Since the outbreak of the pandemic COVID-19, a huge amount of information has been released and shared by individuals, communities and specialized organizations. Language serves as a powerful tool on which information providers depend to convey their advice and instructions. In this study, the researchers examined the frequency of interactional metadiscourse markers in the WHO's director general's speeches regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and how those markers are used for communicative and persuasive effects. The corpus included 91 scripts with a different number of words making a total of 84,372 words. Hyland's (2005) model of metadiscourse was used to analyse the corpus. Data analysis revealed that interactional metadiscourse markers are heavily used by WHO director to deliver coherent speeches and to make his speeches persuasive. Moreover, the findings show that the speaker relied intensively on the use of self-mention marker and boosters to reflect the collaborative and assured attitude of the organization concerning the situation of the pandemic.

Cooperative Learning is a model of logic regarding the form, arrangement, magnitude and concepts related to each other. The concept is always related to everyday human life. Cooperative Learning in the form of Empowering Teacher Competencies in Strengthening Cooperative Learning Models Students not only increase curiosity but always develop according to the times, Cooperative Learning is a model that aims to instill and develop the learning process in teachers. Based on the results of observations at SDN Kenari 07 Pagi in the learning process, teachers still use conventional or teacher-centered teaching methods as information providers, with the literacy movement students are expected to improve the good quality of each problem-solving concept in the form of application questions. The purpose of this community service activity for PKM is Empowering Teacher Competence in Strengthening Cooperative Learning Learning Models is to increase knowledge which changes from time to time. The subjects of this community service are all students at SDN Kenari 07 Pagi.

With development of 5G, information economy era marked by IoT has come rapidly and it is the objective always pursued by logistics industry to improve informatization level. During the process of logistics informatization, all levels of governments and enterprises have taken construction of public logistics information level as the main direction of logistics informatization investment. How to build a set of effective information incentive mechanism is the joint pursuit of many logistics information platform administrators. On the basis of principal-agent model, information incentive mechanism is designed in the Paper. At the same time, necessary analysis of information incentive factors is carried out. The research indicates that, with traditional incentive measures, logistics information platform administrators can better stimulate logistics information providers and improve precision of logistics information by virtue of information incentive measures; during the process of informatization, logistics information platform administrators also need to build a supervision system on the basis of certain punitive measures.

AbstractAlthough critical for host defense, innate immune cells are also pathologic drivers of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Innate immune dynamics during Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) ARDS, compared to ARDS from other respiratory pathogens, is unclear. Moreover, mechanisms underlying the beneficial effects of dexamethasone during severe COVID-19 remain elusive. Using single-cell RNA sequencing and plasma proteomics, we discovered that, compared to bacterial ARDS, COVID-19 was associated with expansion of distinct neutrophil states characterized by interferon (IFN) and prostaglandin signaling. Dexamethasone during severe COVID-19 affected circulating neutrophils, altered IFNactive neutrophils, downregulated interferon-stimulated genes and activated IL-1R2+ neutrophils. Dexamethasone also expanded immunosuppressive immature neutrophils and remodeled cellular interactions by changing neutrophils from information receivers into information providers. Male patients had higher proportions of IFNactive neutrophils and preferential steroid-induced immature neutrophil expansion, potentially affecting outcomes. Our single-cell atlas (see ‘Data availability’ section) defines COVID-19-enriched neutrophil states and molecular mechanisms of dexamethasone action to develop targeted immunotherapies for severe COVID-19.

Antibiotic resistance (ABR) is a major growing global issue. The WHO report points out high proportions of resistance to common bacterial infections in all regions of the world. Common factors associated with resistance include non-adherence to the prescribed course, improper way of disposing the antibiotics (ABs), misuse and abuse, overuse, and underuse of antibiotics. Another complimenting factor for the increase in the antibiotic resistance is self-medication with antibiotics. This all has caused many infectious diseases to be untreatable. Community pharmacists act as primary source of healthcare information providers to whom the patient directly seeks medical advices. Thus, they can play a central role in ensuring the safer use of antibiotics in the community.

Approximately 100 Intellectual Property Information Services Centres have been established in Chinese university libraries, more than 80% of them since 2017. The context of this boom in Intellectual Property Information Services Centres is the rapidly increasing number of patent applications in China, as well as an unacceptably low transfer ratio. Do Intellectual Property Information Services Centres represent a promising direction for university library transformation? This is the central issue addressed in this article. The characteristics of the Chinese evolutionary path and driving forces are discussed, and distinctive intellectual property information service practices are studied and summarized. Comparisons are made with the USA, the UK, Europe and India. With Intellectual Property Information Services Centres, university libraries can evolve from information providers to innovation catalysts, and establish closer connections between universities, communities and industries. The impacts of Intellectual Property Information Services Centres on university librarianship are multifaceted. The trends and challenges of intellectual property information services are also discussed in the article.

Information is necessary for eliminating uncertainty and facilitating decision-making. Quality of decisions depends upon the quality of information available to the stakeholders. But to manage access to quality information, information seekers have to depend upon different sources of information, media, and other information providers. Unfortunately, the commercial media is controlled by corporate tycoons, governments, politicians and various non-government organisations (NGOs). These information providers have some motive behind the stories flashed by them. Hence, media and information literacy (MIL) skills are necessary for ascertaining truth behind the story. Earlier, information literacy and media literacy were used as separate concepts but now UNESCO is using (MIL) as a composite concept, appreciating the symbiosis between media and information. This article gives an overview of a few MIL related developments and describes the e-ARTISTS MIL Model developed by Jagtar Singh and Alton Grizzle. Differentiating the e-ARTISTS Model from the Big6 Model and the Empowering 8 Model of Information Literacy, it justifies the need for e-ARTISTS MIL Model for managing timely access to quality information for facilitating quality decision-making.

This research is motivated by the many problems of government activities that are currently increasingly being highlighted by the community, especially those related to public services organized by the Government agencies of the Communication and Informatics Office of Banyumas Regency. One problem is that public institutions, which in fact act as information providers, are led to work continuously by preparing a database of information for publication. Thus the purpose of this study is to determine the activities of public service information management in realizing the quality of communication in the Communication and Informatics Office of Banyumas Regency. The purpose of this research is to find out how public servants are a way for the Communication and Information Technology Office to provide transparent, accurate, fair services to the public, so that public agencies can produce quality services. Furthermore, documenting information, which is an activity of recording and storing all information that has been obtained in the work unit by authenticating information, coding the information and its relation to the packaging of information.
