Abstract GeI2 is an interesting two-dimensional (2D) wide-band gap semiconductor because of diminished edge scattering due to an absence of dangling bonds. Angle-resolved x-ray photoemission spectroscopy (ARXPS) indicates a germanium rich surface, and a surface to bulk core-level shift of 1.8 eV in binding energy, between the surface and bulk components of the Ge 2p3/2 core-level, making clear that the surface is different from the bulk. Temperature dependent studies indicate an effective Debye temperature (θD ) of 186 ± 18 K for the germanium x-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS) feature associated with the surface. These measurements also suggest an unusually high effective Debye temperature for iodine (587 ± 31 K), implying that iodine is present in the bulk of the material, and not the surface. From optical absorbance, GeI2 is seen to have an indirect (direct) optical band gap of 2.60 (2.8) ± 0.02 (0.1) eV, consistent with the expectations. Temperature dependent magnetometry indicates that GeI2 is moment paramagnetic at low temperatures (close to 4 K) and shows a diminishing saturation moment at high temperatures (close to 300 K and above).

The research aims to identify the translation shift and describe the equivalence of adjective phrases found in the Jumanji: The Next Level movie and its subtitling. To get the analysis result, translation shift proposed by Catford (1965) and degree of equivalence proposed by Bell (1991) are used in this research. The research is conducted by using descriptive qualitative method in analyzing the data and total sampling technique. The data of this research are 104 English adjective phrases taken from Jumanji: The Next Level movie and their subtitles in Indonesia that is translated by Pein Akatsuki. The results of this research for the types of translation shift are 2 level shift, 59 structure shift, 19 class shift, 22 unit shift, and 2 intra system shift. Meanwhile, the result for the equivalence are 64 complete meaning, 3 increased meaning, 26 decreased meaning, and 11 non equivalent meaning in the category of different meaning.  This current research explores adjective phrase that has not been much discussed by other scholars.

This study is concerned with the analysis of Catford’s formal shifts use in speech act translation from English into Bahasa Indonesia in Kung Fu Panda movie. The analysis covers the use of level shift and category shift on achieving pragmatic equivalence and how the visual-verbal relation happened along with the pragmatic achievement process. This study took documentation and a questionnaire on collecting the data. In this study, a theory from Baker (1992) was applied to analyze pragmatic equivalence achievement. Moreover, the theory from Halliday (1994) in Martinec and Salway (2005) was used to identify visual-verbal relations. The results of the study depicted (1) the use of level shift and category shift were very needed which led to pragmatic equivalence achievement (95,3%). Based on the target readers and expert raters, (2) the visual-verbal relation helped the translator on target text arrangement by providing the context of which the speech act was being uttered. The visual-verbal relation identified in the Kung Fu Panda movie were exposition (12,7%), enhancement (9,3%), extension (5,3%) and locution relation (72,7%). (3) The translator tended to use category shift dominantly (66,67%) for recreating the most suitable target text that was similar to the source text’s pragmatic meaning. The large identification of visual-verbal relation locutionallowed target and expert readers to perceive the meaning lied in speech act only from the word given.

Extending Working Lives (EWLs hereafter) is an important policy goal across many Western countries. This document traces how policy developments have formed the existing EWLs agenda in the UK context. It explores the interrelationship between demographic shifts, policy reform, changing organisational and cultural practices, and technological drivers across groups with diverse life course trajectories. It needs to be borne in mind that UK development is influenced by wider, global influences and shared experiences, such as the OECD level shift toward later retirement pathways. There are also imminent political and cultural changes taking place in the UK which will have an ongoing influence on EWLs, such as the European Union exit. Section 7 provides an overview of the development and framing of policies relevant to EWL, as well as levels of participation. Section 8 focuses on macro national regime characteristics and socio-demographic characteristics across subgroups of older people. Section 9 goes into greater detail on the main inequalities which have a negative impact on EWLs and Section 12 draws on the key policies that impact on EWLs, with consideration of the main inequalities within this.

Introduction: Health care workers are exposed to numerous occupational accidents and injuries, the occurrence of which leads to physical and psychological problems for employees. Accident control is an important factor in reducing risks; Ensuring the health of staff and patients and efforts to prevent occupational accidents, especially in clinical settings. This study was conducted to investigate occupational accidents in three hospitals of Yazd. Materials and Methods: This is a descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study that was conducted in three teaching hospitals in Yazd. A total of 186 non-physicians from different wards of these three hospitals were included in the study by simple stratified random sampling. Data collection was performed using an 18-item occupational accident questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using SPSS21 software using descriptive statistics and Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis statistical tests. Results: Among understudy accidents, exposure to blood or body fluids showed the highest frequency while falling had the lowest frequency. The results showed that there was no relationship between gender and the number and type of accidents, but in some of the accidents, there was a significant relationship between the number and type of accidents, workplace, work experiences, educational level, shift work, and hospital type (p<0.05). Conclusion: Because these accidents occurred at least once in each of the three selected hospitals, it is necessary to prevent these accidents. Regarding the complex nature of hospital accidents and prevention of incidents, management of hospital accidents and prevention of accidents, requires the determination of all staff and management of the hospital organization.

Abstract The Ξ single-particle potential obtained in nuclear matter with the next-to-leading order baryon-baryon interactions in chiral effective field theory is applied to finite nuclei by an improved local-density approximation method. As a premise, phase shifts of ΞN elastic scattering and the results of Faddeev calculations for the ΞNN bound state problem are presented to show the properties of the ΞN interactions in the present parametrization. First, the Ξ states in 14N are revisited because of the recent experimental progress, including the discussion on the ΞN spin-orbit interaction that is relevant to the location of the p-state. Then the Ξ levels in 56Fe are calculated. In particular, the level shift which is expected to be measured experimentally in the near future is predicted. The smallness of the imaginary part of the Ξ single-particle potential is explicitly demonstrated.
