At the current stage of global confrontations between the great powers, the issue of ensuring national economic security has become pressing and absolutely necessary. Starting from strategic interests and the balance of powers at global and regional level, we will try to assess the main economic trends, which will define in perspective the configuration of the external environment, in which the Republic of Moldova will struggle to increase the welfare of its citizens in the coming years. This paper offers a new approach to ensuring the external economic security of a small state, the area of priority economic interests, emphasizing that even at the regional level, there is a reconfiguration of power, which cannot be ignored while examining the ways of economic growth of the Republic of Moldova over a long period of time.

In modern conditions of unpredictability, issues of ensuring the economic security of enterprise become particularly important and innovations are a significant component. The article aims to advance the knowledge of economic security and to develop the methodology of ensuring the economic security of enterprise and its innovative component. To achieve this goal, the following methods were used: systematization, data collection, analysis, comparison and the inductive method. The system of ensuring economic security was developed and the mechanism of increasing the innovative activity of enterprises in developing countries was determined, on example of the Republic of Moldova. The presented research results are important for the development of economic science as they represent a systematization of different approaches to economic security with the focus on its innovative component. The developed system, with its main phases and proposed measures, may be implemented by the management in order to strengthen the innovative activity and the economic security of enterprises, taking into account the features of a specific industry and the environment of a specific country.

The article discusses aspects that determine the economic interests of the Arctic countries and affect the provision of economic growth and economic security of the Russian Federation. The author examines the current trends of economic activity in the Arctic, analyzes state strategies and other documents that determine the policy of states in the Arctic region. The purpose of this work was to study international economic aspects affecting the economic security of the Arctic territories of the Russian Federation. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were formulated: to study the Arctic strategies of the Arctic states; to structure the most important economic aspects affecting the economic security of the Russian Federation; to determine the basis for the development of cooperation and interaction between the Arctic states. The article concludes that despite the emerging problems and distrust between the Arctic states, there is an interest in building relationships based on respect for mutual interests and equal dialogue.

Abstract The viticulture, a traditional branch of the national economy, is closely related to climatic conditions because the Republic of Moldova territory represents the northern border of its territorial location. Therefore the knowledge of regional particularities of grapevine productivity formation in dependence of current agro-climatic conditions is of particular interest. Along with accelerated climate change in last decades over the Republic of Moldova territory, we find that are essential changes concerning agro-meteorological conditions, at the same time comprehensive researches that would reflect the actual impact of climate change on grapevine are limited. There are known researches, but in the context of changes that occur at regional level it is necessary to supplement permanently the database in order to elaborate an appropriate estimation of current climate conditions. The above reported facts show the importance of parameters influencing the grapevine productivity time and space study in Republic of Moldova.

In view of the controversial nature of the transnational enterprise activity, it becomes relevant the development of monitoring mechanisms, system analysis, the control of processes of the production transnationalization from an economic security position. In the given article it is described the features of state influence on transnational business for national economic interests. Abstract The accelerating pace of climate change is associated to weather-climate related risks manifestations, which in recent years are becoming more intensive and more frequent. Unfortunately, we find that far at regional level there are no a basic scientific information which could highlight their specific spatio-temporal manifestation. In this context, criteria for several weather-related risks identification were quantified, the main ones being material damages, the number of casualties and victims and not the least - and the period they occur. The identified weather and climate related risks may be subject to a complex spatiotemporal analysis, having as a research tool - Geographic Information Systems.

Conceptual documents, conditions and factors for protecting national interests in the economy from internal and external threats are considered in the article. New approaches to a comparative assessment of the national economic security of Russia and the Republic of Uzbekistan are justified. Membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO) and participation in free trade agreements (FTAs) are important instruments for governments to realize national economic interests. The Republic of Korea has been particularly successful in doing so. As the experience of Korea shows, a trade policy mix between multilateral liberalization under the WTO and preferential liberalization through FTAs allows the government to optimally balance national interests and strive for higher levels of social welfare and economic effectiveness, while simultaneously protecting national industries. However, such results seem to be possible only if national economic interests are clearly defined and are synchronized with a country’s goals regarding WTO membership and its strategy for FTAs. During recent decades, Korea has practiced an active long-term planning of trade policy so that trade benefits are not excessively concentrated in a narrow range of trade actors and are distributed more evenly in society. This meant appropriate balancing of liberalization and protection measures, reinforced by special support programmes that neutralized the negative impact of higher market openness. In this article, Korea’s strategy regarding trade policy is analyzed, including the reasons Korea pursued an FTA-centric policy and the benefits it obtained in addition to those it obtained from WTO membership.

The article substantiates the objective necessity for introducing strategizing to ensure the effectiveness of structural reform of the national economy. The main characteristics of strategizing, which are hypothetically capable of providing the prerequisites for effective structural changes in the national economy, are identified A list of basic tasks has been given, the solution of these tasks should provide the mechanism for strategizing the structural reform of the national economy. The approaches to improving the use of strategizing in achieving structural policy goals are suggested. It has been found that when new directions of development emerge and form, globalization creates unfavorable conditions for the economic security of the state. The current state of economic development makes it necessary to take into account these challenges in order to ensure stable development and competitiveness of the national economy of Ukraine. The internal and external threats that cause insufficient stability of the economy and results in a decrease in the economic security of our state are characterized. The most important national economic interests are presented the realization of which may lead to well-being and prosperity of the nation.Some ways of improving the economic security policy have been proposed.

The problems of developing the export of Moldovan goods and services, as well as improving international competitiveness, are very relevant today. Strengthening the position of the Republic of Moldova in the world economy is a necessary and inevitable task. However, foreign policy and foreign economic factors, such as pressure from multinational corporations, create difficulties for Moldovan companies to defend and promote their interests in foreign markets. The underdevelopment of the domestic export promotion system, the complexity of the international political and economic environment, numerous risks actualize the need to analyze and consider the concept of business diplomacy within the framework of economic diplomacy as a promising mechanism for ensuring the interests of industry and individual companies in foreign countries. Being a subspecies of economic diplomacy, business diplomacy is characterized as a more applied form of realization of economic interests, including methods of lobbying and communication with the state. Such a form of promotion of economic interests at the international level, based on diplomatic structures and trade missions, can promote closer cooperation of domestic companies, both with foreign state bodies and with Moldovan departments in order to realize commercial interests abroad. The article shows the real situation in the field of economic diplomacy in the Republic of Moldova and gives some recommendations for its improvement.
