AbstractThere are only a few previous EEG studies that were conducted while the audience is listening to live music. However, in laboratory settings using music recordings, EEG frequency bands theta and alpha are connected to music improvisation and creativity. Here, we measured EEG of the audience in a concert-like setting outside the laboratory and compared the theta and alpha power evoked by partly improvised versus regularly performed familiar versus unfamiliar live classical music. To this end, partly improvised and regular versions of pieces by Bach (familiar) and Melartin (unfamiliar) were performed live by a chamber trio. EEG data from left and right frontal and central regions of interest were analysed to define theta and alpha power during each performance. After the performances, the participants rated how improvised and attractive each of the performances were. They also gave their affective ratings before and after each performance. We found that theta power was enhanced during the familiar improvised Bach piece and the unfamiliar improvised Melartin piece when compared with the performance of the same piece performed in a regular manner. Alpha power was not modulated by manner of performance or by familiarity of the piece. Listeners rated partly improvised performances of a familiar Bach and unfamiliar Melartin piece as more improvisatory and innovative than the regular performances. They also indicated more joy and less sadness after listening to the unfamiliar improvised piece of Melartin and less fearful and more enthusiastic after listening to the regular version of Melartin than before listening. Thus, according to our results, it is possible to study listeners’ brain functions with EEG during live music performances outside the laboratory, with theta activity reflecting the presence of improvisation in the performances.

AbstractThe characteristics of nonstatic quantum light waves in the coherent state in a static environment is investigated. It is shown that the shape of the wave varies periodically as a manifestation of its peculiar properties of nonstaticity like the case of the Fock-state analysis for a nonstatic wave. A belly occurs in the graphic of wave evolution whenever the wave is maximally displaced in the quadrature space, whereas a node takes place every time the wave passes the equilibrium point during its oscillation. In this way, a belly and a node appear in turn successively. Whereas this change of wave profile is accompanied by the periodic variation of electric and magnetic energies, the total energy is conserved. The fluctuations of quadratures also vary in a regular manner according to the wave transformation in time. While the resultant time-varying uncertainty product is always larger than (or, at least, equal to) its quantum-mechanically allowed minimal value ($$\hbar /2$$ ħ / 2 ), it is smallest whenever the wave constitutes a belly or a node. The mechanism underlying the abnormal features of nonstatic light waves demonstrated here can be interpreted by the rotation of the squeezed-shape contour of the Wigner distribution function in phase space.

Abstract Background Among the modern Western countries where the issue of religiosity has been studied, the United States and Italy offer the only examples of empirically verified periods when religious practice was consolidated or even revived to some extent. A recent study, however, shows that the nature of religious exceptionalism in the United States does not constitute a real counterexample. This leaves Italy as the only country that might provide evidence of the falseness of the assumption that the secularization process is inescapable. Purpose This study seeks to enhance our knowledge about the case of Italy, where the many surveys conducted over the years have produced a wide variety of often divergent results, prompting a fervent debate among scholars. Several authors argue that the level of participation remained almost constant from 1980 to 1990. Others, on the contrary, claim that the level of participation increased between 1980 and 2000. This paper contributes to this path of study, aiming to shed light on the development of religiosity in Italy between 1910 and 2013. Methods Different data sets—time use surveys, ‘stylized surveys’, direct surveys and other kind of data—and an innovative method will be used to develop the reasoning and trace the trend of secularization. Results As will be shown, there are discontinuities in the pattern of religious practice over time. These fractures were due to attrition caused in turn by factors related to economic phenomena like migration and political/ideological subcultures, which temporarily changed the level of religious practice and, at least for a time, counterbalanced the long-term trend away from religious practice. Conclusions and Implications The trends presented suggest that secularization in Italy developed without any discontinuity, leading to confirmation that modernization and religious action ‘counteracted’ each other in an extremely regular manner. Therefore, according to the current state of knowledge, no documented modern Western country constitutes a counterexample to the secularization thesis. It can thus be claimed that modernization and secularization are inextricably linked processes.

AbstractIn German, complement clauses embedded by the wh-wordwie(‘how’) have two different readings. The first is a manner reading expressing a manner or method of doing something. The second is calledeventivein this paper because it expresses an event in progress instead of a manner. Ruling out ambiguity ofwie, the question arises of why a manner word is used to express an event in progress. The basic semantic hypothesis in this paper is thatwieexpresses similarity (as it does in, e.g., similes). The paper starts from the observation that in the manner readingwiehas a base position next to the verb and is a modifier of the event type whereas in the eventive reading it is base-generated above VP and thus adds information about the event token. The analysis includes two components: First, manners are considered as sets of similar events (instead of primitive objects), and methods, in particular, are considered as sets of similar sequences of subevents. Secondly, events in progress are seen as initial sequences in sets of similar natural continuations. From this point of view, an event in progress is like a method comprising sequences of subevents that share the same initial part. This analysis provides a semantic interpretation explaining why the wh-wordwieexpresses both the regular manner reading and the eventive reading depending on whether it modifies the event type or the event token.

While IoT has huge social impact, it comes with a number of key security Challenges. Smart devices are vulnerable to variety of attacks. In this project, we propose the solution to detect all types of attacks in an IoT environment. For this, we initially create the wireless network and then implement mobility and energy in every node of the network. Later we intentionally create some malicious in the network for detecting the attacks. Then, we Perform data transmission between the nodes as a regular manner. For data transmission we used AODV protocol. Finally, we identified the malicious behavior and perform analysis on that collected data and then detected the attacks. It also detected the types of attack occurred.


In the spring industry both power and hand-operated machines are used.As the making of spring in a regular manner takes a lot of time and energy.to make several springs with less time and less energy, there is a need for an alternative spring making mechanism. Traditionally making of spring requires some operations on lathe machine like fixing and loosing checks, removing springs from the shafts. the solution to this problem is the design and fabrication of a multidimensional spring rolling machine. our project is simple by having a motor with pully to drive the shafts. The gap between the spring coil can be regulated by a proper arrangement that can guide the wire automatically. Design and fabrication of spring rolling machines include electric sewing motor, pulley, shaft, and belt.to overcome the limitations that are in the traditional lathe machine spring making process. This project gives suitable ways to produce springs of wire diameter up to 6mm, inner diameter up to 20mm.the proposed springs are capable of bearing maximum loads of 100N for three different materials like copper aluminum, steel.

The need to hold a meeting will arise in many different and diverse situations. All meetings are subject to procedural rules and regulations of the particular institution that has convened the meeting. The reason why there are rules and regulations is so that the participants at a duly convened meeting can transact business in a lawful manner and so that they will be able to debate and discuss issues in an orderly fashion. This book is concerned with the meetings of solvent companies that are registered and incorporated under the statutory provisions regulating companies. The reason for the requirement for meetings under the Companies Act 2006 (CA 2006) is so that the members can attend either in person or by proxy in order to debate and vote on matters affecting the affairs of a company. There are a number of procedures, some that are derived from the common law and others that are the creation of statute, that have to be observed in order for a meeting of a company to transact business in a lawful and regular manner.

The article is dedicated to the normative-legal governing of protection of civil objects and objects of critical infrastructureunder the conditions of an armed conflict, that unconditionally is the key aspect to developing the national system of firmnessand sustainability and of course the survival of the state under the conditions of hybrid threats.It has been determined that the prohibitions that are set by the norms of international humanitarian law on the impossibility toinflict damage on civil objects or objects of critical infrastructure are often violated under the conditions of armed conflict andhybrid attacks, and therefore only prohibitions will turn out to be insufficient to achieve the state of protection for a society fromuncontrolled challenges and threats.It has also been pointed out, that there’s a critical growth of the level of threats not only to the economic, but also to theecological security of Ukraine. The absence of clear assessment of the scale of demolition, the duration of the situation and thecontinuity of the physical demolition of the infrastructure and civil objects on a significant part of the territory of the Donetsk andLuhansk regions do not allow to carry out precise assessment of losses and expenditures for Ukraine. The losses inflicted andcaused by the armed conflict in the Donbass are currently being assessed by Ukraine, UN, USAID and independent experts in adifferent manner.It has been pointed out that in the course of the Antiterrorist operation and the Operation of the United Forces in the east ofUkraine, as an addition to the most frightening phenomenon – the death of people, there’re also thousands of objects ofinfrastructure damaged and destroyed including housing. Thousands of families are left homeless, or with their houses damagedto such an extent that there’s no possibility to live there in a save and regular manner. Additionally, there’re plenty of civil objectsand objects of infrastructure that have been destroyed, the networks of water, heat, gas and electricity supply, as well as objectsthat assure the flow of used water and sewage, roads objects of social and cultural purpose, such as schools, kindergartens,healthcare entities, cultural and historical monuments etc.It has been proven, that the classification of objects of critical infrastructure is to be done with the inclusion of the followingcriteria such as: their importance to carry out the vital functions; the existing threats they could be damaged by; the duration ofactivities for their reconstruction and restoring with additional stress made on the issues of establishing a legislative basis torestore and rebuilt the civil objects and objects of critical infrastructure that have been damaged as a consequence of the armedconflict.

AbstractObjectivesVarious jurisdictions have legalized cannabis for medical purposes. As with all psychoactive medications, medical cannabis carries a risk of diversion and accidental ingestion. These risks may be particularly high among long-term medical cannabis patients as safety practices may become less salient to patients once the treatment becomes part of everyday life. The current study examines whether patients who have used medical cannabis for longer periods differ from those who have used for shorter periods in terms of sociodemographic background and other key aspects of medical cannabis use. Furthermore, the study examines the relationship between length of medical cannabis treatment and risk factors related to storage and diversion. Finally, the study examines the extent to which oncologists provide information to their patients about safe storage and disposal.MethodsOne hundred twenty-one medical cannabis oncology patients were interviewed face-to-face and 55 oncologists participated in a survey about safe storage and disposal practices related to medical cannabis.ResultsLength of medical cannabis treatment was related to administration by smoking and using higher monthly dosages. In terms of risk for unsafe storage and diversion, length of medical cannabis was positively associated with using cannabis outside the home and having been asked to give away medical cannabis. Physicians did not report providing information to patients regarding safe storage and disposal practices in a regular manner.Significance of resultsResults suggest that there is an ongoing risk of unsafe storage and diversion over the course of medical cannabis treatment. Oncologists may need to give more consistent and continued training in safe storage and disposal practices, especially among long-term medical cannabis patients.

      Spray pyrolysis technique was subjected to synthesized (SnO2)1-x (TiO2: CuO) x Thin films on different substrates like glass and single crystal silicon using. The structure of the deposited films was studied using x-ray diffraction. A more pronounced diffraction peaks of SnO2 while no peaks of (CuO , TiO2 ) phase appear in the X-ray profiles by increasing of the content of (TiO2 , CuO) in the sprayed films. Mixing concentration (TiO2 , CuO) influences on the size of the crystallites of the SnO2 films ,the size of crystallites of the spray paralyzed oxide films change in regular manner by increasing of (TiO2 , CuO) amount. The effect of mixing concentration on the optical properties of the films was also investigated. The reflectance and transmittance spectra  in the wavelength range (300-1100) nm were employed to determine the optical properties such as energy band gap (Eg) and refractive index (n),  extinction coefficient  (k) , real and imaginary parts of dielectric constants (ε1, ε2) for (SnO2)1-x(TiO2:CuO)x films. The energy band gap omit of which showed reduction from (3.65 to 2.2) eV by reducing of SnO2 amount from (100 to 70) % .The reduction of energy band gap was ascribed to the new tail states introduced in the band gap of tin oxide. The sensitivity of the prepared sensor film was determined resistance difference of the films when exposed to oxidizing gas. The data declared that the mixed SnO2 films have better sensitivity in comparison with unmixed films.
