مقالة بحثية المسؤولية الاجتماعية لجامعة شقراء من وجهة نظر أعضاء الهيئة التدريسية مهنا محمد العصيمي سعد مساعد الشيباني المملكة العربية السعودية الملخص: هدفت هذه الدراسة لبيان دور جامعة شقراء في خدمة المجتمع المحلي أو المسؤولية الاجتماعية وبيان الصعوبات التي تواجه هذا الدور، وقد استخدم الباحثان الأسلوب الوصفي التحليلي للوصول لنتائج هذه الدراسة من خلال تصميم استبانة تم توزيعها على أفراد عينة الدراسة، وقد أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن الجامعة تقوم بدور في خدمة المجتمع المحلي وذلك في عدد من الجوانب المختلفة، مثل إسهام الجامعة في تأهيل الموظفين في المجتمع المحلي من خلال عقد دورات مختلفة، وإسهام الجامعة في الأنشطة الرياضية بالتعاون مع الأندية المحلية. كما أظهرت النتائج أن المحاور المهمة للمجتمع مثل التواصل مع الخريجين، وتقديم دورات في محو الأمية وتعليم الكبار، ومساعدة الخريجين للالتحاق بسوق العمل من خلال برنامج تأهيل مهني، وبتقديم خدمات استشارية للأسر التي يعاني أبناؤها من مشكلات تربوية، وتوفير برامج التعليم المستمر كالانتساب أو الدراسة عن بعد، قد حصلت على ادنى تقييم رغم أهميتها للمجتمع. كما أظهرت نتائج الدارسة أن هناك صعوبات تحد من قدرة الجامعة على القيام بدورها في خدمة المجتمع المحلي مثل، انشغال عضو هيئة التدريس بالأعباء التدريسية المختلفة، وعدم وجود عائد مادي لعضو هيئة التدريس نتيجة مشاركة في الأنشطة الاجتماعية، وانخفاض نقاط خدمة المجتمع المحلي في التقييم السنوي ونماذج الترقية. وعليه فقد أوصت الدراسة بضرورة اهتمام الجامعة بالجوانب المؤثرة على المجتمع المحلي في محاور المسؤولية الاجتماعية والتركيز عليها كونها تخدم المجتمع المحلي وتساهم في تطوره، بالإضافة لمعالجة الصعوبات التي تحد من قدرة أعضاء هيئة التدريس في خدمة المجتمع المحلي. كصرف بدل نقدي لأعضاء هيئة التدريس المشاركين في خدمة المجتمع أو تكريمهم وإدخال تعديلات على النقاط المحتسبة لخدمة المجتمع المحلي في أسس الترقية والتقييم. الكلمات المفتاحية: المسؤولية الاجتماعية، المجتمع المحلي، الجامعات، جامعة شقراء RESEARCH ARTICLE The Social Responsibility of Shaqra University from the Point of View of the Academic Staff Members Muhanna Mohammed Al-Osaimi Saad Musaeid Al-Shibani Researchers - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abstract The study was designed to demonstrate the role of Shaqra University in the community service or social responsibility, and to explain the difficulties that face the University in this regard. The researchers used the analytical descriptive method to reach the results of this study by designing a questionnaire distributed to the sample members of the study. The results of the study showed that the University plays a role in the community service in different aspects, such as the University’s contribution to the rehabilitation of employees in the community through various course, and the university’s contribution to support activities in cooperation with local clubs. The study showed that important services for the community like communicating with graduates, offering course in literacy and adult education, helping graduates to join the labor market, providing advice to families whose children suffer from educational problems, and proving continuous educational programs such as enrolment or distance learning have got the lowest ranks according to the sample members. The study results also showed that there are difficulties that limit the University’s ability to play its role in the community service, such as the occupation of the faculty members with the various teaching burdens, the absence of a financial return for the faculty members for participation in social activities, and the low points allocated to community service in the annual evaluation and promotion models. The study recommended that the University should focus on and pay attention to the aspects affecting the community in the areas of social responsibility, as they serve the community and contribute to its development. The University should address the difficulties that limit the ability of faculty members to serve the community: disburse a cash allowance to faculty members participating in serving the community, honor them, and make adjustments to the points allocated to the community service in the faculty members’ promotion and evaluation. The purpose of this study was to investigate effectiveness of female administration in the Administrative Empowerment at Hail University branches and its impediments, from the point of view of the faculty members. The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach. The questionnaire was the tool of study and the study sample consisted of (53) of female faculty members at Hail University branches during the first semester 2018- 2019. The results of this study found that the overall degree of administrative empowerment was obtained at a general average (3.93) i.e. high degree and at the dimensional level. Indeed, the work team term was in the first rank with an average of 4.09, and then it comes the delegation of authority with an average of (3.89). The communication term comes at the third level with an average of (3.88) and in the last rank, it comes the motivation of the staff with an average of (3.86) and all of them with a rating of (high). As regard the obstacles in the women administration, the administrative impediments obtained the first rank with an average of (3.87) followed by the personal constraints with an average of (3.76), and then the political impediments with an average of (3.47), and finally the social obstacles with an average of (2.61). For instance, the study showed that there were no significant differences due to the impact of experience years and the impact of scientific qualification. There were some recommendations according to the study results, which were to increase the effectiveness of faculty members and remove obstacles facing them.

This study aimed to examine the reality of social responsibility practice among the academic leaders at the Hashemite University in light of some demographic variables (academic major, academic rank, post).To achieve the objective of the study, the researcher used a scale that was verified for its validity and reliability. The scale of social responsibility consisted of (23) items, divided into three dimensions: social responsibility towards the students, social responsibility towards the university, and social responsibility towards the community. The sample of the study consisted of (150) academic leaders at the Hashemite University in Jordan in the first semester of the academic year 2019/2020. The problem of the Study concern in several problems encountered by the faculty members at the Jordanian universities in terms of the practices of social responsibility. Also, this study was conducted in order to explore the level of social responsibility practiced through the academicians and faculty members at the Hashemite University. Methodology: This study is quantitative, in which data were collected through a questionnaire, which was designed and developed for the purposes of the present study. The results of the study showed that academic leaders at the Hashemite University exercise social responsibility of the three dimensions to a moderate degree from their perspective. In light of the study results, the researcher recommends a number of recommendations: conducting additional studies to explore the factors affecting the level of social responsibility, providing legislations and laws which may contribute to the development of the academic environment of the university that enhances the practices of social responsibility, provision of support for the faculty members at the Jordanian universities and solving the relevant problems they encounter.

This study aims to search the students’ attitudes in The University of Jordan towards the “Social Media Networks” subject, and in order to reach the study’s goals, a descriptive surveyor methodology was adopted, the study sample consisted of (198) students of bachelor degree who enrolled the subject for the second semester; academic year 2014/2015 from both genders in a random cluster way. A tool was designed to measure the students’ attitude towards “Social Media Networks” subject; the tool paragraphs targeted five dimensions: course content, faculty members, school applications, evaluation methods and laboratories offered by the university. The study results showed that the students’ attitude towards “Social Media Networks” subject, were positive in general levels and in medium degree. The course content and the school applications obtained the highest average respectively, followed by laboratories offered by the university and evaluation methods, faculty members took the last position. The results also show that there are no differences of statistical indications regarding the gender, educational level or experience options in the use of networks while a difference occurred regarding faculty’s type in favor of scientific faculties.

The aim of this study was to identify the role of the message and the heroic and the strategic objectives of the university on the social responsibility of faculty members in Saudi universities. The view of faculty members at Taif University "                 The social responsibility of faculty members stems from the mission of the university and its vision and objectives. The more the mission, vision and strategic goals of the university are clear to the faculty members, the more the community responsibility is clear to them and thus can be achieved. The researcher relied on the analytical descriptive approach. The questionnaire was then designed and distributed to (70) faculty members at Taif University. The questionnaire was answered. The study was based on the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) in the analysis The study found that the university has a message, vision and strategic objectives written and clear to all faculty members. However, the university has a weak role in formulating them. There is also a lack of community responsibility in building partnerships with local community institutions and providing scientific advice to them. Institutions., And there are obstacles to their community responsibilities

Abstract Research purpose. The paper follows a definition of University Social Responsibility (USR) recently formulated by Kouatli in 2019. In accordance with the definition, the main objective of this study is to identify and establish the importance of individual stakeholders to the university. The article also includes several case studies demonstrating the possibilities of cooperation between university management and other stakeholders to address the social aspects of sustainable development primarily. Design / Methodology / Approach. The focus group method was used to identify all stakeholders. For individual focus groups, respondents rated their importance for universities on a scale from 1 to 7. Subsequently, different stakeholders were divided into relevant groups by factor analysis. The obtained outputs were used for the identification of important university stakeholders in the field of education and science. Findings. The university’s most important stakeholders in education were found to include applicants for study and their parents, student, and academic staff, and last but not least, foreign students. In the field of science and research, the university’s main stakeholders are academics, enterprises, and the professional public. Emphasis is placed on how the university can cooperate with its stakeholders in CSR activities. Originality / Value / Practical implications. The value of the proposed stakeholder framework can be seen in the identification of important stakeholders for universities. The paper also includes case studies related to the cooperation with the Czech university to fulfil its USR objectives.

Quality of life and satisfaction with life as tightly interconnected concepts have become of much importance in the urbanism era. No doubt, it is one of the most important goals of every human society to enhance a citizen’s quality of life and to increase their satisfaction with life. However, there are many signs which demonstrate the low level of life satisfaction of Iranian citizens especially among the youth. Thus, considering the temporal concept of life satisfaction, this research aims to make a futures study in this field. Therefore, using a mixed model and employing research methods from futures studies, life satisfaction among the students of the University of Tehran were measured and their views on this subject investigated. Both quantitative and qualitative data were analysed together in order to test the hypotheses and to address the research questions on the youth discontentment with quality of life. Findings showed that the level of life satisfaction among students is relatively low and their image of the future is not positive and not optimistic. These views were elicited and discussed in the social, economic, political, environmental and technological perspectives. Keywords:  futures studies, quality of life, satisfaction with life, youth

Social Responsibility is a concept that has been approached from different perspectives by theoreticians and institutions. Initially, this was limited exclusively to companies, however, the creation of the Social Capital, Ethics and Development Initiative by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) sought to make educational institutions aware that, like any other organization, they are responsible for the externalities they generate in their environment and their stakeholders. This research approaches the concept of University Social Responsibility (USR) from the scheme proposed by the IDB, which proposes four axes of action for Universities’ CR: Responsible Campus, Professional and Citizen Training, Social Management of Knowledge and Social Participation. The Universidad del Valle has a strategic plan entitled “Universidad del Valle’s Strategic Development Plan” and Regionalization attached thereto. It has also developed its action plan and in the five strategic issues raised herein, its socially responsible approach is clearly identifiable. The North Cauca Facility wherein this study is being developed, even though it does not have a University Social Responsibility Management Model, has attempted to align its practices with its strategic affairs that broadly conform to the four axes proposed by the IDB. This research addresses a relevant and current issue inasmuch as it proposes to develop a diagnosis on the relationship between the four axes of Social Responsibility proposed by the IDB and the practice of Social Responsibility applied at the Universidad del Valle, North Cauca Facility, for the period 2014-2015. In order to answer the research problem, a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive type of study is used, given that the work was based on the documentary information available at the University, while the interviews with the directors of the Institution are used as a tool for oral history. The research method used is the case study, which allows to address a unit of analysis in depth, in this case the USR within the Universidad del Valle, North Cauca Facility.

This study aims to show the importance of evaluating the teaching performance level of the University teaching members. It also aims to provide the suggested mechanisms for evaluating the teaching performance of the teaching staff members of Sebha University. This study was based mainly on documents and analytic description to collect information about the importance and ways of evaluating teachers with reference to some of the international experiences on teaching performance development. This study concluded that the absence of an experienced entity that would develop the teaching performance of faculty members is one of the main reasons for the weak teaching performance at Sebha University. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended that there should be a planned system based on measured standards and criteria for evaluating staff members to improve the quality of teaching in the higher education domain.

The study aimed to identify the necessary requirements needed for employing e. learning in the (teaching staff) in the faculty memberof education, from the point of view of the teaching staff. In this study the researcher employed the analytical descriptive method and the size of the sample in which the study was applied was (127) individualsof the teaching staff with a degree of Assistant Professorand above The researcher has employed questionnaire technique as a study tool. The most important findings of the study are: The study has come to the fact that the majority of the researchers managed to answer the study areas which are summarized in (the requirements needed for employing e. learning by the teaching staff، which was specified by this study، these requirements are vitally important from the point of view of the teaching staff. The most important requirements for the use of e-learning in the university faculty member. It consists in possessing the competencies of preparing courses electronically, which means designing the content or electronic curriculum in accordance with the principles of educational design. The most important recommendations of the study are: Providing all the requirements needed to put e. learning into practice (for the teaching staff members) which was determine by the study to employ e. learning in the institutions of the higher education in Sudan.

  The study aimed to know the reasons for the brain drain from the viewpoint of the faculty members at the University of Jordan and to achieve the goals of the study the researcher used the descriptive analytical approach, and the tool was represented in a questionnaire distributed to a random sample of faculty members at the University of Jordan, the number of (100) faculty members , And the SPSS program was used in statistical processing. The results of the study revealed that the overall tool obtained; the causes of brain drain on average (3.82 out of 5) with a verbal (large) estimate and at the level of fields; the field of economic reasons obtained the highest average (4.14) followed by the field of social causes with an average (3.69) and both with a verbal (large) And, thirdly, the field of political causes, with an average of (3.64), with a verbal estimate (average), There were statistically significant differences at the level of (α≤0.05) between the averages of the sample responses attributable to the variable of the college specialization, and for the benefit of the scientific colleges. Aim which enables rare minds to find their specialties within the Arab world.
