This study aims to highlight the guiding, and moral role that the Malaysian Foundation for Islamic Development presents in all aspects of Malaysian life as a complete and comprehensive method advocated by Islam as a law that draws from the Sharia and its provisions based on the prophetic saying: “The permissible is clear, and the forbidden is clear, and there are suspicious matters between them that many people are not aware of…”. It also shows that Malaysian Foundation for Halal food act rely on consuming Halal meet only, with permissibility to benefit from slaughtered animals' skin as pure material which was given to us by Allah. The study also shows the Foundation’s interest in following up the non-Muslim community’s treatment of animals, and that they should treat them with respect and care. The Foundation advocates to perform slaughtering animals as stipulated in Shariah, avoiding electric-shock of animals, or throwing them in an inhuman manner. In order to make this goal a reality on the ground, the Foundation appeals to the regulatory authorities to follow up the implementation of the standard specifications for halal products. The Malaysian foundation focuses on halal food ingredients, cosmetics products, medicines, and other Halal related products that are useful to the mankind, accompanied by ethical standards. The researcher relied on the descriptive and deductive analytical method, with the aim to reach the desired outcomes. The study includes two axes: First, it deals with the role of the Malaysian Development Foundation in supervising exports and imports of Malaysian food and medicine products. Second: it studies the situation of the (Halal) brand logo on Malaysian products assessing its profitability in international trade arena and Shariah supervisory professionalism which is adhered to by the Foundation

This study aimed to provide pharmaceutical care for the general community served by Pharmacy students from the Pharmacy School of the State University of Maringá [Universidade Estadual do Maringá] (UEM). Pharmacotherapeutic follow-up was performed with the identification, classification and resolution of drug-related problems (DRPs) through pharmaceutical consultations. A descriptive analysis was conducted. A total of 59 patients were interviewed; they were mostly women (75%) with average age of 63 years, and each of them was taking 8 medicines on average. The most frequently mentioned drugs were classified according to the Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical Code and related to cardiovascular system (28%), alimentary tract and metabolism (23%), and nervous system (20%). An average of 1.49 DRP per patient was detected (88), and treatment non-compliance was the most frequent DRPs found (45%). In view of this, 63 pharmaceutical interventions were carried out, with most of them (52%) being related to patient education on the treatment; approximately 20% of the patients were referred to another health professional. Information supplied by this study shows the relevant role of pharmacists face the lack of pharmacotherapeutic follow-up of polymedicated patients.

Cosmetic products are essential items in everyday life and directly related to a good quality of life. This branch has been steadily growing in Brazilian market even in the midst of the economic crisis. Thence, it is the role of the Brazilian National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) to establish standards, guidelines and surveillance actions in relation to these products. In this work, we therefore aimed to perform the descriptive analysis of cosmetics which were considered by Anvisa as irregular products between 2009 and 2020. Results were evaluated according to the following attributes: companies; motives; products; and inspection actions. The analysis encompassed a total of 872 notifications, which showcased that the majority of companies with irregular products are located in the Southeast region (64%), mainly in São Paulo. There was an expressive degree of recurrence of the notified companies, which together were responsible for 40% of the total withdrawals. The most frequent motivations for the application of sanctions were: the absence of product registration/notification (35.3%); quality deviations (25.9%); and the lack of a business license (20.0 %). The most commonly withdrawn products were those for hair use, which may indicate strong relation with the use in beauty salons. In addition, there was a large increase in the irregularity of antiseptic gels in 2020. The number of revocations was low, what suggests lack of adequate quality management in the notified companies. In conclusion, Anvisa has fulfilled its institutional objective of standardization, thereby establishing and enforcing adequate product safety countrywide.

AbstractWe built a rig to perform patch-clamp and extracellular recordings from the same neuron in vivo. In this setup, the axes of two micromanipulators are precisely aligned and their relative position tracked in real-time, allowing us to accurately target patch-clamp recordings to neurons near an extracellular probe. We used this setup to generate a publicly-available dataset where a cortical neuron’s spiking activity is recorded in patch-clamp next to a dense CMOS Neuropixels probe. “Ground-truth” datasets of this kind are rare but valuable to the neuroscience community, as they power the development and improvement of spike-sorting and analysis algorithms, tethering them to empirical observations. In this article, we describe our approach and report exploratory and descriptive analysis on the resulting dataset. We study the detectability of patch-clamp spikes on the extracellular probe, within-unit reliability of spike features and spatiotemporal dynamics of the action potential waveform. We open discussion and collaboration on this dataset through an online repository, with a view to producing follow-up publications.PrologueOur efforts to record from the same neuron in vivo using patch-clamp and dense extracellular probes have resulted in three outputs: a publicly-available dataset (http://bit.ly/paired_recs), a manuscript, and a code repository (http://bit.ly/paired_git). Together, these three components form the publication arising from the experiments we have performed. The role of the dataset is to be downloaded and re-used. The role of the manuscript is to describe the experimental methods through which we acquired the dataset, explain it and showcase which types of questions it can be used to address. The repository has two roles: first, promoting reproducibility and error correction. By making our analysis and figure-generation code freely-available, we wish to make our analysis procedures clear and enable the reader to reproduce our results from the raw data, alerting us to any potential mistakes. Second, the repository will form a living, dynamic and interactive component of the publication: a forum for open collaboration on this dataset. Any interested scientists can contribute to it, joining us in detailed exploration of these recordings with a view to producing follow-up publications in which they will be credited for their input. Why did we opt to publish this way? The first reason is that the very nature of the project we here describe – recording the same neuron with patch-clamp and extracellular probes – invites an open science and open source approach. This is because the primary use of this type of “ground truth” validation data is to aid the development of new sorting and analysis algorithms, as well as to benchmark and improve existing ones. The second reason is that despite being conceptually very simple, this project generated a large and complex dataset that can be tackled in many ways and used to address different types of question. Some of these questions are beyond the reach of our analytical expertise; others lie even beyond the scope of our scientific imagination. By releasing the dataset and providing a repository for scientific discussion and collaboration, we aim to maximise its scientific return to the community. Instead of having each interested research group work in isolation, we hope that by encouraging collaboration and discussion between peers we can foster synergy between them that will lead to work of greater scientific value.Although datasets like ours are exquisitely suited for such an approach, we believe this publication strategy needs to become more widely adopted in neuroscience. We were pleased to note recent publications spontaneously and independently using similar approaches1-4, in what may well be evidence of convergent thinking. Perhaps the time has come for new publication and collaboration paradigms. We will elaborate on this subject during the Epilogue. For now, let us get back to electrophysiological recordings, before we begin an experiment on scientific collaboration.

Abstract. Background: Little is known about the role of resilience in the likelihood of suicidal ideation (SI) over time. Aims: We examined the association between resilience and SI in a young-adult cohort over 4 years. Our objectives were to determine whether resilience was associated with SI at follow-up or, conversely, whether SI was associated with lowered resilience at follow-up. Method: Participants were selected from the Personality and Total Health (PATH) Through Life Project from Canberra and Queanbeyan, Australia, aged 28–32 years at the first time point and 32–36 at the second. Multinomial, linear, and binary regression analyses explored the association between resilience and SI over two time points. Models were adjusted for suicidality risk factors. Results: While unadjusted analyses identified associations between resilience and SI, these effects were fully explained by the inclusion of other suicidality risk factors. Conclusion: Despite strong cross-sectional associations, resilience and SI appear to be unrelated in a longitudinal context, once risk/resilience factors are controlled for. As independent indicators of psychological well-being, suicidality and resilience are essential if current status is to be captured. However, the addition of other factors (e.g., support, mastery) makes this association tenuous. Consequently, resilience per se may not be protective of SI.

The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia is attacking not only public health but also the economy. The presence of Covid-19 has many important impacts on developed countries. There are at least four industries most impacted by this pandemic, including households, MSMEs, companies and the financial industry. However, the halal industry is believed to be more resilient to the Covid-19 pandemic. This durability is because of the principles attributed to the halal sector, namely the importance of fairness, balance and openness. The author’s goal is therefore to carry out more in-depth research on the role of the halal industry in supporting the national economy, which is under pressure because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This type of study is a literature review with a material analysis approach that explores the conditions of the halal industry in Indonesia in depth. The material received is as books, published information, and online news. The findings of this study reveal that there are three halal business sectors that are believed to be more vulnerable to the Covid-19 pandemic in order to facilitate national economic recovery. Halal finance, halal food and halal fashion industries are among them. Halal finance from both the banking sector and the Islamic stock market has proved to be more robust than the mainstream financial sector. Besides guaranteed halal food, its wellbeing is also guaranteed, and halal fashion is now on the rise as Muslim fashion is increasingly innovative and global. We believe the three of them to have experienced vigorous growth, and also to continue to draw customers. And also after the Covid-19 pandemic, these three sectors could survive. Thus the halal industry also contributes to Indonesian economy.
