Current environmental safety rules and regulations require power companies to apply for comprehensive environmental permits calculating permissible emissions of cancer-causing and mutagenic substances for each source of pollution. Difficulties of instrument testing and monitoring of cancer-causing emissions prevent industrial companies from adequate regulatory limit applications. The author of this paper proposes research results on gas duct sizing for boiler plants in order to allow engineers performing correct instrument testing for compliance with the requirements of comprehensive environmental permits.

In the validity test of work communication, there are 9 statements and all are valid. In the validity test of work motivation, there are 5 statements and all are valid. In the validity test of employee performance, there are 9 statements and all are valid. Furthermore, the classical assumption test includes multicollinearity test and heteroscedasticity test. Meanwhile, the hypothesis test in this research applies multiple regression analysis and the coefficient of determination. The results of this research indicate that: (1) Work Communication (X1) has a partially significant influence on the Employee Performance variable (Y). This is demonstrated by the magnitude of the significance value of 0.029 which is smaller than 0.05. In accordance with these results, it can be concluded that work communication has a significant effect on the employee performance of PT. Catur Mitra Sejati Sentosa. (2) Work Motivation (X2) has a partially significant influence on Employee Performance (Y). This is indicated by the magnitude of the significance value of more than 0.008 which is smaller than 0.05. According to these results, it can be inferred that work motivation has a significant effect on the employee performance of PT. Catur Mitra Sejati Sentosa. (3) Work Communication (X1) and Work Motivation (X2) have a significant effect simultaneously on the Employee Performance variable (Y). This is revealed by the magnitude of the significance value of more than 0.008 which is smaller than 0.05. Based on these results, it can be concluded that work motivation has a significant effect on the employee performance of PT. Catur Mitra Sejati Sentosa. (3) Work Communication (X1) and Work Motivation (X2) have a significant effect simultaneously on the Employee Performance variable (Y).

Background. Children need to get protection during the Covid-19 pandemic, in accordance with Presidential Regulation 12/2020 on The Determination of Non-Natural Disasters. The purpose of the research is to develop non-natural disaster risk instruments for children. Research methods. This type of research is Research and Development. The participant population is divided into 3 roles, Focussed group discussion participants (20 people), instrument testing (267 respondents) and experts (methodology experts and disaster experts). Instrument development is carried out in 5 (five) stages, namely: 1) instrument evaluation; 2) development; 3) experiment; 4) socialization; 5) recommendations. The results showed that from 32 valid items, 25 items were all reliable because the Cronbach alpha value was above 0.7. Not valid for 7 items. The results of the instrument trial of 267 children, who had the potential to be exposed to Covid-19 were 69% who were not exposed to 31%. Of the 69%, strong exposure is 2%, high exposure is 15% and medium exposure is 83%. Conclusion: The developed non-natural disaster risk instrument can be used to assess disaster risk for children. The instrument works well, has efficiency, functionality and usability. Outputs: 1) disaster risk instruments for children; 2) intellectual property rights; 3) publication of international journals 4) monograph books.

Abstract: In the process of learning to write Chinese descriptive text, students are required to be able to write essays using 汉字 [hànzì] 'Han Character that is appropriate and can be understood by the reader. The use of the chain writing method in learning focuses on writing activities actively and in groups. This study aims to determine the initial ability to write descriptive text in Chinese Language Education students, class 2018 Universitas Negeri Malang and the effectiveness of the chain writing method on the ability to write descriptive text in Chinese. The research method used is quantitative research with comparative non-parametric analysis. The data obtained in the form of pretest and posttest scores were analyzed using a Likert scale. Instrument testing is carried out using construct validity to material expert lecturers. From the results of the posttest for both classes, a U-test was conducted to see the difference in average scores, as well as an N-gain score test to see the level of effectiveness of using the chain writing method. The results showed that the chain writing method was effectively applied to the ability to write descriptive Chinese text for the 2018 Chinese Language Education students, Universitas Negeri Malang.

Although questionnaires are widely used in construction management studies, designing the instrument has proven to be a difficult task among research students. This article explored the process of developing and testing questionnaires for construction management studies focusing on managing risks in Public Private Partnership (PPP) housing projects. The processes of developing questionnaire were grouped into four stages consisting of the background, conceptualization, design and instrument testing and administration. Using the processes identified, a flowchart indicating step-by-step stages for developing questionnaires was designed. Results of validity and reliability tests conducted on certain aspects of the questionnaire indicated that the instrument can be relied upon to generate acceptable data for scientific research. The main contribution of this paper is expanding the scope and simplifying the design of questionnaire among upcoming researchers in the field of construction management. This study recommends the design for students undertaking construction management related studies.
