A pea breeding program to increase production in quantity and quality was started in 2005 in the College of Agrarian Sciences (FCA), National University of Rosario (UNR). The first steps were to gather an active collection of germplasm from around the world and to analyze genetic variability through morpho-agronomic and molecular traits in order to set objectives. In 2014, the National Institute of Agropecuarian Technology (INTA) and the FCA-UNR, joined forces to unite inter-institutional efforts for promoting the local development of pea genotypes adapted to the region. This program, using conventional methodologies, has so far obtained a new commercial line (Primogénita FCA-INTA) of green cotyledons, semi-leafless, with high adaptation to local agro ecological conditions and high yield potential. Breeding, nevertheless, is a slow process. Developing new pea varieties usually takes a decade or more when using traditional methodologies; thus, different alternatives were proposed for the reduction of this period. Doubled haploids and in vitro culture have been some of the methodologies developed; in pulses, however, they have not been efficiently implemented in breeding programs. In this context, Speed Breeding emerges as a technology that allows increasing the efficiency of the programs, while reducing costs and the required labor. Abstract Purpose In recent years, the expectations for telesurgery have grown with the development of robot-assisted surgical technology and advances in communication technology. To verify the feasibility of the social implementation of telesurgery, we evaluated the communication integrity, availability, and communication delay of robotic surgery by remote control under different communication conditions of commercial lines. Methods A commercial line was used to connect hospitals 150 km apart. We had prepared guaranteed-type lines (1Gbps, 10Mbps, 5Mbps) and best effort-type lines. Two types of robotic teleoperations were performed, and we evaluated the round-trip time (RTT) of communication, packet loss, and glass-to-glass time. Results The communication delay was 4 ms for the guaranteed-type line and 10 ms for the best effort-type line. Packet loss occurred on the 5 Mbps guaranteed-type line. The mean glass-to-glass time was 92 ms for the guaranteed-type line and 95 ms for the best effort-type line. There was no significant difference in the number of errors in the task according to the type of line or the bandwidth speed. Conclusions The social implementation of telesurgery using the currently available commercial communication network is feasible.

Hydropower generated systems are one of the common source to generate energy. The renewable energy generation system is designed to use the water flow from an overhead tank during normal consumption of water for domestic use. The system produces electricity from the potential energy of water flow through water pipelines by changing the kinetic energy of water into electricity. The electrical energy is stored in batteries for domestic purposes like lighting and other electrical applications. The system has two turbines coupled with generator, placed at the inlet and outlet pipe of the water tank. The status of water level is detected with the help of float sensor. The motor performs automatically according to the level of water. The generated power is informed to the user and then stored in a battery storage unit. When the energy saved within the battery is sufficient an inverter is switched ON for domestic use. During the normal time of working load receives power from the ordinary commercial line. The system is simulated with Proteus software and analysed.

Frozen berries have a number of undeniable advantages: they do not require additional preparation costs, are almost ready to eat, and most importantly, thanks to modern technologies, they retain almost twice as much nutrients as with other canning methods. Increasingly, there are risks associated with internal and external factors, as well as problems with excess yields that threaten not to sell the product fresh. short shelf life immediately after harvest, which increases the critical dependence on market prices. One of the progressive technological methods of processing fruit and berry products is quick freezing. The use of such freezing gives, first of all, a low degree of product damage, minimally reduces the biological value and taste characteristics, and the use of freezing does not significantly affect the quality of the thawed product.The main task of an industrial or commercial line for shock freezing of berries is to ensure almost instantaneous preservation of the product, which will retain all its nutritional value and taste. This is usually achieved by rapidly chilling the berries to -18 °C. By far the best option for extending the shelf life of freshly cooked food is to freeze it quickly. There are various options, but the best known is the freezing technology. For instant freezing without crystallization, it is necessary to provide a temperature of -5 ...- 18 °C. Experimental data were obtained during research. The temperature regime of storage of currants with the preservation of quality indicators using a freezing device is also considered. When frozen quickly, the berries should be blown from all sides or literally float in a stream of frosty air of the appropriate temperature. The duration of this process depends on the type and size of the berries, as well as on the intensity of the cooling air flow. The current direction in the field of research of frozen berries is the preservation of consumer properties of berries after freezing

Abstract Background The aim of the current study was to improve our understanding of the origins and transmission of Mycobacterium africanum (MAF) in Norway. Methods Whole-genome sequences (WGS) were generated for all (n = 29) available clinical isolates received at the Norwegian National Reference Laboratory for Mycobacteria (NRL) and identified as MAF in Norway, in the period 2010–2020. Phylogenetic analyses were performed. Results The analyses indicated several imports of MAF lineage 6 from both East and West African countries, whereas MAF lineage 5 was restricted to patients with West African connections. We also find evidence for transmission of MAF in Norway. Finally, our analyses revealed that a group of isolates from patients originating in South Asia, identified as MAF by means of a commercial line-probe assay, in fact belonged to Mycobacterium orygis. Conclusions Most MAF cases in Norway are the result of import, but transmission is occurring within Norway.

In order to reduce maintenance labor of overhead contact lines (OCL), a contactless measurement device for OCL was developed. This device is mounted on a roof of a vehicle of a train and measures static three-dimensional positions of wires of OCL and detects positions of OCL fittings without touching the OCL while the train is running. We proposed hybrid sensing method that combines stereo measurement by image processing with structure measurement by laser range scanners and it realized to measure OCL geometry with high-precision even in sections with complicated OCL structure. In addition, we developed position detection method of the OCL fittings that can cope with changes in height and stagger of OCL by using machine learning. Measurement data of OCL contactless measurement device is static position of OCL without influence of a probe such as a pantograph. With this device, the OCL static position can be measured continuously instead of at each support point or dropper point. For maintenance of OCL, the criterion of OCL is defined as a static position. The device is utilizable for OCL maintenance and it sophisticate maintenance of OCL. For example, this device realize the height difference measurement of the crossing section, which has been conventionally measured by maintenance workers. In addition, the device are utilizable for OCL fittings inspection. Maintenance workers can check the image of OCL fittings without on foot into the field. Furthermore the static position data of OCL can be used to create simulation model of OCL dynamic behavior. Using this model, it is possible to know the dynamic response of cases where various pantographs pass at various speeds. Running tests was conducted on commercial line, and the performance of the device was verified when running at a speed of 130 km/h. The results shown that the repeated measurement accuracy is within 10 mm, and the OCL fitting detection rate is 90 % or more.

AbstractAnalysing pig class II mayor histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules is mainly related to antigen presentation. Identifying frequently-occurring alleles in pig populations is an important aspect to be considered when developing peptide-based vaccines. Colombian creole pig populations have had to adapt to local conditions since entering Colombia; a recent census has shown low amounts of pigs which is why they are considered protected by the Colombian government. Commercial hybrids are more attractive regarding production. This research has been aimed at describing the allele distribution of Colombian pigs from diverse genetic backgrounds and comparing ColombianSLA-DRB1locus diversity to that of internationally reported populations. TwentySLA-DRB1alleles were identified in the six populations analysed here using sequence-based typing. The amount of alleles ranged from six (Manta and Casco Mula) to nine (San Pedreño). Only one allele (01:02) having > 5% frequency was shared by all three commercial line populations. Allele 02:01:01 was shared by five populations (around > 5% frequency). Global FSTindicated that pig populations were clearly structured, as 20.6% of total allele frequency variation was explained by differences between populations (FST = 0.206). This study’s results confirmed that the greatest diversity occurred in wild boars, thereby contrasting with low diversity in domestic pig populations.

The available of conventional fuels are fluctuating depend on distribution from the source production to consumer. The availability of biogas as renewable energy is increasing due to establishments of many organic wastes processing worldwide. The need of electricity to support daily life activity is a must, but the availability of electric source in remote area is limited especially for a farm that far away from commercial line distribution of electricity. This work is dedicated to solve this problem. The single cylinder 4 stroke spark ignition engine (83 cc) was designed to be able to be fuelled flexibly by using biogas or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), or gasoline if sometime the biogas not available during initiation of the process or during maintenance of anaerobic digester. The engine is still can be run to provide electricity by using conventional fuel such as LPG or gasoline. The full consumption as well as emission of this flexible fuel engine was investigated. It is found that the fuel consumption is 9.97 L/mint for Biogas, 0.004 L/mint for gasoline and 2.24 L/mint for LPG. Surprisingly by using biogas the emission of carbon monoxide (CO) was down to almost zero (0.02 ppm), comparing gasoline 0.32 ppm, and LPG 0.4 ppm.
