Globally considered one of the most persecuted minority groups, the Rohingyas are a predominantly Muslim ethnic group in northern Rakhine who have fled Myanmar in a large-scale exodus since August 2017. More than 700,000 refugees fled to Bangladesh after a military crackdown on Rohingyas last August, following the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army’s attack on Myanmar’s military posts. This massive refugee outflow of Rohingya Muslims from Myanmar into Bangladesh has created a humanitarian crisis that carries implications on regional stability and security and also outrage among the international community. As a neighbor country, Bangladesh expects India’s respond promptly to support the government. This paper briefly examines India’s approach towards the Roh-ingya crisis and explores ways for India through its role in humanitarian and geopolitical including diplomatic, domestic political compulsions, security and economic interest. It also analyses India’s response to the Rohingya crisis focusing on India-Myanmar relations and also India’s need to counter China’s growing influence in its neighborhood. The paper also argues that as a neighbor friend and partner of Bangladesh, the role of India in Rohingya crisis has become a global expectation for peace and conflict resolution.

This article will explain Australia's attitudes and views on the East Timor issue which caused conflict with Indonesia. But on the other hand, Australia cannot ignore Indonesia's interests in East Timor. In 1978, Australia recognized East Timor "de facto" as part of Indonesia. Then, the question arises why Australia supports the integration of East Timor with Indonesia. What are the underlying interests. The Timor Gap Treaty was ratified on 11 December 1989, strengthening Indonesia's position with Australia. Indonesia is considered more accommodating when compared to Portugal in the matter of maritime boundaries in the Timor Sea region. Indonesia is the most important neighbor country for Australia. In terms of Australian defense, the Indonesian archipelago is a stronghold in northern Australia. This is based on Australia's interest in regional security free from the intervention of other hostile countries. Therefore, the importance of efforts to create government stability in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to determine the dynamics of Australian foreign policy as seen from the Australian security and defense framework in looking at the East Timor issue. In addition, this research will discuss the Opposition to the Balibo Declaration and the Indonesian military intervention in East Timor which invites Australia's ambiguous attitude in addressing the integration of East Timor with Indonesia. Even though it was always at odds with Indonesia, Australia continued to prioritize its national interests in dealing with Indonesia.

Abstract The short story of “Araby” by James Joyce was published in 1914 in Dubliners which is a collection of fifteen short stories set in the Dublin city of Northern Ireland. “Araby” is one of those short stories in which traces of the colonization of Ireland by the Great Britain in the nineteenth century can be found. Since the context of the short story is set in Dublin, analyzing it in light of post-colonial theory has made it a special case. Because despite the majority of literary works which are analyzed in light of post-colonial theory and in which the contrast between east and west geographically is quite visible, in “Araby” this contrast is not clear-cut and the culture of two neighbor countries are so close and as a consequent so difficult to claim cultural and religious colonization by a neighbor country. This essay investigates the way Joyce has portrayed the cultural, political, economic and social domination of Britain over Ireland, specifically Dublin. The essay also explores the context where Joyce had the motivation to write Dubliners and shows the fundamental principles of post-colonialism such as language, the notion of superior/inferior, cultural polyvalency, Self/Other and the critical tenets of Homi K. Bhabha including mimicry, liminality or hybridity and finds these tenets within this short story. The essay also investigates the way James Joyce has employed symbolism in order to portray his reaction to the domination of Britain over Ireland.
