibility has a positive and significant impact on business performance. In other words, manufacturing flexibility improves business performance. In conclusion, this empirical research provides insights and a better understanding about the relationship between manufacturing flexibility and business performance. This research allows researchers/practitioners to gain in-depth knowledge about the concept of manufacturing flexibility and its impacts.

The focus of this study was on the impact of bank and non-bank financial institutions on the growth and development of the Nigerian economy. In an attempt to achieve the objectives of the research, data for the period 1992 to 2012 were collected from the CBN publications. Hypotheses were also formulated. The data collected were analysed using the E-views econometric software under the ordinary least square (OLS) regression analysis. The study as confirmed by the result of the joint test revealed that the financial institutions play prominent role on the growth and development of the Nigerian economy. However, it was further revealed that individual contributions of the explanatory variables varied. For example, the Deposit Money Banks were revealed to have impacted very insignificantly to the growth and development of the Nigerian economy. This may not be unconnected with the unwholesome practices in the banking sector such as granting of loans/advances to “ghost” applicants, diversion of loans and advances granted, high incidence of moral hazards. In view of the above, it is recommended among others that government should come up with lending policies that will not only reduce diversions of bank loans/advances but will deter persons involved in such sharp practices. Such loans and advances which must be on long-term basis should be extended to needy investors in the real sector. Consumer loans and also loans and advances for commerce do not play prominent role in the growth and development of the economy and thus should be discouraged. The current and on-going reforms in the financial sector should be encouraged and maintained.

The MSMEs is a sector that has a very large role in increasing the economic growth of the Indonesta state. Garut Regency of West Java utilizing the wealth and potential they have by making MSMEs as employment. One factor that has a very umportant role in the development of MSMEs is precisely the Dodol Industry itself is marketing but there are still many who use traditional marketing. This study aims to analyze the influence of Entrepreneurial Marketing on business performance at dodol centers in Garut Regency.   This study aims to determine the effect of Opportunity Focus, Proactiveness, Customer Intensity, Innovation, Risk Taking, Resource Leveraging, and Value Creation on Business Performance. The population in this study were business actors in the dodol center of Garut Regency, which amounted to 156 business actors with a sample of 70 respondents. This study uses a non-probability sampling technique that is Purposive sampling. The data analysis technique in this study is descriptive with data analysis of Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square by performing data processing using SMART-PLS 3.0. The results of this study are that Customer Intensity, Innovation, Risk Taking, Resource Leveraging, and Value Creation have a significant effect on Business Performance, while Opportunity Focus and Proactiveness have no significant effect on Business Performance. From the r-square results that the seven independent variables witch is Entrepreneurial Marketing simultaneously contribute influence of 60.1%, which has moderate value.

The aim of our research is to identify how the effectiveness of motivation and job satisfaction of employees contribute to the success of agricultural companies in Slovakia. The research sample consists of 757 employees in agricultural companies in Slovakia. Baron and Kenny’s mediation model and regression ANCOVA (analysis of covariance) were also used. The hypothesis that the dependence of the business performance on the effectiveness of motivation of the employees is mediated by their job satisfaction has been confirmed. An important finding is that the direct relationship between the business performance of agricultural companies and the effectiveness of employee motivation is not significant. However, the variable that transmits this effect, respectively mediates the impact of the effectiveness of employee motivation on business performance, is the job satisfaction of employees. A significant relationship between the effectiveness of motivation was found mainly among financial motivators, which points to the problematic nature of this motivational setting. Significant influencing factors include age, education and job position. As the effectiveness of financial motivation and satisfaction was highest in these groups, it is possible to start applying new trends in employee remuneration to other groups that have not shown such a connection to such a significant extent.
