AbstractThis article discusses the relationship between capitalism and environmental destruction, a critical perspective. The objective was to demonstrate the specific relationship between human beings and nature established in capitalist society and its destructive effects, compared with other contradictions of capitalism and the future possibilities. The capitalist mode of production is the key element to understand the process of environmental destruction in modern society, especially in its dynamic marked by the reproduction of capital. Ideologies aimed at solving the environmental problem within capitalism are discarded because of this specific characteristic of capitalism. Environmental destruction is one of the contradictions of capitalism and can become the most important, promoting the end of capitalism or of humanity. However, the end of capitalism is not without human action and it is this that determines what will replace it. This highlights our responsibility in shaping the future of humanity. Keywords: capitalist mode of production, environment, environmental destruction, trends. ResumenEn este artículo se analiza la relación entre el capitalismo y la destrucción ambiental, una perspectiva crítica. In this text we explore the relationship between vitiviniculture and environment, observing the current conjuncture in which environmental problems are worsening. Taking as a baseline a survey of the literature and as a time frame the 1970s to the present, we begin by examining the development of vitiviniculture from the wider perspective of the contemporary global agrifood system, highlighting in particular the environmental impacts generated by this system. Next, taking into account the panorama of vitiviniculture in Brazil, we turn our focus to notions of sustainability with the aim of outlining possibilities for a reconfiguring of this issue and, at the same time, contextualizing the extent to which the country has been pursuing this direction. We conclude that the future of winemaking depends especially on a more harmonious intervention of human beings in the environment.

Abstract: This article is the result of a doctoral thesis which aims to identify innovations in the field of labour organization produced by the experiences of companies recovered by workers in Brazil and Argentina. The central thesis defended is that the limitations imposed by the hegemony of the capitalist mode of production do not dismiss the possibility of building new social relations of production. The five case studies and the experience with surveys of all experiences recuperated enterprises in the two countries provided information that allowed questioning in several respects the capitalist organization of work and, through a critical practice, as suggested Rebón (2007), propitiated reflection on the possibility of overcoming the hegemonic model, it is not only about innovation within organizations, but also the relationship of these companies with their territories. Keywords: companies recovered by workers; work organization; workers self-management; critical management studies.

In the late 1950s, the National Archives of Ghana (NAG) began a decentralizaton programme which has progressed to the point where there is now a NAG regional depository in eight of the country's nine regions, the only exception so far being the Upper Region. Furthermore, unlike many of the efforts at bureaucratic decentralization in Ghana, which have been more de jure than de facto -- archival decentralization in Ghana is a reality. As a result, the historical researcher who limits his efforts to the Accra branch of the NAG is risking the loss of considerable richness of detail, as a recent trip to Sekondi made abundantly clear to me.Sekondi houses the Western Regional Branch of the NAG. The Western Region is, in many respects, one of Ghana's most interesting areas. Until relatively recently it was, at one and the same time, the major center of foreign business activity in the country, and one of the country's most backward and underdeveloped areas. While ironic, this juxtaposition is certainly not surprising. But more importantly, from the point of view of the researcher into Ghana's history, it affords the opportunity for a more detailed micro-level historical examination of, for instance, the relationship between “modernity” and “tradition,” or between the “capitalist mode of production” and the “pre-capitalist mode of production.” The Western Region has been almost an ideal type in this respect, and as a consequence is virtually a laboratory, not only for the historian, but also for the historically-minded sociologist, economist, and political scientist.

Utopian perspectives on law are rare – both within legal theory, which generally eschews utopianism as frivolous and unrealistic, and within utopian studies, which have argely neglected to analyse the role that law plays in utopia or on the path towards it. Philip Allott’s work, and his latest monograph ‘Eutopia’ in particular, constitutes a notable exception which is positioned at the intersection between law and utopianism, and this paper aims to explore that intersection with a view to identifying the conceptualisation of law that it implies. To tease out the utopian elements in Allott, I suggest reading ‘Eutopia’ in light of Ernst Bloch’s ‘The Principle of Hope’. Three related utopian themes can thus be identified: the orientation towards the future based on dreams, imagination, and educated hope; the defamiliarisation from the present to open up possibilities of change; and the situation of utopian thought in relation to present reality, dynamically construed, with an emphasis on the need for action by human beings to propel society towards a utopian future. I argue that this framework leads to a utopian account of law which is critical of the law as it stands, dynamically oriented towards an open future, and in the hands of human beings who have the power to shape and transform its content. The conclusion considers the implications of this analysis for the genre of text to which ‘Eutopia’ belongs: If the point is to transform law and society by way of human action, then it constitutes a utopian manifesto that aims to instigate a sense of responsibility among its readers, and thus achieve the world as it could be.

The study of Marx and Engels' educational thought has experienced different stages in China, different stages show different characteristics, and has made some progress in the aspects of “human nature”, “all-round development of human beings”, “the combination of education and productive labor”, “the relationship between education and various social phenomena”, and “the thought of moral education”. Looking forward to the future, the study of Marx and Engels' educational thought in China should be further carried out: the depth of text research, the strengthening of academic research, the emphasis of method research and the deepening of cross-research.

Lipids are essential components of cell structure and play important roles in signal transduction between cells and body metabolism. With the continuous development and innovation of lipidomics technology, many studies have shown that the relationship between lipids and cancer is steadily increasing, involving cancer occurrence, proliferation, migration, and apoptosis. Breast cancer has seriously affected the safety and quality of life of human beings worldwide and has become a significant public health problem in modern society, with an especially high incidence among women. Therefore, the issue has inspired scientific researchers to study the link between lipids and breast cancer. This article reviews the research progress of lipidomics, the biological characteristics of lipid molecules, and the relationship between some lipids and cancer drug resistance. Furthermore, this work summarizes the lipid molecules related to breast cancer diagnosis and prognosis, and then it clarifies their impact on the occurrence and development of breast cancer The discussion revolves around the current research hotspot long-chain non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), summarizes and explains their impact on tumor lipid metabolism, and provides more scientific basis for future cancer research studies.

The human experience in times of crisis is a determinative indicator for the future wellbeing of generations. The lack of empathy and inactive emotional intelligence through all forms of linguistic conduct cause miscommunication and misconduct, which severely underestimates the intellectual potential of human beings. In a world of diversity, emotional intelligence and empathic linguistic power are crucial indicators of civilization and enlightenment. Given a richer understanding of the relationship between empathy and emotional intelligence from a sociolinguistic perspective, this study discusses the significance of including emotional intelligence and empathy in educational and intellectual programs. This study is the framework through which the empathic linguistic power within a society could be a determining power for crisis management and wellbeing at times of turmoil.
