A better understanding of entrepreneurship in different sectors and its motivations, roles, and challenges offer new opportunities for entrepreneurs to start their business and participate in the national and global economy. This research studied the different entrepreneurial factors that influence the growth stage of public relations companies in Vietnam. In particular, the research examined how the founder's role shifted during the growth stage, and the motivations behind the founder's decision to retain or release their control in this stage. Using the inductive, grounded theory approach to explore the decision of a founder in Vietnam’s public relations industry during a company’s growth stage, this study found that public relations founders in Vietnam are generally driven by the accomplishments and challenges picked up from their entrepreneurial journey. Their journey mainly revolves around managerial experience, as the managerial tasks would be more complicated and require better managerial skills to address the challenges. They are also open to delegating their role to a professional manager, who already possesses the required management skills, to support the business.

Under globalisation, comparative educational studies have become more relevant. This paper is the first of its kind to compare education and training for principals in Vietnam and the U.S. and will offer among the few systematic studies on school leadership in Vietnam. Utilizing previous research on educational leadership and culture in the U.S. and Vietnam, and survey results from Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS) from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in 2018, I used t-test analyses to test several hypotheses about the differences between principals in the two countries. The findings suggest differences in age, gender, managerial experience, teaching obligation, and obtained levels of education and training between American principals and Vietnamese principals. Principals in the U.S. are younger and less experienced than principals in Vietnam. Level of education and need for professional development programs potentially indicate that American principals receive more thorough training in their education compared to Vietnamese principals. Accordingly, this comparative study provides valuable insights for both countries and contributes to diversifying the literature on educational leadership which the West has long dominated.

The question of why entrepreneurs undertake business planning activities differently, ranging from planning “in the head” to generating formal written documents, is still impenetrable. Aggregating data on 11,064 observations from 32 independent data set, this study meta-analyzed how business experience and gender influence entrepreneurs' disposition to business planning behaviors. Surprisingly, contradictory to some extant views that entrepreneurs without prior experience are more likely to make business plans, we found that both managerial experience and entrepreneurial experience positively influence entrepreneurs' subsequent business planning behaviors. Drawing insight from the effectuation and institutional perspectives, this study showed that, rather than entrepreneurial experience, managerial experience motivates entrepreneurs to generate formal business plans. For entrepreneurs who create formal business plans, both entrepreneurial experience and managerial experience enhance their business planning sophistication. In addition, we examined the moderating effects of gender on the relationship between business experience and business planning. The results suggested that female entrepreneurs with entrepreneurial experience are more likely to undertake business planning behaviors and create formal business plans than their male counterparts.

The article considers the scientific method of implementation and management of digital transformation of higher education, including technological, methodological and economic aspects. The problem field of introduction of new digital models and introduction of managerial experience is considered.Recent research proves the separation of digital transformation as a new area of scientific interest for management development researchers, as well as a new research paradigm. This transformation is undoubtedly interesting and promising, as it contains many aspects and components. The main reasons for slow implementation are the complexity of the problem, the lack of data for decision-making and the uncertainty of economic impact in the future. In the educational environment, this process is slower, perhaps due to fears that such transformation processes will disrupt the traditional academic model that has developed over many years and has been relevant and effective in an era of industrial growth for many years. The relevance of further research is confirmed by the fact that the process of forming a digital market for educational services is not complete. On the one hand, transformation significantly depends on the systematic process of education reform, the availability of clear institutional and public policies. On the other hand, the success of the continued existence and development of educational institutions in the post-pandemic environment will depend on changes in the standard academic paradigm and the introduction of new digital services in combination with quality academic education. Building and implementing new forms and models of education will require managers to take a comprehensive approach and rethink existing norms and standards of governance. The article continues the series of publications devoted to the assessment of activities of the heads of the Ministry of Railways of the Russian Empire. In this article, the authors attempt to systematize and analyze historical data on the activities of Klavdii Semyonovich Nemeshaev as the Minister of Railways of the Russian Empire. There are numerous biographical studies devoted to K. S. Nemeshaev, but little is known about his activities as a minister, and to date the data are scattered and not systematized. The analysis of archival materials, scientific publications, memoirs of Nemeshaev's contemporaries and colleagues allowed us to conduct a detailed assessment of his activities and ministerial policy. It has been found that despite his short term of office, Nemeshaev's consistent policy and extensive managerial experience allowed him to carry out two significant reforms in a short time. The first one involved redistribution of the state-owned railway lines between separate local administrations and merging them into larger groups, which was important in terms of improving their operations and facilitating the cost efficiency, as well as speeding up freight traffic. In opinion of the authors of this article, another important achievement of Nemeshaev as the Minister of Railways was the establishment in 1906 of the central, local and district committees regulating mass transportation of goods. This was the first centralized measure aimed at managing the rolling stock. Nemeshaev's extensive managerial experience, high erudition and energy also led to prominent outcomes in some other areas of the Ministry operation. Attempts were made to create syndicates of shipowners in river transport. Modernization of river and sea vessels was carried out. Works on projects for the development of the Northern Sea Route has begun. The article also assesses the development and construction of railway network in the Russian Empire during Nemeshaev's office, in particular, of the Amur Line and Moscow Encircle Railway, as well as the increase in the capacity of the Trans-Siberian Railway. It has been found out that K. S. Nemeshaev paid great attention to various social aspects of railway employees’ activities. The article also highlights the legislative policy of the Ministry of Railways of that period. Nemeshaev's participation in the preparation of the French scientist’s Paul Pelliot and the Russian officer’s Carl Gustaf Mannerheim joint trip to China has been analyzed. Due to the mass replacement of light and worn-out rails on state-owned railways with heavier ones and the need to discharge a significant number of steam locomotives built in the 1850s and 1860s, an introduction of more powerful steam locomotives was expedient. The article discusses K. S. Nemeshaev's contribution to the development of technology and the introduction of a new type of freight steam locomotive for state-owned railways. Nemeshaev's political views have also been assessed.
