Kulkul is one of Bali's cultural heritage. Kulkul is used in Balinese society for communication when there is a danger, death, a ritual, and so on. The current phenomenon is that many Balinese people are only able to know and without knowing much knowledge about kulkul. It is because this knowledge is the only word of mouth, making it difficult for it to be collected, stored, retrieved, shared, and renewed. Current technological developments, especially mobile technology, allow the development of mobile applications on cultural knowledge with an ontology approach that will help provide an explicit explanation of this knowledge. In this study, the authors propose the application of a web service with a REST API architecture to help mobile applications integrate Balinese Kulkul Semantic Ontology. This study uses the prototyping method in developing the REST API. From the tests that have been done, it is found that the REST API has successfully received requests and responses which prove that the mobile application is well integrated.

Tourism is one of the largest growing industry worldwide. A tourist will naturally keep on travelling to different countries and sub-continents. Several researchers have addressed and proposed Mobile applications to facilitate Tourist and Tourismin different areas. A Mobile application to assist nightblind tourist is still one of the unaddressed issues by the researchers. This paper proposes a Mobile application model for the Tourist who facesdifficulty in vision during dark times, referred to as night blindness. The proposed application model is based on the difference of current time with sunset time. The application module uses mobile technology and difference of time function to proactively alert the night blind tourist to reach its safe place or destination before sunset. This model also provides an alternate path and distance with respect to time and user location. This proposed mobile application is very useful for the apprehensive night blind tourist who feels fear in travelling during the close of day times.

Smartphones have changed consumer behavior by providing new mobile technology applications. In order to understand the intention to use mobile applications, this study highlights the factors of usability, loyalty, and trust based on technology acceptance models and relationship marketing by using mobile restaurant guides. This research fills a gap regarding the comparison of mobile application users' behavior in France and Russia. The authors tested the model by a total sample of 244 respondents (123 from Paris and 121 from Moscow) and analysed it with SmartPLS. The comparison of subgroups indicates that Russian users are sensitive toward the variable of trust, while French users are more impacted by mobile application usability. This study can be relevant for practitioners who work internationally, developers of mobile applications, and restaurant managers.

Gadgets have become indispensable attributes of our lives, but also applications. Using applications simplifies and speeds up users. It is the future computer science teachers who must be able to create their own applications for professional duties, because the possession of tools for creating software products is one of the software learning outcomes of future computer science teachers. The concept of "application" is analyzed in the article. An "application" is defined as a software product that can run on a PC and / or mobile device due to installation or opening by a browser without installation. Types of applications are presented: desktop applications, mobile, web applications. The existing classifications of applications are given, with their characteristics, namely: web application, rich Internet application, Internet application, mobile application, hybrid mobile application, composite web application (mashup). Describes the classification of Internet applications and composite web applications. Examples of web applications are given. Statistics on the use of mobile applications of social networks and messengers, according to which the most popular application is the YouTube application. The author's classification of applications is offered: desktop applications (applications that are installed on a PC), mobile applications (applications that are installed on mobile devices), Internet applications (web applications, applications that do not require installation, but are opened by a browser and a certain mostly use the Internet). The platforms for creating applications are given. The stages of application creation are characterized: selection of the target audience, definition of purpose and functionality, type of application interface, selection of tools for application creation, application creation, application testing, improvement of the developed application. Examples of applications that can be created by future computer science teachers for further use in professional activities are offered: own website, testing system, reference book, application with presentations to educational material and tasks, guest book, forum, etc. The creation and use of applications by future computer science teachers ensures the formation of pupils' interest in computer science lessons, because pupils often use applications for personal needs, rather than educational.

Purpose – The purpose of this study is to examine consumer perceptions toward the adoption of mobile technology within the vacation ownership/timeshare segment of the hospitality industry. Despite the proliferation of mobile applications in the greater hospitality and tourism industry, few timeshare companies use this technology. However, customers have expressed strong intentions to use technology. Therefore, this study examines consumers’ attitudes toward and experiences with mobile applications and then through the use of a prototype, examines consumers’ intentions to use a mobile application. The relationships between attitude, experience and usefulness are explored in relation to intention to use. Design/methodology/approach – Consumers that owned timeshares in the Orlando area responded to an online survey invitation from their resort management company. The survey instrument gathered data related to consumers’ attitudes toward and experiences with technology using established measures. A total of 914 surveys were collected and the proposed model was analyzed using path analysis. Findings – Findings indicate that traditional technology adoption antecedents (experience, usefulness and attitude) explain timeshare owners’ intentions to use a mobile application. This is consistent with prior research. However, using established measures, the model explained consumers’ intentions to use the technology with greater certainty than what previous research has reported. Research limitations/implications – The most encouraging and noteworthy implications from the findings are threefold. First, timeshare owners are using mobile technology while traveling (mobile phones, tablets and laptops). The owners’ experiences with mobile devices exert a positive influence that moderates intention to use. In addition, the impact of technology experience on intent to use is mediated by perceived usefulness and attitudes toward the application. Though the sample size was large, limitations do exist, as those surveyed were all owners of a single timeshare resort based in Orlando, Florida. Originality/value – In studies reported to date, there is scarce empirical research regarding mobile application adoption for timeshare owners or information about the factors that drive usage, attitude and adoption. This study discusses important insights about mobile services for an industry that lacks research in information technology.

Even the groundswell of interest in mobile applications has not so far contributed to their integration into educational programs as an EFL learning tool. The purpose of the present review is to identify the current state and prospects for the use of mobile technologies in EFL teaching. The methodological basis of this research is a theoretical analysis of the literature data on the research topic. The evaluation of contemporary empirical studies conducted in Australia, China, Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, Japan, Malaysia, Spain, Taiwan and other countries, has led to a conclusion that the implementation of mobile technology in EFL teaching gives predominantly positive results due to several merits of mobile devices relative to standard pedagogical tools. It was however underlined that researchers have yet to learn how to conduct methodologically sound, statistically relevant studies that would cover aspects of learning activities beyond the use of mobile technology. The authors conclude that when studying applications, researchers should not try to find a mobile application that can teach students everything they need, but should study the ways in which individual applications help to master a foreign language.

Due to the proliferation of mobile applications, mobile traffic identification plays a crucial role in understanding the network traffic. However, the pervasive unconcerned apps and the emerging apps pose great challenges to the mobile traffic identification method based on supervised machine learning, since such method merely identifies and discriminates several apps of interest. In this paper we propose a three-layer classifier using machine learning to identify mobile traffic in open-world settings. The proposed method has the capability of identifying traffic generated by unconcerned apps and zero-day apps; thus it can be applied in the real world. A self-collected dataset that contains 160 apps is used to validate the proposed method. The experimental results show that our classifier achieves over 98% precision and produces a much smaller number of false positives than that of the state of the art.

The article analyzes the possibilities of introduction of mobile technology of education in school practice as a means of forming information and digital competency of students. Based on the analysis of literary sources and educational practice, the methodical features of the application of mobile technology in the educational process, in particular during the frontal questioning of students using the mobile application Plickers, are outlined. According to the results of questionnaire survey of students and teachers revealed the main shortcomings of the introduction of mobile technology in the educational process. In particular, the inadequate preparation of students for the use of mobile technology in self-study, the low readiness of students and teachers to use mobile applications and services in the learning process has been confirmed. It is argued that the low level of introduction of mobile education in school practice is due to insufficient methodological support and improper description of ways of using mobile applications in specific didactic situations. The example of the Plickers mobile application demonstrates the possibilities of using it in the process of teaching physics. The article gives methodical recommendations on the application of Plickers during the frontal questioning of students in the process of studying quantum physics. Five options for the use of Plickers in physics classes are proposed, in particular: a frontal survey to diagnose student achievements or check the formation of certain concepts; double testing at the beginning and at the end of the lesson to determine the degree to which the purpose of the lesson is achieved; local or modular survey on specific pieces of educational material to identify its level; interviewing students in order to find out the success of tasks or solving problems; the use of a mobile tool for grouping students into groups in order to correct typical errors. It is emphasized that the rapid development of information and communication technologies and their widespread use in recent years in educational activities provide grounds for optimistic forecasts for the earliest possible introduction of mobile school education.
