PT. X is a company engaged in shipping services. This company has a spare part storage warehouse that is not yet effective and efficient. This can be seen from the placement of items that are not suitable and require a long time in the process of picking up goods. This study aims to redesign the layout of the storage warehouse using the shared storage method. Shared storage is a method of arranging a storage area based on the warehouse floor area by placing the items that are sent immediately closest to the door, and so on. This method uses the FIFO (first in first out) principle so that the outbound process is easier and takes less time to search for goods. Based on the processing using the shared storage method, a proposal is made to improve the layout by adding 2 storage racks arranged by product type. The previous pallet 1210 became 3234. Forging of storage racks takes into account the size of the demand, so that products with more demand are placed in the area close to the door. With this, there are no more products stored in any area, and product collection will be easier and faster

Abstract--- Perum Bulog is a general company of state-owned enterprises in the field of logistics which has a role in maintaining national food availability and security such as prices for government purchases, distribution of rice and management of state-owned rice reserves. To maintain availability, products are stored and placed in a warehouse according to their needs and capacities by calculating how long it takes to store and deliver products to be marketed according to consumer demand. In the Bulog Karawang warehouse activity, there are still problems with poor product placement because irregular distances between the placement and shipping areas are caused by inappropriate product storage flow patterns so that loading and unloading activities become ineffective. Based on the existing problems, layout improvement design is carried out using shared storage methods in order to increase the effectiveness of the distance between the doors to the storage area. The steps to redesign using shared storage begin with knowing the warehouse area, warehouse capacity and other warehouse data, as well as collecting data by determining space requirements, determining space allowances, and distance from the entrance to the storage area by using Euclidean Distance. From the results of distance data processing becomes regular and can be known every distance. Based on the comparison of the initial layout and the proposal it is known that by implementing shared storage loading and unloading activities become better and more effective.                                                                             Keywords ; Allowance, Euclidean Distance, First In First Out (FIFO), Shared StorageAbstrak--- Perum Bulog adalah perusahaan umum badan usaha milik negara di bidang logistik yang memiliki peran dalam menjaga ketersediaan dan ketahanan pangan nasional seperti harga pembelian pemerintah, penyaluran beras dan pengelolaan cadangan beras milik negara. Kata kunci ; Allowance, Euclidean Distance, First In First Out (FIFO), Shared Storage.

The warehouse process, as one of many logistics processes, currently holds an irreplaceable position in logistics systems in companies and in the supply chain. The proper function of warehouse operations depends on, among other things, the type of the used technology and their utilization. The research in this article is focused on the design of a warehouse system. The selection of a suitable warehouse system is a current research topic as the warehouse system has an impact on warehouse capacity and utilization and on the speed of storage activities. The paper presents warehouse system design methodology that was designed applying the logistics principle-systematic (system) approach. The starting point for designing a warehouse system represents of the process of design logistics systems. The design process consists of several phases: project identification, design process paradigm selection, system analysis, synthesis, and project evaluation. This article’s contribution is the proposed methodology and design of the warehouse system for the specified conditions. The methodology was implemented for the design of a warehouse system in a cold box, which is a part of a distribution warehouse. The technology of pallet racking was chosen in the warehouse to store pallets. Pallets will be stored and removed by forklifts. For the specified conditions, the warehouse system was designed for two alternatives of racking assemblies, which are served by forklifts. Alternative 1—Standard pallet rack with wide aisles and Alternative 2—Pallet dynamic flow rack. The proposed systems were compared on the basis of selected indicators: Capacity—the number of pallet places in the system, Percentage ratio of storage area from the box area, Percentage ratio of handling aisles from the box area, Access to individual pallets by forklift, Investment costs for 1 pallet space in EUR. Based on the multicriteria evaluation, the Alternative 2 was chosen as the acceptable design of the warehouse system with storage capacity 720 pallet units. The system needs only two handling aisles. Loading and unloading processes are separate from each other, which means that there are no collisions with forklifts. The pallets with the goods are operated on the principle of FIFO (first in, first out), which will facilitate the control of the shelf life of batches or series of products. The methodology is a suitable tool for decision-making in selecting and designing a warehouse system.

Cluster computing is becoming increasingly practical for high performance computing research and development. A computer cluster is a set of connected computers that work together so that, they can be viewed as a single system. Clusters offer a scalable means of linking computers together to provide an expansive environment for hosting enterprise applications. As the number of nodes in cluster configurations grows, the cluster administration becomes more challenging. We need to study the challenges of cluster management and to provide a solution. To have an effective cluster management we need to have an effective task scheduling algorithm. With the explosive growth of information, the demand on computing is sharply increasing. Due to a large number of computing tasks, the scheduling algorithm is an important part of cluster computing and has a great influence on the quality of claster service. In cluster computing, some large tasks may occupy too many resources and some small tasks may wait for a long time based on First-In-First-Out (FIFO) scheduling algorithm. This paper provides an overview of an improved scheduling algorithm that shortens the execution time of tasks and increases the resource utilization.

Production scheduling is the most important part in carrying out the production process that will be carried out on a production floor. Scheduling activities are carried out before the production process begins to ensure the smooth running of the production process. If the production scheduling is not done properly, there will be obstacles in the production process and will cause losses to the company. This study aims to determine the production machine scheduling in a company engaged in the manufacture of spare parts for automotive products. This company implements a job shop production process and uses the First In First Out method in completing its work. Due to the large number of products that have to be produced, there are often two or more products that must be worked on at the same time and machine. This condition causes some products to have to wait for the associated machine to finish operating and causes long product turnaround times. This problem is solved by making a production machine scheduling using the Non-Delay method. By applying this method, the makespan of completion time can be minimized.

Rapid technological development changes the form of competition between profit-oriented companies. The presence of new methods of company management is getting more intense due to the demands of a competitive advantage with other companies. One of the areas that can create competitive advantage is the operational sector. Furthermore, Supply Chain Management has become one of the main components as a competitive strategy to develop the productivity and profitability capabilities of a company. Meanwhile, crossdocking systems have been found for a long time, but the application is often not too significant for companies and there is still room for optimization. Therefore, the researcher was interested in carrying out research related to crossdocking. In this study, the target company is PT. XYZ as a distribution center company that has problems in managing distribution costs and supplies to its partners. By implementing crossdocking, it can help companies in minimizing distribution and inventory costs. The steps in this study are determining vehicle distribution routes, calculating the number of distribution fleets, scheduling distribution fleets, calculating the total safety stock and calculating the ratio of the total cost of supplies in the current condition to the proposed conditions. The research results obtained 2 optimal distribution routes with a total distribution fleet of 2 units, divided into fleet 1 with a capacity of 800 units and fleet 2 with a capacity of 767 units. As for the scheduling results, the makespan value of each fleet is obtained, namely 240 minutes for fleet 1 and 248 minutes for fleet 2.
