Researchers have long debated whether entrepreneurship policy should focus on place or people. In this paper, we extend the place-based versus people-based theories using contemporaneous and geographically granular web-user online activity data to predict a region’s proclivity for entrepreneurship. We compare two theoretical hypotheses: the urban third places—informal gathering locations—that facilitate social interaction and entrepreneurship, in contrast to the creative class which fosters entrepreneurial energy and opportunity in a region. Specifically, we assess whether business formation has a stronger statistical relationship with the browsing behavior of individuals visiting websites associated with third place locations—e.g., restaurants or bars—or the concentration of web browsing behavior associated with “the creative class”. Using U.S. county-level data, we find that both urban third places and the creative class can predict about 70% of the variations in regional business formation, with the creative class having a slight competitive edge.

The existing research advocating entrepreneurship as an important way to increase the uptake of electric vehicles (EVs) in developing countries and EV charging business is also playing a crucial role in increasing the adoption of EVs. EV charging is important for EV adoption, and entrepreneurship is also important for EV adoption; therefore, it is important that we must understand what mobilizes or prevents EV charging entrepreneurship. This chapter aimed at explaining drivers of EV charging entrepreneurship. A survey of 121 potential entrepreneurs shows that personal attitude, self-confidence, and opportunity perceptions shape the decision to engage in EV charging entrepreneurship. Policy measures to boost EV charging entrepreneurship have been suggested.

Under the background of mass entrepreneurship and innovation, innovative entrepreneurship research is urgently needed for entrepreneurs. The aim was to explore the innovative entrepreneurship consciousness of new entrepreneurs. First, the regional competitive advantage theory is discussed. The research method of questionnaire survey is combined with statistical analysis to obtain relevant research data. Quantitative standards are used to measure the impact of regional advantages and policy support on entrepreneurs’ innovation and entrepreneurship. The policy content analysis and questionnaire survey are applied to discuss the impact of regional competitive advantage, educational psychology, innovation and entrepreneurship policy, and entrepreneurs’ innovation consciousness. Meantime, the policies related to entrepreneurs’ innovation and entrepreneurship are further explored. The results show that the proportions of young entrepreneurs suffering anxiety and depression are 29.4 and 27.5%, respectively, which are significantly higher than the national average. Besides, in the test, F=23.11, p<0.005, which indicates that all proposed hypotheses are valid. The results suggest that the overall mental health level of young new entrepreneurs is not high, and their consciousness of innovation and entrepreneurship needs to be strengthened. Under the wave of mass innovation and entrepreneurship, the research results can strengthen entrepreneurs’ innovative entrepreneurship consciousness and may have great theoretical and practical significance for improving and optimizing government innovation and entrepreneurship policies.

Medicine development is inseparable from the spirit of innovation, focusing on cultivating medical students' innovative awareness and improving entrepreneurship education performance, which has an irreplaceable effect on both the students themselves and the society. With the transformation and development of the social economy of the country, innovation, and entrepreneurship have been a wide concern in all sectors of the society. In contrast, the entrepreneurial success rate of college students in China is low, and the willingness of students to start a business is generally not high. As a leading element, entrepreneurship policy plays an important role in creating an enabling social environment for entrepreneurship and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. The influence of entrepreneurship policy on the entrepreneurial will of college students is not only reflected in the improvement of entrepreneurship environment but also in the reform and development of innovation and entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities. This study conducted a survey of fresh graduates from 1,231 colleges and universities in 31 provinces across the country to examine the path and influence the mechanism of entrepreneurship policy on entrepreneurial willingness, and the subsequent regression analysis results show that the entrepreneurship policy and entrepreneurship willingness are positively related, and entrepreneurship education, as a “bridge,” presents a partial intermediary role in the relationship. In addition, the study also found that the entrepreneurship capital of college students has a moderating effect on the path of entrepreneurship education–entrepreneurship willingness, that is, the higher the entrepreneurship capital of students is, the higher the entrepreneurship willingness will be generated after they receive entrepreneurship education.

The skills development and entrepreneurship policy developed in 2015 tries to solve the challenges of skill development by inspiring early signs, development and variations. The present study is based on a primary survey conducted in four Districts of Sikkim involving 600 respondents from amongst the various stakeholders and examines whether there is any significant difference in the expressed belief held by stake-holders vis-à-vis the challenges identified in the skill eco space in Sikkim. These challenges are namely resistance to relocation by Sikkim’s youth for employment, stigma against labor oriented jobs, preference for Government jobs, belief that skilling is for low academic achievers and lack of industrial opportunities and development in the State of Sikkim. The findings can be utilized for suggesting recommendations and way forward to remove these barriers for better outreach and effective implementation of various schemes by adopting suitable practices.
