Arabic Language as Arab Characters Related to Arabic Language Alphabet

All languages in this universe have a rich history behind them and culture among the people who speak them. Arabic calligraphy is a timeless craft that has resounding relationship with the Arabic culture and Islamic heritage. The word calligraphy originated from Greek words, namely kallos and graphos, which mean beauty and writing, respectively. Many calligraphic works may seem effortless at a glance, but that is not the case as calligraphy requires keenness and the final piece is as a result of accurate and measure brushstrokes. This chapter is going to look at and analyze the different artwork and calligraphy works related to the Arabic language that have significance to the Arabic world and Muslim culture.

Mappila Muslim culture is a mixture of Indian and Arabian traditions and its origin can be traced back to pre-Islamic Arabia. There are many references for tracing Mappilas origin into pre Islamic Arabia. It is believed that Arab Merchants travel to Malabar frequently even before Islam emerged in Arabia. Their historical specificity granted them a unique language, culture, religion, and social life. Cultural assimilation was one of the most notable aspect in Mappila history. The marriage of Hindu women to the Arabs historically helped to form a new progeny called Mappila. When Islam was introduced into the Kerala coast, the people who are known as Mappila did not change totally, they did not accept Arabic as their mother tongue and they did not want to give up Malayalam. Instead they invented a new language, Arabi-Malayalam, to community within the community. This new language played an important role in shaping and negotiating Mappila identity. They faced immense crisis of both the identities of Arab and Malayalam. When they faced a crisis to accommodate both into the community and the larger Malabar, Mappila invented a new way to express and share identity. This is Arabi- Malayalam language which was a religious necessity for Mappila. The rich tradition of this community written language reflects a rich history of cultural interactions, as it is a sensitive barometer of social and historical conditions of the Mappila community.

In the countless conversations about U.S. immigration policy that I have had with Mexican Americans of varied backgrounds and political orientations, seldom have my interlocutors failed to remind me that “We were here first,” or that “This was our land and you stole it from us.” Even a moderate Mexican American politician like former San Antonio Mayor Henry Cisneros sounds the same theme in a national news magazine:It is no accident that these regions have the names they do—Los Angeles, San Francisco, Colorado, Montana.…It is a rich history that Americans have been led to believe is an immigrant story when, in fact, the people who built this area in the first place were Hispanics.

The study dealt with the issue of teaching Arabic calligraphy skills using technology with the aim of making a decision towards including them in the Arabic language courses, and to achieve the goal of the study, the two researchers used the descriptive survey method and an electronic questionnaire was designed to refer to the study population consisting of all teachers, teachers, supervisors and Arabic language supervisors who specialize in teaching them in the universities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Participants in the referendum (400) individuals, then the opinions were treated statistically using percentages, and the percentage of supporters and opponents limited its teaching and the reasons for each team. The result appeared in favor of the opponents by 85.4%, and among the most important reasons for the opposition is that the teaching of calligraphy is a basic written skill that must be studied and practiced in a real, tangible, real way that must be taught by hand and the student’s training in it in order to acquire the skill and develop away from technology, and the percentage of supporters was 14.6% and one of the most important reasons for their support The student’s use of the computer is a modern skill that the student needs a lot. So I think the time has come to take advantage of the long training time on the skills of beauty and speed in training the student to use the keyboard quickly, and teach him from the location of choosing fonts, and perhaps it will evolve to his teaching using Arabic script in the letter And other skills.

This paper tries to review the issue of Arabicization through languages policy in the Sudan by tracing the different periods of the ups and downs of this process in its social and political context. Arabization and Arabicization are two terms used to serve two different purposes. Arabization is the official orientation of the (ruling group) towards creating a pro-Arab environment, by adopting Arabic culture, Arabic language in addition to Islam as main features of Arabizing the Sudanese entity. The mechanism towards imposing this Arabization is through the use of Arabic, as the official language the group (government). Arabicization is an influential word in the history of education in Sudan. The Sudan faced two periods of colonialism before Independence, The Turkish and the Condominium (British-Egyptian) Rule. Through all these phases in addition to the Mahdist period between them, many changes and shifts took place in education and accordingly in the Arabicization process. During the Condominium period, the Christian missions tried strongly to separate the South Region from the North Region, and to achieve this goal the government fought against the Arabic language so it would not create a place among the people of the Southern Sudan. But in spite of all the efforts taken by the colonialists, Arabic language found its place as Lingua Franca among most of the Southern Sudan tribes. After independence, the Arabicization process pervaded education. Recently, the salvation revolution also has used Arabicization on a wider range, but Arabicization is still future project. Both Arabization and Arabicization are still controversial issues.

This concluding chapter argues that late Roman Syria was a place where linguistic frontiers did not translate into cultural boundaries. The Arab conquests of the seventh century did not change this; instead, the prestige their new scripture enjoyed added a third literary language, Arabic, to the mix of a region with an already rich history of intercultural exchange. Moreover, religious dynamics continued as they had for centuries—viewed against the background of post-Chalcedonian Christian–Christian interaction, the scope and nature of Christian–Muslim interaction looks very familiar. Ultimately, in trying to place the existence of the Middle East's population of simple Christians not just into this story, but at its center, this book has attempted to capture some of the excitement and interest of this process in a way that does justice to all of the people living there, not just a small subset of them.

The tradition of questioning Brahmanical hegemony and the endeavour amongst Dalits to construct an identity of their own has a prolonged and rich history and reminds us of the post-colonial identity politics. The search for identity makes the Dalits fight against every form of discrimination. In order to give vent to dissent and to formulate Dalit identity, autobiography plays a seminal role. The autobiographies focus on the struggle of the people inhabiting the fringes of the society and their courage to fight against all odds that come their way. This article focuses on Surviving in My World: Growing up Dalit in Bengal, the English translation of Bangla Dalit writer and activist Manohar Mouli Biswas’ autobiography, Amar Bhubane Ami Benche Thaki, where the writer-activist does not only depict a world of deprivation and discrimination, but delineates a world saturated with love, care and joy for each other. The article tries to find out how irrespective of insufferable exploitation and humiliation the Dalits retain their positivity and reclaim their identity with the dignity and glory of human beings.

Dusun Klampok, Giripurwo Village, Purwosari District, Gunungkidul Regency, DIY consists of 469 families with a population of 1.543. Of the total population in Dusun Klampok, only a few of them have mastered the ability to use Arabic in their rituals, especially worship rituals that use loudspeakers and are heard by many people such as Friday sermons, recitations of prayer prayers, and azan prayers. Terefore, the community service team of the Arabic Literature, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Gadjah Mada University took an initiative to conduct an Arabic language training program for the people of Dusun Klampok. The implementation of the program is carried out through several stages, namely (1) meetings with community leaders; (2) public lectures; and (3) intensive training. Tis community service activity has been successfully carried out in accordance with the goals and objectives planned at the beginning of the activity. Te community of Dusun Klampok hopes that the training can be carried out continuously, so that there will be more Arabic (in liturgy) that can be improved.=================================================================Dusun Klampok, Desa Giripurwo, Kecamatan Purwosari, Kabupaten Gunungkidul, DIY terdiri atas 469 kepala keluarga dengan jumlah penduduk sebanyak 1.543 jiwa. Dari total penduduk yang ada di Dusun Klampok, hanya sedikit dari mereka yang memiliki kemampuan berbahasa Arab dalam ritual ibadah mereka, terutama ritual ibadah yang menggunakan pengeras suara dan didengar oleh banyak orang seperti khotbah Jumat, bacaan imam salat, dan azan salat. Oleh karena itu, Tim Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Prodi Sastra Arab, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Universitas Gadjah Mada berinisiatif untuk melakukan program pelatihan bahasa Arab peribadatan bagi masyarakat Dusun Klampok. Pelaksanaan program tersebut dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu (1) pertemuan dengan tokoh masyarakat; (2) ceramah umum; dan (3) pelatihan intensif. Kegiatan pengabdian ini telah berhasil dilaksanakan sesuai dengan sasaran, maksud, dan tujuan yang disusun pada awal kegiatan. Masyarakat Dusun Klampok berharap pelatihan dapat terlaksana secara berkelanjutan sehingga akan ada lebih banyak lafaz bahasa Arab peribadatan yang dapat diperbaiki.

  Arabic language is exposed to many negative linguistic manifestations, such as the phenomenon of widespread grammatical error in social media. The aim of the current study is to monitor grammatical errorin in social media and to identify factors affecting mistakes for (prepositions, conjunctions). The study also seeks to investigate the impact of grammatical variation on the understanding and to detect the effect of grammatical erroron Level. In order to verify the validity of the hypotheses and to answer all the questions, the researcher used the statistical analytical descriptive method in order to obtain the study data. invention “Application third party” by the researcher to correct mistakes among people in social media. The study sample consist of only 200 sentences from (2016 to 2018). with many Arab political and social events occurring in this period, so the social media has become an important and influential medium in the Arab world. The main of results of research was descriptive and statistical results: The Mistake was just in conjunctions, prepositions; because the people used it misplaced. The mistake in the prepositions were %82, while the mistake in the conjunctions just %17.

The Islamic art has developed from different kind of visual art. Arabic calligraphy is one of the most prominent arts starting from the revolution of the Quran and has a long history. This paper will help to provide some sources of information that can be used by people who would like to understand and study the Islamic calligraphy and Islamic art. Also, this paper is connecting the Arabic language to universal spirituality and express how Arabic calligraphy has become a prominent feature in Islamic world. Indeed, this paper provides a brief of the long history of Islamic calligraphy, explains about some of various of Arabic fonts style, and some important Quranic colour that has significant in the Islamic culture. Arabic calligraphy, which is also known as Islamic calligraphy, has a long history of development starting from the first written form of the Quran, in the early 7th century. The Arabic calligraphy art presents how to understand and appreciate its varied styles and modes. Calligraphers start creating their art by using some passages from the Quran or Arabic poems as a starting point then they develop their compositions in a complex and intricate piece of art by the overlap of Arabic letter and words that integrate. Arabic calligraphy is about movement, rhythm and dynamism as seen through the calligraphic marks in most mosques or Islamic building or Islamic calligraphy painting. Islamic calligraphy presents the aspect of aesthetic principles and demonstrate the love for Arabic language and culture with the aesthetic methods of traditional Arabic art.
