Nutrition of intensive sheep farming in Greece is based mainly on feeding forages and concentrates in the stable, while grazing is provided in a low extend. Feeding cost is the major cost factor and from the protein supplementation side is based on alfalfa hay and soybean meal. The aim of the study was to investigate the substitution of soybean meal with local produced legumes forages. Thirty ewes of the “Karagouniko” breed were split in three groups of ten animals each. In the first group (control group), nutrition was based on alfalfa hay and soybean meal. In the second group, alfalfa hay and soybean meal were entirely substituted with vetch hay. In the third group, alfalfa hay was completely substituted with peas hay and the soybean meal inclusion was increased. Body weight was measured in the beginning and at the end of the trial period. Feed consumption and milk production were recorded daily and milk quality was analyzed weekly. No significant differences were found for all the parameters mentioned. Substitution of imported soybean meal with locally produced legumes is possible and will be an advantage in the differentiation of Greek sheep milk. The economic analysis showed that in farm, the cultivation of vetch and pea hay is more preferable than alfalfa.

Abstract More alternative donor stem cell transplantation (SCT) has been performed in recent years in China due to lack of HLA identical siblings. Higher risk for developing acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) has been seen in patients who receive haploidentical stem cell transplantation (haplo-SCT) compared with identical sibling SCT patients (Lu DP et al, Blood2006; 107: 3065). In a murine model, we have first demonstrated that the animals transplanted with three mixed bone marrow (A+B+C to A) were survived longer due to milder aGVHD compared with the mice transplanted with single allogeneic bone marrow (B to A). In current clinical trial, we examine whether cord blood (CB) as the third party cells could reduce aGVHD in haplo-SCT setting under the same principle investigator in two hospitals. Between January 2006 and April 2008, total 133 haplo-SCT patients with hematological malignancies were enrolled. The patients with advanced diseases were excluded. All patients received unmanipulated blood and marrow transplant after BUCy2 or CyTBI plus antithymocyte globulin (ATG, Genzyme 10mg/kg) as preconditioning. Cyclosporine, short-term Methotrexate, and Mycophenolate mofetil were employed for GVHD prophylaxis. Fifty-six patients received one unit of HLA 3–6/6 matched CB one day before SCT as CB group, and 77 cases did not receive CB as control group. The main clinical characteristics in both groups are comparable. All patients in both groups achieved full donor chimerism. Low levels of CB chimerism were detected in a few patients at early stage after SCT. No long-term CB engraftment was found. The cumulative incidences of grade II to IV aGVHD were 16.4% versus 38.4% (p=0.008) in CB group, control group respectively. The cumulative incidences of grades III to IV aGVHD for CB group versus control group were 9.2% versus 22.4% with p=0.043. The incidences of 100-day treatment-related mortality were 1.8% versus 10.4% (p=0.053) for CB group, control group respectively. Our preliminary clinical study has shown that CB as the third party cells could significantly reduce the incidences of aGVHD, especially for severe aGVHD, and also treatment-related mortality in haplo-SCT. The mechanism of this strategy need to be further investigated.

Women were placed in one of four groups according to their vaginal pathological state. 77 patients with classical bacterial vaginosis (BV) were included in the first group. The second group included 63 women with BV and leukocytes in the vaginal smear. The third group consisted of 157 patients without clinical and laboratory criteria of BV, but with bacterial vaginitis. The fourth group (control group) totalized 193 people without any of the above pathological processes in the vagina or other diseases of the pelvis. Chlamydia, Mycoplasma, Ureaplasma and Trichomonas were found significantly more often in women with BV that in those without (4,3; 15,2; 2,6; 5,9 times accordingly). Chlamydia and Ureaplasma in diagnostic levels were identified more often in the patients with BV and leukocytes than in those with the classical variant (1,8 and 1,4 times accordingly). Trichomonas was found only in the patients with BV and leukocytes; and M.himinis in diagnostic levels was identified in both variants equally.

The aim of the study was to estimate the basic production parameters and economic efficiency of fattening pigs when GM soybean meal is replaced with increasing proportions of blue lupine, as a native Polish plant source of protein. The experimental material comprised 50 fatteners divided into a control group (C) and four experimental groups (E1, E2, E3 and E4), with 10 pigs per group. Basic fattening parameters, i.e. daily weight gain and feed consumption per kg of body weight gain, were very good: 1201–1272 g and 2.35–2.59 kg/kg, respectively. These parameters were slightly better in group C than in the experimental groups. Comparison of the costs incurred and revenue obtained showed that the production of fatteners was found to be unprofitable, assuming market prices for the feed materials used, including lupine seeds. The financial result was a consequence of market determinants independent of the producer. The use of unprocessed lupine seeds as a replacement for GM soybean meal in fattening pigs proved to be clearly unprofitable.

Objectives - to improve the treatment results in patients with generalized peritonitis complicated by the enteral insufficiency syndrome. Material and methods. In the period of 2016 -2018 there were 45 patients with a widespread peritonitis admitted to Samara regional clinical hospital named after V.D. Seredavin for treatment. The patients were divided into a control and a main group. The patients of the main group received the intestinal intubation with a specially designed catheter, the intestinal lavage during surgery and in the early postoperative period, the enterosorption, enteral nutrition and bowel decontamination; and in the absence of contraindications - the enteral oxygen therapy. Dynamics of the enteral insufficiency syndrome (EIS) development in both groups were evaluated according to the defined criteria, including laboratory and clinical indicators. Each criterion could weight from 1 to 3 points, their amount reflected the degree of enteral insufficiency. Results. In the main group of patients the small intestinal function was notably restored till the beginning of the third day, what coincided with the transition of the third degree of enteral insufficiency in the second. In patients of the control group the restoration of intestinal function was starting in period of fifth and sixth day after the operation, but the 3d degree of enteral insufficiency remained for 12 hours. Conclusion. The intestinal treatment in combination with the standard therapy allowed to reduce the degree of EIS in the beginning of treatment. This helped to improve the treatment results in general.

The research was conducted in 2019. Nutritional value of each component of forage mixtures was evaluated to increase calf body weight gain significantly. Optimization software EkoKorm developed calf starters having high essential amino acid index (EAA index) that indicated protein quality. The experiment tested the effect of extruded grain-legume mass in starters on 1075-days-old calves. The control starters contained huskless ground barley and oats as well as pea. Grain fraction of the second, third and fourth test starters included flakes of hulled oats, barley and pea. Control, first and second groups consumed 18,0 of milk powder and 4,0 of sugar in their diet. Feed for the third group had no sugar and low content of milk powder while fourth group diet included no sugar and dry milk but high content of extruded pea and altered amount of other grain components and soybean meal. Both partial and complete substitutions of sugar and dry milk by extruded pea, barley and soybean meal affected positively calf growth. Daily weight gain of the third and fourth group amounted to 814.5 and 859.7 g, exceeding the control group by 9.315.4.

This article presents the results of the effective use of biologically active substance that belongs to hydrolyse class “Lysozyme G3” in the composition of pigs premix. New premix that can balance the main grains in pigs feeding has been developed. The main grains are wheat, corn, barley. These compounds are included into pigs feeding ration and they are the main crops in the South of Ukraine. The effect of using this new premix that contains the enzyme preparation “Lysozyme G3” for fattening pigs was also investigated. The productive effect of enzyme preparation in the rations with the same nutritional value for fattening pigs and its effect on the nutrients digestibility were studied. Experimental research activities were conducted at the agricultural enterprise “Avangard-D” LLC, Ovidiopol District, Odessa Oblast. The changes in live weight, as well as gains of fattening pigs at the age of 4, 5, 6 and 7 months were studied in the scientific and economical experience. During the main period (120 days), the increase in pigs live weight was observed in all groups. Thus, in the control group, this indicator changed from 27.8 to 107 kg; in II experimental group – from 28.1 to 109.2; in III experimental group – from 28.0 to 111.7 kg. When removing animals from fattening, the difference in live weight between the III experimental and control groups was 4.4% and it was statistically significant (P > 0.95). The average daily gains in piglets of II and III experimental groups significantly exceeded the indices of control one by 2.4% and 5.7%, respectively. The nutrients digestibility in animals of all experimental groups was studied to analyze more carefully. The analysis of digestibility indices in pigs rations during experiment (when pigs are fed with premix that contains biologically active substance Lysozyme G3), and its content in the ration indicated that nutrient digestibility indices had changed into the direction of increase. Feed consumption was calculated after analyzing these indices. Thus, the smallest feed consumption per unit of live weight gain was established in the third experimental group, where it was 3.2 feed units and was less in comparison with animals of the control group by 3.4%. During scientific and economical researches, blood samples were taken from animals of the first control group and the third experimental one for morphological and biochemical studies. It was found that the blood parameters of experimental animals during the entire period of fattening were within the physiological norm. The amount of protein in the blood indicates that animals of experimental group have higher growth rate by 10.9%. The economic indicators directly reflected above mentioned facts when the calculation of the economic part of the research were carried out. Thus, we got 1870.5 UAH from the first group, 1934.3 UAH from the second group, 1989.4 UAH from the third group, selling products from one head. Accordingly, the level of profitability of pork production was: in the first group (control) – 13.5; in the second (1 kg/ton of premix) – 16.5%; in the third (2 kg/ton of premix) – 19.8%.

The aim of study was to estimate the processing technology of soybeans produced in Latvia and to compare the possibilities of using the obtained soybean cake with imported soybean meal in the feeding of lactating sows and their offspring. From soybeans, which were processed into animal feed, we obtained a product with a high content of protein. The control group of sows and fattening pigs received the imported soybean meal mixed into the compound feed, but the trial groups compound feed was mixed with soybean cake grown and processed in Latvia. Fattening pigs were weighed regularly. Feed consumption was counted and feed conversion was calculated. Was determined meat quality, carcases weight, carcases length. The chemical composition of the manure was analysed. Statistical analysis of data was performed with SAS / STAT 9.22 software package. The inclusion of soy cakes grown and processed in Latvia in lactating sow feed increased sow milk yields traits by 3.9% at 21 day of piglet age. At the end of experiment higher live weight by 3.42% were found in the trial group. Carcass quality indicators and chemical composition of meat did not show significant differences. Was observed a tendency to decrease in manure the content of organic matter in the trial group by 3.25%, decrease levels of total phosphorus and ammonium nitrogen compared to the control group. Using soybean cakes grown and processed in Latvia is possible to develop feed rations that showed similar pig growth results to imported soybean meal.

Turkish dermatologist, H. Beheet described the disease as recurrent triad of iritis, oral aphthous lesions and genital ulceration. Auto immune disease is the recent focus on the unknown etiology which is still being discussed. Among the other immunosupressive drugs, CyA included in it's treatment newly. One of the important side effects of this drug is gingival hyperplasia which has a direct relation with the presence of teeth and periodontal tissue. We are interested in the ultrastructure of immunocompetent target cells that were affected by CyA in BD.Three groups arranged in each having 5 patients with BD. Control group was the first and didn’t have CyA treatment. Patients who had CyA, but didn’t show gingival hyperplasia assembled the second group. The ones displaying gingival hyperplasia following CyA therapy formed the third group. GMC of control group and their granules are shown in FIG. 1,2,3. GMC of the second group presented initiation of supplementary cellular activity and possible maturing functional changes with the signs of increased number of mitochondria and accumulation of numerous dense cored granules next to few normal ones, FIG. 4,5,6.

Background: Commercial broiler is a rapidly growing sector in Bangladesh. The broilers are supplied with the balanced ration prepared from a number of ingredients which are not available uniformly throughout the years. On the other hands, manufactured feeds are costly and inconvenient for the rural farmers. This study is undertaken to use unconventional feed ingredients aiming to decrease the broiler production cost. Method: A total of ninety-nine day- old broiler chicks (Hubbard) of either sex were used in this study in 3 treatment groups to assess processed unconventional feed item (shoti, blood meal, poultry dropping and molasses) on growth and profitability upon rearing for 60 days. Broilers were reared in dip litter system and were fed ad libitum on conventional and unconventional diet dividing into 3 treatment diets namely, treatment diet 1 (T1: Conventional as control), treatment diet 2 (T2: unconventional with blood meal and shoti), and treatment diet 3 (T3: unconventional with blood meal, shoti, poultry droppings and molasses) throughout the trial period. Treatment group 1 (T1) was used as control. Results: Broilers fed on control diet (conventional feed) achieved higher (P<0.01) body weight, while the broilers offered diets with the highest amount of unconventional feed had the lowest body weight. Increased (P<0.01) feed intake was observed during 21days and 49 days of age when broilers fed diets with the supplementation, but no significant differences were found among the groups in terms of feed consumption during 33 day of age. FCR differed significantly (P<.01) throughout the trial period with the broilers fed diets without supplementation of unconventional feed item had the superior FCR than the others. Mortality rate was 6.06%,9.09%, and 9.09% in treatment group I, treatment group II, and treatment group III respectively while live weights, feed conversion and feed consumption was unaffected by all the dietary groups with/without incorporation of unconventional feed item up to day 60 days of age. Statistically significant (P<0.01) decreased live weight was observed among the treatment groups in 60-day-old birds. Productivity and cost-benefit analysis were performed. Conclusion: Use of unconventional feed ingredients in broiler production greatly reduces the feed cost with little hampering the growth rate and hence, it is profitable for the farmers.
