The aim of the work is a comparative study of the effect of vegetable nutrients - wheat germ oil (WGO), flour from wheat germ cake (WGC), and animal - concentrated tissue fish oil, origin on lipid metabolism indicators of students and university teachers, as well as an assessment of the probiotic factor in increasing the effectiveness of the target biologically active substances. The data obtained confirm the relation between the nutritional sufficiency of the body and the increase in lipid metabolism effectiveness and atherosclerosis risk reduction in students and teachers of an engineering university with the daily use of bioactive nutrients: WGO, WGCF, CTFO and their combinations with the biomass of lactobacilli and bifidobacteria consortium. The lipid metabolism was evaluated based on the analysis of indicators of the total cholesterol (TC) concentrations, high-density lipoproteins (HDL), low-density lipoproteins (LDL), triglycerides (TG), atherogenic index (AI). The values of these indicators were recorded before and after daily consuming the study foods for 30 days. The data obtained were analyzed for 3 age groups: 16 – 24, 25 – 44, and 45 – 65. It was found that WGO has the most effective antiatherosclerotic effect; the decrease in the TC level was 6.4%, the increase in the HDL concentration was 13.7%, the decrease in the LDL concentration was 11.3%, the decrease in the TG concentration was 17.1%, and the AI decreased by 22.6%, respectively. With WGCF, the changes in the studied parameters were 6.0, 12.3, 13.1, 13.1, and 22.1%, respectively. Together with probiotics WGO effectiveness increased in terms of the reduced TC level (1.9%), increased HDL concentration (8.2%), decreased LDL concentration (2.5%), reduced TG concentration (5.7%), and decreased AI (6.3%) for CTFO by 9.1, 26.1, 14.7, 24.1 and 31.2%, respectively. Thus, the dynamics of lipid metabolism indices objectively testifies to the positive effect of bioactive nutrients on human health indicators.

The effective functioning of all body systems is mostly determined by many essential substances that act as activators of metabolic reactions. Their diet deficiency leads to violations of alimentary nature homeostasis, exacerbated by environmental, social, and economic factors. This study aimed to compare antihypoxant properties nutrients of the vegetable and animal origin, their impact on respiratory and transport parameters of gas exchange, as criteria for the energy balance of the body, and the assessment of probiotic factor in improving the antihypoxant properties of targeted biologically active substances. The increase in the efficiency of gas exchange was evaluated on the example of students and teachers of an engineering university at ages from 16 to 65 in daily consumption of food products with known biocorrective properties: wheat germ oil (WGO), wheat germ oil meal (WGOM), concentrated tissue fish oil (CTFO) and their combinations with the biomass of the lacto- and Bifidus bacteria consortium. The change of energy efficiency of the nutritional status was assessed based on the analysis of the carbon dioxide (CO2) and oxygen (O2) concentration in the exhaled gas-air mixture and the level of hemoglobin (SpO2). Their values were recorded before and after the daily consumption of the tested products for 30 days. The average values of parameters in all age groups have demonstrated that the most effective antihypoxant is the wheat germ oil meal. A combination of biocorrectors under investigation with active forms of probiotic microorganisms provides a more active antihypoxant effect for all products under investigation in all age groups. The obtained data make it possible to state the possibility of an operational alimentary impact on gas exchange efficiency and prove the antihypoxant properties of WGO, WGOM, CTFO, and the synergetic effect of their combination with probiotic microorganisms in the active form.

The results of studies of the alimentary correction of the efficiency of gas exchange processes in the lungs are presented on the example of students and teachers of an engineering university with the daily use of food products with known bio-corrective properties: 3.5 g of wheat germ oil (MZP), 50 g of flour from wheat germ meal (MZHP), 6.5 g of concentrated tissue fish oil (CTR) and their combinations with the biomass of the consortium of lacto - and bifidobacteria (10 g). The efficiency of gas exchange processes was assessed based on the analysis of the respiratory coefficient, the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) and oxygen (O2) in the exhaled gas mixture was determined using a TESTO-310 gas analyzer, an MDG-1201 capnograph, the values of which were recorded before and after daily consumption of the studied products during 30 days. The experimental group consisted of volunteers - teachers and university students aged 16 to 65 years, divided into 3 age groups: 16-24, 25-44 and 45-65 years old. It was found that the most effective antihypoxant is MZHP, in all age groups the increase in the mean values ??of DC was 0.041 units, and relative to the initial values - 4.8%. With the use of MW, the change in DC was 0.032, an increase relative to the initial indicators - 3.7%. For the 1st, 2nd and 3rd age groups, the average change in DC was: 0.031, 0.036 and 0.043 units, relative to the initial indicators, the growth was 3.5, 4.2 and 5.0%, respectively. It has been proven that the combination of the investigated biocorrectors with active forms of probiotic microorganisms provides a more active antihypoxant effect for all investigated products, in all age groups. The efficiency of the minimum wage has increased, the increase in DC was 0.049 units, for CTR - 0.024 units. The growth of DC relative to the initial values was 5.7 and 2.9%, respectively. The synergism of the action of biocorrectors in combination with probiotics, by age groups, was 0.035, 0.033 and 0.038 units, which relative to the initial indicators was 4.1, 3.8 and 4.5%. The data obtained make it possible to state the possibility of a significant alimentary effect on the efficiency of gas exchange in the lungs, prove the antihypoxant properties of MZP, MZHP, CTR, as well as an increase in the effectiveness of combinations of these biocorrectors with active forms of probiotic microorganisms.

Introduction. An osteopathic examination determines the rate, the amplitude and the strength of the main rhythms (cardiac, respiratory and cranial). However, there are relatively few studies in the available literature dedicated to the influence of osteopathic correction (OC) on the characteristics of these rhythms.Goal of research — to study the influence of OC on the rate characteristics of various rhythms of the human body.Materials and methods. 88 adult osteopathic patients aged from 18 to 81 years were examined, among them 30 men and 58 women. All patients received general osteopathic examination. The rate of the cranial rhythm (RCR), respiratory rate (RR) heart rate (HR), the mobility of the nervous processes (MNP) and the connective tissue mobility (CTM) were assessed before and after the OC session.Results. Since age varied greatly in the examined group, a correlation analysis of age-related changes of the assessed rhythms was carried out. Only the CTM correlated with age (r=–0,28; p<0,05) in a statistically significant way. The rank dispersion analysis of Kruskal–Wallis also showed statistically significant difference in this indicator in different age groups (p=0,043). With the increase of years, the CTM decreases gradually. After the OC, the CTM, increased in a statistically significant way (p<0,0001). The RCR varied from 5 to 12 cycles/min in the examined group, which corresponded to the norm. After the OC, the RCR has increased in a statistically significant way (p<0,0001), the MNP has also increased (p<0,0001). The initial heart rate in the subjects varied from 56 to 94 beats/min, and in 15 % it exceeded the norm. After the OC the heart rate corresponded to the norm in all patients. The heart rate and the respiratory rate significantly decreased after the OC (р<0,0001).Conclusion. The described biorhythm changes after the OC session may be indicative of the improvement of the nervous regulation, of the normalization of the autonomic balance, of the improvement of the biomechanical properties of body tissues and of the increase of their mobility. The assessed parameters can be measured quickly without any additional equipment and can be used in order to study the results of the OC.

Humans has long been interested in the question of how mental activity affects the body It is known that with prolonged mental work, the strength of the processes of excitation and inhibition is transformed, the ratio between them changes. With the onset of fatigue in the brain, the relationship between the cerebral cortex and subcortical formations is disrupted. At the same time, there is a decrease in the regulatory influence of the large hemispheres on all body functions and a decrease in the activating effects of the subcortical parts of the brain. In addition, prolonged sitting, a state of low motor activity leads to a significant decrease in centripetal impulses from the receptors of muscles, tendons, and joints. The study involved 17 relatively healthy, stable physiological condition of female students aged 21 to 25 years. For the study, 16 biologically active points were taken from standard meridians associated with a specific organ. To assess the physiological state of the organs before and after the load of mental labor, the indicators of EC BAP on the skin. A decrease in the indicators of each organ after mental labor was revealed in comparison with the indicators before mental labor with statistical reliability in all the studied organs (p˂0.05). Especially low values of the EC BAP values after a load of mental labor were found in the bioactive points of the liver meridian F. 3 Tai-Chun, the colon meridian GI.5 Yang-Si and GI. 4 He-Gu, the heart meridian C. 7 Shen-Men, the small intestine meridian IG.1 Shao-tse and IG.2 Qian-Gu, the meridian of the kidneys R. 1 Yun-Chuan and R. 2 Zhan-Gu.

Aim. To find out the relationship of particular blood cells (BC) and their ratios with lipid metabolism in patients with essential hypertension (EH), with (EH-1) and without kinesiotherapy (EH-2).Material and methods. The study included 30 healthy women (control group) and 72 women with EH, which were divided into 2 groups: group 1 (EH-1) — 37 women with stage II (target organ damage classification) hypertension who receive antihypertensive therapy; group 2 (EH-2) — 35 women who underwent antihypertensive therapy and kinesiotherapy (3-4 courses for 2-3 years).Results. Correlation analysis revealed that the studied relationships in healthy women, EH-1 and EH-2 women can be either direct or inverse. In healthy women, we observed negative association of monocytes (MON) with atherogenic index (AI), a positive association of basophils (BAS) with high density lipoproteins (HDL) and its negative association with low density lipoproteins (LDL), very low density lipoproteins (VLDL) and AI and red blood cells/platelets (RBC/PLT ratio) with HDL. Negative associations of lymphocytes (LYM)/BAS ratio with triglyceride (TG) and eosinophils (EOS)/BAS ratio with LDL were also detected. Patients with EH-1 had a direct relationship between LYM/EOS ratio and TG. In patients with EH-2, a negative relationship was found between PLT and HDL, MON and HDL, neutrophils (NEU)/MON ratio and TAG, and a positive — between white blood cells (WBC), NEU, MON and AI, LYM and TAG, MON and TAG, as well as AI.Conclusion. The obtained data indicate that all BC and their ratios in women with/without EH and with/without kinesiotherapy affect the lipid metabolism.

Objective: This study was designed to evaluate the effect of the methanol extract of M. foetida (MEMf) on high fat diet-induced obese male rats. Results: HFD induced an increase (P<0.05) in the body and liver weights and the relative abdominal fat pad of the animals in the experimental groups as compared to those in the normal diet group. Also, HFD in the experimental groups reduced (P<0.05) superoxide dismutase and catalase activities, glutathione levels and increased lipid peroxidation in the liver, heart and kidney as well as altered lipid profile (increased serum triglycerides, total cholesterol, low-density lipoproteins (LDL-C), very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL-C), decreased high-density lipoproteins (HDL-C), increased atherogenic index and coronary risk index), when compared to the normal diet animals. All altered parameters were subsequently normalized when obese rats received either MEMf (50 or100 mg/kg) or the reference drug Atorvastatin. Conclusion: This study demonstrates the potential of MEMf to normalize hyperlipidemia, oxidative stress and animal visceral organ weights increased by HFD in rats. Thus, M. foetida is an interesting medicinal plant that could be exploited as sources of anti-obesity agents.

Aluminum production can be referred to the category of industries of the increased health hazard for the workers. During technological process of receiving aluminum the air of a working zone is polluted by a large number of harmful substances. Workers are exposed to the complex of toxicants possessing a polytropic impact on the body. The most significant consequences are violations of different types of metabolism in the organism, including lipid metabolism. The purpose of the study is the investigation of the state of lipid metabolism in persons working in the production of aluminum. The object of research was 108 male workers of aluminum production suffering from occupational pathology of airways. The group of comparison was consisted of 103 men, apparently healthy, not exposed to toxicants. There was determined the content of the total cholesterol (TC), high and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDLC and LDLC), triglycerides (TG), phospholipids (PL), atherogenic index (AI). Statistical processing was performed with the use of software «Statistica 6.0». There were established statistically significant differences of indices of lipid exchange in the persons occupied in aluminum production when related to the group of comparison. IA values in persons from the study group proved to be higher than in the comparison group, due to elevated levels of TC and LDLC. The TG and PL level was also higher. The values of IA, TC and TG in workers of aluminum production in more than 50% cases exceeded the reference values. The average concentration of HDL cholesterol in both groups did not differ, and was above the lower reference boundary. Established features of lipid metabolism in workers of aluminum allow us to suggest the distinction in mechanisms of developing proatherogenic disorders from previously established ones for workers exposed to other chemicals. One of the causes of the shaping of these disorders can be oxidative stress, which in turn serves as a response to the exposure of complex of toxic substances to workers.

Background. Changes in lipid metabolism indicators in the pre- and postoperative periods are due to frequent metabolic disorders in obese people and particular difficulties with the selection of appropriate therapy. In turn, the cause for metabolic changes in the body is the influence of a certain extreme situation — surgical intervention. Objective: to study the changes in lipid metabolism in the pre- and postoperative periods in obese patients with laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Materials and methods. The study involved 50 individuals (mean age — 47.0 ± 1.5 years), who underwent surgery for acute cholecystitis by laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The patients were divided into 2 groups: 1 — obese, 2 — non-obese. The level of triglycerides, total cholesterol, high-density lipoproteins (HDL), low-density lipoproteins (LDL), very-low-density lipoproteins (VLDL) was assessed in all patients and compared in the preoperative period and on days 1 and 5 after surgery. Results. The parameters of lipid metabolism in the pre- and postoperative periods in all groups had permissible fluctuations, given the fact that in obese patients lipids were initially increased compared to patients without obesity. In the postoperative period in group 1 on the first day, there was a decrease in triglycerides (1.1 ± 0.6 mmol/L) from the baseline, in total cholesterol (4.5 ± 0.3 mmol/L), an increase in HDL cholesterol (1.5 ± 0.2 mmol/L), a decrease in LDL (2.9 ± 0.2 mmol/L) and VLDL (1.0 ± 0.2 mmol/L). In group 2, indicators of triglycerides (0.6 ± 0.2 mmol/L), total cholesterol (3.4 ± 0.1 mmol/L), LDL (1.9 ± 0.3 mmol/L) and VLDL (0.8 ± 0.2 mmol/L) also tended to decrease and there was an increase in HDL (1.6 ± 0.1 mmol/L), but these values, regardless of their variation, were within the normal range. In group 1, three patients showed cognitive impairment, which was due to a significant increase in LDL over HDL and the possible development of atherosclerosis, which could lead to cerebrovascular accident. Conclusions. After conducting a study between two groups in which the lipids were studied, a variation in parameters was revealed in both groups, which is due to the characteristics of metabolism in such patients and the influence of surgical stress. Based on this, control and regulation of lipid values should be carried out in all patients with dyslipidemia, and in obese patients, additional consideration should be given to risk factors, concomitant diseases and possible complications.

The article considers the problem of the relationship between the attitude to the own body and self-attitude of different aged women. Self-attitude is a phenomenon that reflects a general positive or negative attitude to own personality. Many scientists such as Z. Freud, A. Adler, O.O. Skugarevsky, S.V. Sivukha emphasized the importance of the body in forming a person's mental characteristics. Attitude to the own body is formed in the process of socialization through social institutions, art, science, everyday experience. In this research there was studied the relationship between the attitude to the own body and self-attitude of different aged women. Sample included women of two age groups: 20-40, 41-60. It was found out that dissatisfaction with own body in both groups was not expressed. We revealed that self-esteem of functional (endurance, strength, flexibility, speed, agility), anatomical (face, figure, legs, hands) and social (clothing, accessories, and cosmetics) characteristics of their bodies are on the high levels in both groups. Women between 41 and 60 have more interconnections between attitude to their bodies and different aspects of self-attitude (self-esteem, self-accusation, self-sympathy, etc.) in comparison with women of 20-40 ages. Middle-aged women tend to have higher self-acceptance and self-esteem than the younger group. From an evolutionary perspective, women are interested in being attractive to men. It increases their chances of getting a healthy partner who will provide them with the resources they need to raise their children. Studies show that men unconsciously pay attention to body proportions, skin quality and other health indicators. In our opinion, social characteristics have evolutionary importance. Social characteristics correlate with the expected attitudes of others in group of middle-aged women. Artificial appearance enhancement is aimed at attracting men and scaring away potential rivals. Perhaps women initially attract the opposite sex due to anatomical features, and when their body starts to change, they pay more attention to social ones.
