A critical analysis is done on the variation of the rate of change of Total Column Ozone (TCO) over Dum Dum (22° 38 N, 88° 26 E) and Total Monsoon Rainfall over Gangetic West Bengal with the variable component of 10.7 cm solar flux during different seasons for the period 1997- 2005. An anti-correlation is observed between the variable component with the rate of change of TCO during the pre-monsoon and monsoon period and significant positive correlations during the post-monsoon and winter seasons. Quite insignificant positive correlations are observed between the variable component and Total Monsoon Rainfall during different seasons for this period. A co-variation is observed with the increase in the variable component of 10.7 cm solar flux throughout the period of study only during the pre-monsoon season. Possible explanations are also presented.

Abstract The current environmental scenario and increased average yield rate has marked boro rice cultivars as a potent rice cultivar during rabi season. It serves to be an alternative to traditional sali rice and an escape to flood problems. The selection and development of potent boro rice cultivar among its diverse types has been an issue. In this study, 117 traditionally grown boro rice cultivars in different low-lying areas and newly developed irrigated areas of Assam were analyzed. The cultivars were analyzed based on yield and related component traits as per the standard evaluation system for rice. Grain yield and its related component traits showed a significant relationship among the cultivars. All the traits analyzed showed positive relationship with grain yield and harvest index except to time taken for flowering and maturity. Based on total yield, principal component and cluster analysis, Bahurupi, PSB 68, Mandhya Vijaya, Bahunipi, Pathariya showed to be best performing cultivars, with high yield and higher component traits performance. This study marks the significant association of grain yield with its component traits and further provides an insight to the selection of rice cultivars for breeding programmes.

This paper discusses the problems of lexicographical representation of Modern Greek constructional phrasemes – productive phraseological patterns with one or more variable components (slots). The analysis of Modern Greek general and phraseological dictionaries has shown that, in Modern Greek lexicography, there is no unified approach towards the description of this type of phraseologisms. One of the significant problems associated with lexicographical treatment of Modern Greek constructional phrasemes is that some of them are registered in dictionaries as fully fixed expressions with their slot(s) filled with a specific lexeme or a specific proposition, without any indication that these expressions possess a variable component. Such lexicographical representation of productive phraseological patterns does not reflect the real linguistic usage and does not allow the reader of the dictionary to understand that the expressions described in the dictionary as fully fixed show considerable variation and possess one or two slots that can be filled with a wide range of words or word combinations. The corpus analysis of the constructional phraseme Ούτε να Ρ (literally, ‘neither if’), which is registered in Modern Greek dictionaries in five different, all fully lexically specified forms, has shown that the specific realizations of this productive phraseological pattern included in the dictionaries either have relatively low frequency of occurrence in the corpus, or are not encountered in the corpus at all. Other realizations of this phraseological pattern account for over 92 % of all the cases of its use in the corpus, but the common pattern behind them can hardly be identified with the help of the existing lexicographical descriptions, as it is registered in the dictionaries under the lemmas of five different lexemes that do not form part of its fixed component. Based on the findings of this study, the paper raises the issue of developing a new approach towards the description of productive phraseological patterns that currently pose a significant challenge for adequate lexicographical representation.

The article presents an approach applied in the online training of pre-service teachers to acquire digital competence. The content of the concept of ‘digital competence’ in its sustainable and variable component is clarified. The understanding of ‘augmented reality’ to e-learning objects is presented. Two forms of ‘augmented reality’ have been proposed to visualize video information to a clarified concept. The first one is presented via a QR code for quick access and applicable for mobile learning. The other is provided by icons and is applicable to e-learning with a computer. It is believed that ‘augmented reality’ can differentiate students’ online learning according to the field-dependent and field-independent cognitive style and their preferences on the use of different digital learning devices.

It is accepted in the present cosmology model that the scalar field, which is responsible for the inflation stage in the early universe, transforms completely into matter, and the accelerated universe expansion is presently governed by dark energy (DE), whose origin is not connected with the inflationary scalar field. We suppose here that dark matter (DM) has a common origin with a small variable component of dark energy (DEV). We suggest that DE may presently have two components, one of which is the Einstein constant Λ, and another, smaller component DEV (ΛV) comes from the remnants of the scalar field responsible for inflation, which gave birth to the origin of presently existing matter. In this note we consider only the stages of the universe expansion after recombination, z≃1100, when DM was the most abundant component of the matter, therefore we suggest for simplicity that a connection exists between DM and DEV so that the ratio of their densities remains constant over all the stages after recombination, ρDM=αρDEV, with a constant α. One of the problems revealed recently in cosmology is a so-called Hubble tension (HT), which is the difference between values of the present Hubble constant, measured by observation of the universe at redshift z≲1, and by observations of a distant universe with CMB fluctuations originated at z∼1100. In this paper we suggest that this discrepancy may be explained by deviation of the cosmological expansion from a standard Lambda-CDM model of a flat universe, due to the action of an additional variable component DEV. Taking into account the influence of DEV on the universe’s expansion, we find the value of α that could remove the HT problem. In order to maintain the almost constant DEV/DM energy density ratio during the time interval at z<1100, we suggest the existence of a wide mass DM particle distribution.

The article presents the results of theoretical and experimental studies of coalescence, disruption, and fragmentation of liquid droplets in multiphase and multicomponent gas-vapor-droplet media. Highly promising approaches are considered to studying the interaction of liquid droplets in gaseous media with different compositions and parameters. A comparative analysis of promising technologies is carried out for the primary and secondary atomization of liquid droplets using schemes of their collision with each other. The influence of a range of factors and parameters on the collision processes of drops is analyzed, in particular, viscosity, density, surface, and interfacial tension of a liquid, trajectories of droplets in a gaseous medium, droplet velocities and sizes. The processes involved in the interaction of dissimilar droplets with a variable component composition and temperature are described. Fundamental differences are shown in the number and size of droplets formed due to binary collisions and collisions between droplets and particles at different Weber numbers. The conditions are analyzed for the several-fold increase in the number of droplets in the air flow due to their collisions in the disruption mode. A technique is described for generalizing and presenting the research findings on the interaction of drops in the form of theoretical collision regime maps using various approaches.

This article examines the communicative competence, its essence and component composition, which includes a number of competencies such as linguistic, strategic, discursive, sociocultural, linguistic, as well as distinguishing between the concepts of “competence” and “competence”. there is a goal in teaching a foreign language, namely to teach reading literature in a foreign language, and the most important aspects of learning a foreign language were learning grammar rules and the ability to analyze the text. Despite the significant shortcomings, this method has long dominated the domestic language didactics, partially remaining in the education system until the late 90’s of XX century. The basic definitions of terms by domestic and foreign authors, such as M. Vyatyutnev, N. Gez, N. Mykytenko, L. Bachman, and others, were determined. The model of S. Savignon and the components of the division of communicative competence of M. Kenal and M. Swain are considered, namely into grammatical, sociolinguistic, strategic. As well as three components of NI Gez and the division of communicative competence of VV Safonova. After analyzing domestic and foreign literature, we can conclude that communicative competence is a complex phenomenon in the methodology of teaching foreign languages and requires new approaches to solving the problem of its essence and variable component composition. Many scholars agree on the presence in the structure of foreign language communicative competence of such key components as language (linguistic), sociocultural, sociolinguistic, pragmatic, strategic, professional subcompetence.

Abstract The magnitude and functional patterns of intraspecific transcriptional variation in the anophelines, including those of sex-biased genes underlying sex-specific traits relevant for malaria transmission, remain understudied. As a result, how changes in expression levels drive adaptation in these species is poorly understood. We sequenced the female, male, and larval transcriptomes of three populations of Anopheles arabiensis from Burkina Faso. One-third of the genes were differentially expressed between populations, often involving insecticide resistance-related genes in a sample type-specific manner, and with the females showing the largest number of differentially expressed genes. At the genomic level, the X chromosome appears depleted of differentially expressed genes compared to the autosomes, chromosomes harbouring inversions do not exhibit evidence for enrichment of such genes, and genes that are top contributors to functional enrichment patterns of population differentiation tend to be clustered in the genome. Further, the magnitude of variation for the sex expression ratio across populations did not substantially differ between male- and female-biased genes, except for some populations in which male-limited expressed genes showed more variation than their female counterparts. In fact, female-biased genes exhibited a larger level of interpopulation variation than male-biased genes, both when assayed in males and females. Beyond uncovering extensive adaptive potential of transcriptional variation in An. arabiensis, our findings suggest that the evolutionary rate of changes in expression levels on the X chromosome exceeds that on the autosomes, while pointing to female-biased genes as the most variable component of the An. arabiensis transcriptome.

Plasma methods, where only electricity is required, are an alternative to the PUREX process used in industry for spent nuclear fuel reprocessing. It is considered the possibility of filtering out the target ions (М = 232…277) to the collector at the first turn of the ion trajectory in the plasma mass filter, which is currently being developed, that is achieved by specifying certain parameters (amplitude and frequency) for a variable component of a radial electric field. This approach significantly reduces the thermal load onto deposition surface of target ions.
