Amor fati. Além-do-homem. From Decadence to Great Health: a bridge to the Nietzschean beyond-manABSTRACTThis article discusses decadence and great health, themes frequently present in Nietzsche's philosophy, where decadence appears as a synonym for disease and in opposition to what he called “great health”. It begins by approaching the man's illness process, where it is discussed, mainly the concept of health. Then, the idea of man as being sick is addressed, based on his great boredom: nihilism. And at this point nihilism is analyzed, according to Nietzsche's reading undertaken by Deleuze, from its four sides: negative, reactive, passive and active. Finally, an understanding of the eternal return and amor fati is presented, in order to arrive at the idea of great health, which can offer the conditions for the possibility of understanding the Nietzschean notion of beyond-man.Keywords: Nietzsche. Decadence. Health. Love fati. Beyond-man.

فلسفة النظام القانوني الإسلامي في تحريم جرائم تعاطي الخمور و المشروبات الكحولية مقارنة بالنظام القانوني الأنجلوسكسكوني This research aims to identify alcohol and alcoholic beverages consumption according to Islamic scholars and legislators especially Anglo-Saxon. It also defines wine in modem medicine as well as prohibition of alcohol in the Islamic law and the evidence contained in it. Research illustrates steps made by the Islamic legislator to prohibit alcohol because drinking wine was familiar to pre- Islamic society; hence, gradual prohibition has helped them to give up wine. Research also discusses the wisdom behind prohibition of wine as Islamic legislator targets the advantages for the benefit and good of community members. Research also clarifies the elements of the crime of drinking wine and evidences of committing this crime, as well as clarifying the penalty determined for wine and alcohol takers in Islamic legislation and compares the situation with positive laws. This comparison points up the superiority of Islamic law in its ability to combat these crimes. Research also illustrates removal of the penalty in the Islamic jurisprudence in case of suspicion. This explains the greatness of this legislation by considering the doubts and evidences so that accusation should not be based on suspicion. Researcher concludes by the necessity of raising awareness and insight among people to the danger of alcohol consumption that may lead to loss of innocent lives in addition to the great health risks that may cause definite death. Families should also raise their children in a sound way so that they become good members in their families and communities as well. Governments should also maintain their obligations towards their citizens and concern about of youth

Recent studies show that environmental noise in urban environments continues to be a great health risk. This noise is especially further transmitted by the hard materials that are mostly used for façades. To predict these effects it is desirable to have a reliable prediction method. There are already several ways to predict sound levels in an urban context. This paper investigates two while focusing specifically on a practical approach to show that the methods are suitable to use during an actual design project. The impact of changing a façade at a specific location is investigated using both prediction methods. A façade which reflects sound to a location where it has a smaller impact, a sound absorbing façade, and a façade which combines both are taken into consideration. These façade adaptions have the potential to improve the sound levels in the investigated area from 1.7 up to 9.3 dB(A).

The proverbial benefits of prevention over cure are self-evident—and yet we are reluctant to invest in staying healthy. Resolution of this age-old dilemma begins with a timeless truth: the benefits of good health come at a cost: prevention is not better than cure at any price. That logic leads to a testable—and refutable—proposition: that prevention should be favoured when an imminent, high-risk, high-impact hazard can be averted at relatively low cost. Application of this idea helps to explain why cigarette smoking is still commonplace, why the world was not ready for the COVID-19 pandemic, why the idea of a ‘sin tax’ is misconceived, why billions still do not have access to safe sanitation, why the response to climate change has been so slow, and why public health advice often falls on deaf ears. Much more money and effort are invested in health promotion and prevention today than is commonly thought, but the enormous avoidable burden of illness is reason to seek incentives for investing still more. The principles, together with a series of case studies in diverse settings, offer 12 lessons for prevention. These are methods and motives for shifting the balance away from reactive medical treatment, bypassing illness and injury, to promote better health and well-being.

Abstract Background Ptaquiloside (PTA), caudatoside (CAU) and ptesculentoside (PTE) are carcinogenic illudane glycosides found in bracken ferns (Pteridium spp.) world-wide. The environmentally mobile PTA entails both acute and chronic toxicity. A comparable risk might be associated with the structurally similar CAU and PTE. It is of great health concern if these compounds are present in drinking water, however, it is currently unknown if these compounds can detected in wells in bracken-dominated regions. This study investigates the presence of PTA, CAU, PTE, and their corresponding hydrolysis products pterosins B (PtB), A (PtA) and G (PtG) in water wells in Denmark, Sweden and Spain. Water samples from a total of 77 deep groundwater wells (40–100 m) and shallow water wells (8–40 m) were collected and preserved in the field, pre-concentrated in the laboratory and analysed by liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS). Results Deep groundwater wells contained neither illudane glycosides nor their pterosins. However, seven private shallow wells contained at least one of the illudane glycosides and/or pterosins at concentrations up to 0.27 µg L−1 (PTA), 0.75 µg L−1 (CAU), 0.05 µg L−1 (PtB), 0.03 µg L−1 (PtA) and 0.28 µg L−1 (PtG). This is the first finding of illudane glycosides and pterosins in drinking water wells. Conclusions Detected concentrations of illudane glycosides in some of investigated wells exceeded the suggested maximum tolerable concentrations of PTA, although they were used for drinking water purpose. Contaminated wells were shallow with neutral pH and lower electric conductivity compared to deep groundwater wells with no illudane glycosides nor pterosins.
