Labor migration abroad has a significant impact on the socio-economic and demographic development of Ukraine. Therefore, awareness of the consequences of the pandemic for migration processes, taking into account the migration component in developing a strategy for overcoming the crisis is extremely important. The article focuses on finding the key answers to adequately respond to migration challenges. The question is: ‘How does the crisis affect the situation of migrants? How does the crisis affect the intensity and direction of migration flows? How will these changes affect the development of the Ukrainian economy and society?’ There is not enough data on the dynamics of modern international migration. Therefore, the review of the hypothetical migration situation, as well as the development of recommendations for possible policy solutions, are based not only on their analysis, but also on generalizing the effects of previous economic crises on migration processes, identification and extrapolation to modern realities of their essential characteristics. During the crisis, the demand for additional labor from abroad is declining, but this leads not so much to the return of migrants to their homeland, as to a decrease in emigration, but rather to its postponement. Not all countries and not all sectors of the economy are experiencing the crisis in the same way, so there is a flow of migrants from one area of employment to another, from the most affected by the crisis countries to more prosperous. It is not so much the power of migration flows that changes, but their direction and characteristics. The return of migrants to Ukraine has not become widespread, it is only temporary, moreover, if the economic situation in the country will deteriorate, and in the countries of destination economic recovery will be successful, labor migration may intensify. Given the continuing labor migration from Ukraine, the state should significantly intensify its efforts to protect the rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens abroad. It is necessary to ensure access of migrants to medical services, social assistance, unemployment benefits, etc., to intensify the negotiation process with the countries of residence of migrant workers. Particular attention needs to be paid to supporting the repatriation flow, which can help reduce the shortage of workers needed by the economy, to serve a faster way out of the crisis.

The article discusses possible combinations of the impact on the dynamics of the population of migration growth (decline) and natural decline (increase). Variants of combinations with the corresponding values of natural and migration movements are shown using examples of the demographic dynamics of Russia. Reliable information about the migration movement of the population refers only to the time that began in the 50s. It is distributed over periods that differ in the nature of the impact of the reproductive and migration components on demographic dynamics. During these periods spanning seventy years, the country's population increased by almost 44 million. In the first 25 years, there was a migration decline, more than offset by natural population growth. Then migration, along with natural movement, acted as a component of population dynamics. Due to natural growth, the population increased to the 1951 level. by 33.8 million people. The migration component accounted for 10.6 million people. Their ratio was 3/4 to 1/4. It is shown that in the second half of the tenth years of the twenty-first century, Russia entered a difficult demographic time for it, aggravated by the fact that by now in the new abroad the migration potential oriented towards Russia has significantly decreased

The production technology of hydrometallurgical zinc uses various surfactants to thicken pulps, stabilise the electrolysis process, and obtain high-quality cathode deposits. Numerous researches were conducted to study the cathodic and anodic processes in a wide range of the composition of aqueous solutions using various solid electrodes in the absence of intense stirring of the electrolyte and with a high contribution of the migration component of the discharge of metals. This approach to the study of the surfactants’ influence rarely provided a high degree of statistical reliability in observing the effect of differently charged surfactants on electrode processes, which is of great importance in the hydrometallurgical production of zinc. In this work, the task was to practically eliminate the contribution of the migration component due to the followingfactors: conducting electrolysis in a background solution of sodium sulphate, organising electrolyte stirring, performing calculations of current densities at the beginning of electrolysis, and establishing polarisation curves at an increased potential sweep rate from 20 to 100 mV/s. This approach provided a greater degree of statistical reliability in presenting the mechanism of the effect of additions of cationic and anionic surfactants during the stage of zinc discharge on a solid electrode, which was the purpose of the article.Electrolysis was conducted in the potential range from -1050 to -1250 mV relative to the silver chloride electrode (AgCl/Ag) in the presence of a background sodium sulphate solution (0.5 M of Na2SO4 solution) containing 0.005, 0.0125, and 0.025 M ZnSO4 with the introduction of high-molecular surfactants: cationic and anionic coagulants (flocculants) and foaming agents (lignosulphonate – LSTP).During the electrolysis in a background solution of sodium sulphate with stirring, it was found that the process of discharge of zinc ions on a solid electrode occurs in a mixed-kinetic mode. It was shown that positively charged additives, such as lignosulphonate and cationic coagulant (flocculant) Besfloc K6645, have a negative effect on the dynamics of zinc cation discharge, while negatively charged Besfloc K4034 has practically no effect. The approach proposed in this work allows evaluating the influence of additions of cationic and anionic surfactants on the stage of zinc discharge on a solid electrode, which was the practical and scientific value of this work

In current research, the regional identity of youth is considered as the most important factor in the preservation and development of the regions’ human capital. Opportunities for the formation of young people’s regional identity based on the adoption of the traditions of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Ugra can affect the migration component in the region and will preserve the intellectual, creative and labor potential of the district. The study analyzes and systematizes regional resources that allow the formation of a sense of involvement of the younger generation in the labor activity of fellow countrymen as a heroic deed, regardless of peaceful or military conditions.

The purpose of the research is to develop methodological bases and principles for assessing the socio-demographic (including migration) consequences of man-made disasters. A method of rapid assessment of possible outgoing migration flows that may occur in the event of a man-made emergency of various scales is proposed. The initial data for this method are quantitative statistical register data on housing stock and population, as well as operational data on the scale of destruction obtained using contactless methods of information collection. The author summarizes the legal acts regulating the work on prevention and elimination of consequences of man-made and other emergencies in Russia, as well as establishing the principles for assessing their consequences. The author proposes a rearrangement of the set of consequences of man-made disasters, including three main directions of the impact of emergency situations on various spheres: demographic (including damage to life and health, as well as the migration component), socio-economic, and natural and environmental. Indicators reflecting the consequences of the disaster have been developed for each of the

Full-waveform inversion (FWI) includes migration and tomography modes. The tomographic component of the gradient from reflection data is usually much weaker than the migration component. To use the tomography mode to fix background velocity errors, it is necessary to extract the tomographic component from the gradient. Otherwise, the inversion will be dominated by the migration mode. We have developed a method based on nonstationary smoothing to extract the tomographic component from the raw gradient. By analyzing the characteristics of the scattering angle filtering, the wavenumber of the tomographic component at a given frequency is seen to be smaller than that of the migration component. Therefore, low-wavenumber-pass filtering can be applied to extract the tomographic component. The low-wavenumber-pass smoothing filters are designed with Gaussian filters that are determined by the frequency of inversion, the model velocity, and the minimum scattering angle. Thus, this filtering is nonstationary smoothing in the space domain. Because this filtering is carried out frequency by frequency, it works naturally and efficiently for FWI based on frequency-domain modeling. Furthermore, because the maximum opening angle of the reflections in a typical acquisition geometry is much smaller than the minimum scattering angle for the tomographic component, which is generally set at 160°, there is a relatively large gap between the wavenumbers of the tomographic and migration components. In other words, the nonstationary smoothing can be applied once to a group of frequencies for time-domain FWI without leaking the migration component into the tomographic component. Analyses and numerical tests indicate that two frequency groups are generally sufficient to extract the tomographic component for the typical frequency range of time-domain FWI. The numerical tests also demonstrate that the nonstationary smoothing method is effective and efficient at extracting the tomographic component for reflection waveform inversion.
