This study aims to determine and describe the function of controlling the circulation of prohibited cosmetics at the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) Kendari City (Central Market Case Study of Kendan City). conclusions/verification. The results showed that Drugs and Food (BPOM) Kendani City in terms of carrying out activities carried out according to previously established standards have been carried out properly, namely carrying out intensification or inspections to places where there are indications that there are prohibited cosmetics containing ingredients.  And the aspect of carrying out monitoring is not optimal because some people who are still unfamiliar with gadgets or applications cannot use BPOM Mobile, this application can be used before buying cosmetics so that they are not only tempted by instant results but also pay attention to whether the cosmetics are safe or not.  Has been carried out properly, supervision through print media and social media to educate the public about choosing cosmetic products that are safe and free of prohibited substances. In terms of taking corrective actions if they get deviations from obstacles, they are not optimal, because there are still some people who are less cooperative if they know of cosmetics containing prohibited substances.

The COVID-19 pandemic has influenced the manner in which school activities are organized and the way that interactions occur between all educational actors. According to both teacher and parent opinion, the quality of cooperation and communication between the school and the families has not been affected. The use of modern means of communication is considered by both parents and primary school teachers as an optimal strategy for strengthening the school-family partnership. This study presents several types of activities that parents have enjoyed and which could be organized in the online environment. The authors of the study have discovered that for some parents it was very comfortable to interact with the teacher in the online environment. For these parents, the main advantage of using communication platforms or applications refers to economy of time; thus, travel from their home or job to the school was avoided.

Phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) and Alsever’s solution (AS) are frequently used as media in blood-related studies, while 0.9% normal saline (NS) is frequently used in transfusion medicine. Despite the frequent use, the effects of these solutions on the shape and volume of red blood cells (RBCs) have not been reported. We collected blood samples from five healthy adults and used three-dimensional refractive index tomography to investigate the changes in the morphology of RBCs caused by changes in osmolality and solutes at the single-cell level. After diluting 2 μL of RBCs 200-fold with each solution (PBS, AS, and 0.9% NS), 40 randomly selected RBCs were microscopically observed. RBC shape was measured considering sphericity, which is a dimensionless quantity ranging from 0 (flat) to 1 (spherical). RBCs in plasma or AS showed a biconcave shape with a small sphericity, whereas those in 0.9% NS or PBS showed a spherical shape with a large sphericity. Moreover, we confirmed that sodium chloride alone could not elicit the biconcave shape of RBCs, which could be maintained only in the presence of an osmotic pressure-maintaining substance, such as glucose or mannitol. Although 0.9% NS solution is one of the most commonly used fluids in hematology and transfusion medicine, RBCs in 0.9% NS or PBS are not biconcave. Therefore, as the debate on the use of NS continues, future clinical studies or applications should consider the effect of glucose or mannitol on the shape of RBCs.

This article explores the development directions of the phenomenon of Computational Thinking (CT) from the perspectives of discourse analysis. The motivation is based on the understanding of CT as an advanced educational approach, methodology, and community, aimed at a set of learners’ digital and further competences having a huge impact on modern education and society. The novelty of this study lies in the attempt to look holistically at CT and its perspectives, considering it as an evolving phenomenon per se, leaving aside discussion on its internal characteristics or applications. The study utilizes a comprehensive analysis, applying discourse analysis and social semiotics methods. The results present the most trended storylines associated with CT and its context, providing a thorough introduction to the CT discursive landscape. The findings and discussion present a reflective insight into the discursive landscape directions, focusing on meaning-makers and their identities, the transformative and transductive potential of CT, observing the phenomenon’s development paths from a metaphorical perspective and positioning it towards the development of the socio-technical networks it mediates. In the conclusion, the options for development and possible trends in the reconstitution of the CT phenomenon are outlined.

The ability of rural entrepreneurs to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic greatly depends on their knowledge of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to support online business. In this study, online surveys were conducted to assess the readiness and acceptance of rural entrepreneurs in adopting to the pandemic using the available technologies. Data collected were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics using ANOVA. Online training modules were designed based on their specific needs. Although participants indicated that their frequency and skills of using the electronic devices or applications had generally increased or improved after the training, the increment was not statistically significant (). This indicated that while the participants, to some extent, benefited from the online training provided, there has not been a significant impact on them

Abstract Background Literature reports 5% of recurrence/failure in paediatric accessory pathway ablations. Our aim was to investigate the reasons underlying this finding and share techniques to obtain long-term success. Methods Thirty-nine paediatric patients referred for a repeat procedure were analysed: characteristics of the pathways and the initial and redo procedures were identified. Results Mean age was 11.9 ± 3.3 years (59% males). Three patients (8%) had multiple accessory pathways. The most frequent location was left lateral (26%). Left sided pathway recurrence was caused mainly by poor contact (60%) and inadequate mapping (40%). For right lateral accessory pathways, poor contact accounted for 70% of failures. For antero-septal and para-Hisian locations, the use of cryoablation and choice of low radiofrequency energy delivery accounted for > 75% of failures. Long-term success strategies included choice of contact force catheters and radiofrequency applications at the ventricular insertion of the pathway and in the aortic coronary cusps. In postero-septal substrates, the main reason accounting for failure was deep or epicardial location of the pathway (37%), solved by using an irrigated tip catheter or applying lesions within the coronary sinus, or applications from both right and left postero-septal areas. Conclusion Acute failure and post-procedure recurrence in paediatric accessory pathway ablations have multiple reasons related to the characteristics of the pathway and the technology available. Accurate understanding of the anatomy, careful mapping and pacing manoeuvers, and incorporation of new technologies contribute to achieve a definitive success in > 98% of procedures.

Chitosan is a natural polysaccharide that is considered to be biocompatible, biodegradable and non-toxic. The polymer has been used in drug delivery applications for its positive charge, which allows for adhesion with and recognition of biological tissues via non-covalent interactions. In recent times, chitosan has been used for the preparation of graft copolymers with thermoresponsive polymers such as poly-N-vinylcaprolactam (PNVCL) and poly-N-isopropylamide (PNIPAM), allowing the combination of the biodegradability of the natural polymer with the ability to respond to changes in temperature. Due to the growing interest in the utilization of thermoresponsive polymers in the biological context, it is necessary to increase the knowledge of the key principles of thermoresponsivity in order to obtain comparable results between different studies or applications. In the present review, we provide an overview of the basic principles of thermoresponsivity, as well as a description of the main polysaccharides and thermoresponsive materials, with a special focus on chitosan and poly-N-Vinyl caprolactam (PNVCL) and their biomedical applications.

Studies often portray elite students as self-interested adolescents who justify educational selection systems that favor them. However, this perspective neglects critiques of the college admissions system on the part of the elite, who often have no other option than to support it as fulfilling the ideals of fairness. This study examines academic elite students’ perceptions of college admissions systems when they are given choices as to which system to use. Data for this study come from surveys, interviews, and participant observation in Taiwan, where students are selected through two systems: exam-based selections and application-based selections. The findings show that students in elite high schools perceive whichever system that benefits them to be the fairest. By narrowly defining fairness as family influence on admission outcomes, these students downplay the institutional advantages they enjoy and present themselves as deserving candidates. Using the example of elite Taiwanese students, this study highlights that elites justify privilege based on self-interest and strategically navigate admissions systems to accrue advantages.

Abstract In the design, control, and regulation of the manufacturing and supply of microbiologically controlled devices (including sterile devices) and drug products (including cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization processing and/or aseptic process manufacturing), different terms and/or definitions are often used for similar processes or applications internationally. With product innovations (including combination products and cell-based therapy) and global regulatory influences, there is a growing need to harmonize these definitions. The objective of the Kilmer Regulatory Innovation microbiological quality and sterility assurance glossary is to clarify and harmonize the practical use of terms employed by the different parts of regulated healthcare product industries internationally and by regulators of the manufacturing and supply of microbiologically controlled healthcare products internationally. The glossary is expected to continue to evolve, and further industry, academic, and regulatory input is encouraged.

This study aims to identify and describe the importance of religious and moral values ​​instilled by parents in welcoming society in the 5.0 era. This research is qualitative with library research. A sorting method with two determining elements, children's spiritual and moral values, was used to analyze the data. Researchers explain the data into categories and characteristics. We also limited the data, performed content analysis, and studied the text literature. In the era of society 5.0: 1) parents are advised to educate their children as did Rasulullah (SAW); 2) parents are responsible for children's academic education; 3) parents are encouraged to grow the Rabbani generation (religion-based); 4) parents need to bring up good habits. Due to increasingly sophisticated technological developments, parents must increase their knowledge of this new technology, positively direct digital devices and media, and balance the time in using digital media and real-life interactions. In addition, parents are also encouraged to choose programs or applications that are positive for children that can positively impact their child's growth and development.
