The results of the level of satisfaction with the quality of educational activities are analyzed, in particular: the content of educational programs, the implementation of educational programs, the conditions for ensuring the educational process, the quality of teaching, knowledge control and training. Positive assessment (satisfaction is more than 50%) deserve: the organization and conditions of the educational process, the content of academic disciplines in all cycles, the quality of teaching, the volume and quality of the library fund. However, some comments revealed dissatisfaction with the technical means, the quality of the content audiences, the organization of pedagogic assistance and students’ self-directed learning, schedule of classes, quality of teaching materials, organization of traineeships, quality control test, availability of laboratories and computer classes outside the classroom. The assessment of the socio-cultural environment considered aspects of the organization of students’ extracurricular work, the socio-psychological climate; the conditions of life support of the educational process (sanitary and social); socio-cultural activities related to the satisfaction of spiritual and physical needs of an individual; socio-cultural fostering. The article deals with Gran software and the access to it through the remote desktop. The peculiarities of web-based remote desktop access and Gran software system for teaching mathematics at school are revealed. The paper also describes the application of open source software (Ulteo OVD) that allows users to remotely access their desktops and applications using one of the Desktop as a Service cloud components through a client device browser. The modes of using Ulteo OVD client software are described. Two servers (Application Server and Session Manager Server) have been organized to use Ulteo OVD by means of PROXMOX web-based virtual environment. The authors propose the way to use Ulteo OVD to access software installed on a remote server, in particular Gran software. The article also describes some examples of graphical problem solving using Gran1 that can be used in maths at school. The considered issues are quite complex and rather time-consuming without Gran1 software for graphical analysis of various tasks and approximate calculation of numerical measures of different objects (lengths of surfaces, areas of surfaces, volumes of bodies, probabilities of occurrence of different events, statistical analysis of observational data) of their solving. The range of tasks that can be solved with the use of the Gran software package, in particular Gran1 programme, is quite broad. By applying a creative approach, their analysis and solution can have a positive effect on the learners’ mental and cultural development. It is emphasized that the use of various technologies in educational process, as well as the selection of tasks and the content of training in general, should be pedagogically weighted, based on the harmonious combination of pedagogical heritage of the past and modern achievements of scientific and technological progress.

In 1880, when the British moved their Federated Malay States administrative centre to Kuala Lumpur, the Padang quickly became a symbol of British economic and administrative colonisation, and a nucleus of the socio-cultural development of Kuala Lumpur. This paper discusses the layers of history, symbolism and cultural values that the Padang contributes to the socio-cultural tapestry of both Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia, and the lack of relevant planning and heritage measures to conserve these attributes and characteristics. The conclusions offer avenues to engage with pre- and post-colonisation that enable re-making and the conservation of the iconic space of Kuala Lumpur. Keywords: Urban open space; Merdeka Square; Kuala Lumpur City Hall; National Heritage Act 2005eISSN: 2398-4287 © 2019. Experiences of absence are often laden with values and expectations. For example, one might notice that a job candidate is not wearing a tie, or see the absence of a wedding band on a person's ring finger. These experiences embody cultural knowledge and expectations, and therefore seem like good candidates for being a form of evaluative perception. This chapter argues that experiences of absence are evaluative apart from the social or cultural values they take on. They are evaluative in their core, solely by virtue of being experiences of absence. The chapter begins by explaining why certain experiences of absence should be treated as a case of genuine perception. It then clarifies the role of the evaluative states in experiences of absence. The chapter concludes by arguing that experiences of absence constitute a new form of evaluative perception, and presents the subjective–objective dichotomy in a new light.

Global processes in the musical culture of Kazakhstan are the result of the numerous events that have taken place in the country over the past 20 years. The independence of the state has become a key factor that has had a decisive impact on the economic, socio-political and cultural development of the country. We have entered a new life, which has a rich cultural heritage and was carefully preserved by our ancestors. One of the proofs is the history of Kazakh kobyz art from ancient times to the present day. Modern kobyz art is closely connected with ancient history and has a rich natural tendency for new development, based on centuries of experience. Therefore, kobyz music of the XXth–XXIst centuries absorbed the traditions of European genres and styles, and is widely used in mass music, in various directions of ethnorock, art-rock, folk and others. Two lines of development of music for kobyz and music on kobyz existed in ancient times and nowadays. From here comes the divergence of creative direction among modern composers and in ensemble performance.
