The text explores the relationship between Pestalozzi and Fichte. The author argues that, with the exception of Kant, Pestalozzi had probably the strongest influence on the development of Fichte’s philosophy, and especially on his placing education in the focus of his philosophy. The influence of Pestalozzi on Fichte is most visible in Fichte’s critique of the existing education and the construction of a completely new conception of educational activity. It is at this point that Fichte directly relies on Pestalozzi’s insights into the importance of independence and self-activity in pedagogical practice. At the same time, there are significant differences between the two of them, clearly visible in Fichte’s conception of national education. This conception of Fichte must by no means be viewed only from the context of The Addresses to the German Nation but must be viewed as a whole of the development of Fichte’s philosophy, and especially in relation to the historical and educational circumstances that prevailed at the time. Keywords: education, independence, self-activity, selfishness, nation.

The National Education Standard is one of the government's efforts to achieve equitable quality education. National Education Standards include eight outcomes, namely Graduation Competency Standards, Content Standards, Process Standards, Assessment Standards, Educators and Educators Standards, Facilities and Infrastructure Standards, Management Standards, and Financing Standards. This research was conducted to classify elementary and junior high schools in Indonesia based on SNP using the Fuzzy C-Means method. Prior to the cluster analysis, the missing value imputation was carried out using regression. The variables that have the lowest median and average value are the standard variables of educators and education personnel, while those with the highest value are the process standards. Based on the results of grouping using C-Means, the optimum number of clusters is four clusters with the most members being cluster 1 (the best cluster). Keywords: Education; Clustering; Fuzzy C-Means; imputation missing value

This article describes an innovative approach to professional development designed to challenge teachers’ pedagogic practice and assumptions about educational technologies such as social media. Developing effective technology-related professional development for teachers can be a challenge for institutions and facilitators who provide this support. To contend with this challenge, we drew on Bain’s (2004) “baker’s dozen” questions to guide the design of an online postgraduate course for teachers. This article discusses the design of the online course and what teachers came to understand about the relationship between social media and teaching as a result of completing the course activities. This small-scale case study utilised qualitative data from three cohorts of participating teachers and found that teachers do change their pedagogical practice and assumptions about social media for their own teaching contexts when they engage in course activities that challenge their existing mental models and encourage critical reasoning and reflection on learning.

It was investigated that local lore studies were carried out on the one hand by Polish research and ethnographic societies, which used the support of the academic institutions of Poland, and on the other hand - Ukrainian local lore centers based on the cultural and educational centers of Western Ukraine, in particular on the Scientific Society of them. Shevchenko, «Prosvita», museum institutions, etc. And certain achievements of the local lore movement in Volhynia became possible to a large extent due to the active work of Prosvita in Kremenets, whose figures influenced the formation of the national consciousness of Ukrainians. On the basis of the analysis of the source base of the research, the investigator presents the facts of the opening of the Ukrainian gymnasium named after Ivan Steshenko, which began functioning on October 1, 1918, and became the focal point of the national life of Ukrainians in the region. At the request of Kremenets' Prosvita, the Ministry assigned her the name of Ivan Steshenko, an active figure of the UPR, the Minister of Education. The opening of the gymnasium was a major event in the life of the region, as it began its activity as a state and was the only Ukrainian secondary school in the whole county. Study of the Ukrainian language and history of Ukraine in the gymnasium was mandatory. The first director of this educational institution was Sergey Milyashkevich, and later in different years of activity – I. Rey, Kobrin, L. Kontsevich. Kremenets Gymnasium was famous for its pets: Ulas Samchuk, Oksana Lyaturinskaya, Cyril Kutsyuk-Kochinsky, Maria Kavun-Kreminyarivska, who became famous writers. Many students of the high school distinguished themselves in the field of Ukrainian writing, education and culture. The attention has been emphasized on Mykola Medvetsky (pseudo Hrin) as the leader of the rebel formation, who belonged to the secret youth organization «Yunak», which had appeared in an educational establishment. The indisputable role of the gymnasium in forming the intellectuals of the region, which left a significant trace not only in the history of Kremenets but also throughout Ukraine, is noted. The author concludes that the Ukrainian gymnasium named after Ivan Steshenko at that time became the center of the historical and ethnographic movement in the region. In spite of the interference of the then system in scientific life, obstacles on the part of the authorities, the Ukrainian gymnasium did a lot for the national revival of the region, contributed to the establishment of national education. The article reviews the use of computer technologies at different stages of the lesson and its combination with other techniques and methods of educational activity, as well as observations of practical activity of teachers in special (remedial) schools. The article also evaluates the potential of geography as an academic subject in a special (remedial) school. A lesson of geography in a special school meaningfully integrates the knowledge of nature, society and humans, through which systematization and expansion of understanding objects and phenomena of the surrounding environment is exercised in the students. Geography as a subject of natural science curriculum offers significant opportunities for the development of elementary knowledge on objects and phenomena of animate and inanimate nature, the relationship and interdependence of humans and nature in students with hearing impairment; enriching personal experience of children as a result of systematic observations; the development of required practical skills in the students. The researchers note the significant role of geography lessons in remediating mental and psychological deficiencies in students from special (remedial) institutions. Geography as a subject in a special (remedial) school has an exceptional importance for the overall development of the students. The use of computer technologies in teaching geography to children with hearing impairment is difficult due to the lack of specially designed electronic aids, particularly taking into account the age and mental development of children in this category and guidelines for working with modern TME.The researchers emphasize the significance of visualization in the process of teaching geography to students with hearing impairment as well as note the need for a reasonable combination of verbal, visual and practical methods. This article presents the results of ascertaining experiment and the results of a survey among teachers. Observations of the educational process and surveying the teachers of special (remedial) schools at the stage of the ascertaining experiment revealed the basic forms, tools, techniques and methods of teaching geography to students with hearing impairment.
