Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) play an important role in the economic development of a country. On the other hand, one of the main factors that leads to organizational success is leadership effectiveness. In addition, many researchers argue that leadership effectiveness can improve organizational performance. Therefore, in order to contribute to economic growth, it is crucial to understand and evaluate the leadership effectiveness. Some researches carried out studies to introduce the dimensions of leadership effectiveness, although there is a lack of research to prioritize these dimensions to effectively guide leaders on how to improve their effectiveness. The chapter aims to prioritize dimensions of leadership effectiveness in SMEs, specifically Malaysia digital service SMEs. The applied research method in this chapter is a quantitative method using analytical hierarchy process (AHP) technique. Furthermore, in this chapter, leadership effectiveness dimensions have been evaluated by practitioner and academician experts in the Malaysia SME context.

In Germany, the discourse about the incomerelated parental leave policy introduced in 2007 and its legitimisation strongly depends on its effects in the context of certain goals. However, the question of which goals the parental leave policy actually has, is answered controversially in the arenas of politics, media and science. This article shows the characteristics of the different discourses about the parental leave policy in these arenas and the mechanisms behind their interaction. Empirically, frequency analyses and valency analyses of newspapers between 2004 and 2012 are carried out which are combined with content analyses of documents of the German Federal Parliament. The analyses confirm that the different goals can be categorised into five groups. The results show that the definition of goals is the key for understanding the discourses and the public judgement of the parental leave policy. OLS regressions show that the main factors for a positive or negative disposition in the media are the initial reason for the article and the number of considered goals. Hence, for politicians, a communication strategy stressing all five goals is promising.

Peter and the wolf is an intermedial work based on a folk tale originally written and composed by the Russian composer Sergey Prokofiev in 1936 (Hanson and Hanson 1964). Since few recent adaptations of the work in Afrikaans exist, a combined intermedial project was undertaken to recreate the work using practice-based research. The stages of this research method have brought forth a poetic text, the realisation of the original music, illustrations, and a voice artist to read the created text. To accomplish the final artistic product, it was important to obtain a theoretical foundation of practice-based research, intermediality, adaptation and the different media involved in the created word. The intermedial effects between the different media in the project provided the results of the study, stemming not only from the readers’ simultaneous experiences of the media as they read or listen to the work but, as it also became clear, from the mutually complementary effects between the different media of which their combination provided a richer final product.

The lecture method is one of the methods that are often used by teachers in teaching and learning activities. This method is a method that is easy to implement and also cheap, because without the media and infrastructure it can be done. Some people underestimate this method and some even argue that it is outdated and left behind. According to the author's observations, this method remains relevant in any situation and condition, especially if a teacher is someone who is proficient in communicating and understanding the psychological condition and level of ability of the students he or she faces. The point is khootibunnaasa 'alaa qodri uqulihim (speak to humans according to their level of knowledge). The writing of this article uses the library research method, namely by digging and reviewing the literature that is related to the theme of writing this article. The results of the study and the author's study related to this lecture learning method are still very relevant and effective, especially during this covid-19 pandemic. By taking into account the following points; first, a teacher understands the science of communication well, second, understands the psychological condition of the audience/students, third, is able to touch students' emotions, fourth, includes elements of humor and is good at telling stories, fifth, is able to use social media and technology well.
