Retail trade occupies an important place in the economy of Ukraine, ensuring the sale of manufactured goods to end consumers. For retailers, it is important to achieve timeliness and reliability of services to meet customer needs, which can be achieved through the formation of operational strategy. The purpose of the article is to form a methodological approach to the development of operational strategy of retail enterprises, which is based on the requirements of corporate strategy, selected in accordance with the stage of the life cycle of the industry. The development of this methodological approach was carried out on the basis of  Hill's model and system approach. As a result, a logical scheme of the process of developing an operational strategy is presented, which is specified by the list of input and output information. In order to determine the stage of the life cycle of the market of retail services in Ukraine, the eponymous concept of Porter was applied and the analysis was carried out according to the criteria: consumers and their behaviour, sales costs, changes in services, the nature of competition, profitability and found that the retail services market is growing. The method of observation, comparative and analytical method was used for the analysis, the Herfindahl-Hirschman index (HHI) was calculated on the basis of the data of the largest retail trade enterprises of Ukraine. As a result, it was found that the market of retail services in Ukraine is growing. With this in mind, an operational strategy for Ukrainian retailers has been proposed, which should aim to ensure the flexibility and variability of the operating system. The defined general direction of the operational strategy will allow to establish the content of decisions on the choice of operational processes, as well as the infrastructure to support them.

Portugal is a country traditionally dedicated to viticulture and characterized by the production of wines of high quality. However, although it continues to be a major player in the world, both in the extension of vineyards and in the production of wine, it is certain that in recent years Portugal have lost market share in these areas. In this context, it is interesting to analyze if this situation could be related to the level of productive efficiency of vineyards. Therefore, the aims of this study are to analyse the farms that are efficiently allocating resources to achieve maximum production and to identify characteristics that make the farm more efficient. In addition, we want to analyse the productive efficiency of the farms from a regional perspective. To achieve this purpose, we use a database collected by face-to-face surveys from a sample of 154 wine-growing farms with specific input-output information from 2017. These farms are locating in the three regions of the North of Portugal (Minho, Douro and Trás-os-Montes), which represents more than 40% of the Portuguese vineyard area. To analyse the productive efficiency of the farms, we use the Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA). The results show that the efficiency level in the wine-growing farms from the North of Portugal is arround 67%, but with significant differences at regional level. Many of these discrepancies may be due to structural factors, such as the type of grape produced in each region. In conclusion, the findings make evident that the most efficient farms are not the most profitable due to the structure of the existing value chain.

Currently, solutions based on the Internet of Things (IoT) concept are increasingly being adopted in several fields, namely, industry, agriculture, and home automation. The costs associated with this type of equipment is reasonably small, as IoT devices usually do not have output peripherals to display information about their status (e.g., a screen or a printer), although they may have informative LEDs, which is sometimes insufficient. For most IoT devices, the price of a minimalist display, to output and display the device’s running status (i.e., what the device is doing), might cost much more than the actual IoT device. Occasionally, it might become necessary to visualize the IoT device output, making it necessary to find solutions to show the hardware output information in real time, without requiring extra equipment, only what the administrator usually has with them. In order to solve the above, a technological solution that allows for the visualization of IoT device information in actual time, using augmented reality and a simple smartphone, was developed and analyzed. In addition, the system created integrates a security layer, at the level of AR, to secure the shown data from unwanted eyes. The results of the tests carried out allowed us to validate the operation of the solution when accessing the information of the IoT devices, verify the operation of the security layer in AR, analyze the interaction between smartphones, the platform, and the devices, and check which AR markers are most optimized for this use case. This work results in a secure augmented reality solution, which can be used with a simple smartphone, to monitor/manage IoT devices in industrial, laboratory or research environments.

Abstract Background Long-term care (LTC) services are a professional service-driven (PSD) system; to deliver appropriate care services to residents, health care providers first need to collect appropriate patient data and make a professional assessment. A well-designed LTC information system should therefore consider the information requirements of multidisciplinary health care providers to adequately support their care services. Objectives This study proposed a modified service blueprint—the PSD service blueprint—for visualizing interdisciplinary service providers' input and output information requirements, which correspond to their service activities. Methods The PSD service blueprint comprises five layers and seven elements. We also present a case study to illustrate the blueprint's application to daily LTC services. Results Our proposed approach could clearly illustrate the daily care activities, service providers (main actors), actors' input and output information, and suggestions for LTC information system–related applications. Conclusion The proposed PSD service blueprint can not only gather interdisciplinary LTC service providers' information system requirements but also act as a mapping tool for visualizing the care service process.

Reproductive traits of white teatfish Holothuria fuscogilva from Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental were investigated from February to July 2020. Gonad samples from 62 adult individuals weighing 1,240g to 5,800g were collected and examined macroscopically and microscopically to determine gonad morphology, sex ratio, gonad maturity, and gonad index. Gonads were composed of numerous branched tubules of varying lengths and frequency of bifurcations arising from the gonad basis. There was no significant variation in the ratio of male to female white teatfish (x2=2.32, α=0.05) and were mostly mature in May (weighing 1,750g–4,000g in males and 2,600g-3,900g in females) with relatively high gonad output. Information on gonad maturation is useful in the development of a successful breeding technology for this economically important sea cucumber species.

The healthcare benefits associated with regular physical activity recognition and monitoring have been considered in several research studies. Regular recognition and monitoring of health status can potentially assist in managing and reducing the risk of many diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity. Using healthcare equipment in hospitals, people can conduct regular physical examinations to check their health status. However, most of the time, it is difficult to reach a specific medical environment and use special medical equipment. In this paper, a deep learning framework based on the bidirectional gated recurrent unit for health status recognition is implemented to improve the accuracy by making full use of the information provided by smartphone acceleration sensors. A model based on a bidirectional gated recurrent unit is constructed to describe the relationship between input acceleration signals and output information through a gating approach. Therefore, it can automatically detect the health status of the sportsman as healthy, subhealthy, and unhealthy. Finally, the practical data collected from an athlete have been used to evaluate the recognition performance of the system. Results show that the proposed methodology can predicate the sports health status accurately.

PurposeThis paper aims to examine the impact of the intangible intensity of the firm on the relevance of research and development (R&D) information to determine equity values in India. Additionally, the study compares the association of input information on R&D investment (the reported R&D cost) and output information on R&D investment (patent count) with equity values. Further, the study also examines the operational nature of the firm and patent count, which is the better proxy to measure the intangible intensity of the firm.Design/methodology/approachThe authors compared the explanatory power of R&D information between intangible and non-intangible intensive firms. To estimate the value relevance of R&D information, the authors followed the statistical model based on the theoretical framework of the residual income model.FindingsThe results indicate that there is a significant moderating impact of the intangible intensity of the firm on the relevance of R&D information to determine equity values in India over the 25 years study period (from 1991 to 2016). Further, in India, the study finds that the input information of R&D outlay is more relevant than output information on R&D outlay to determine equity values, irrespective of the proxy measure of intangible intensity. Moreover, the study finds that the operational nature of the firm is a better proxy of the intangible intensity of the firm compared to patent counts.Research limitations/implicationsIn this study, pooled cross-sectional data were used for analysis. In the future, longitudinal and panel data can be used for more insightful results.Practical implicationsThe findings of the study provide direction to investors and creditors to find the intrinsic value of the investments in internally developed intangible assets, which will reduce the asymmetry between the market value and accounting value of equity.Originality/valueThe paper offers insights into the impact of intangible intensity on the relevance quality of R&D information in an emerging country.

Tofu has the best quality vegetable protein because it has the most complete amino acid composition and is believed to have high digestibility (85% -98%). According to SNI 01-3142-1998 and SII No. 0270-1990 testing criteria for soy tofu based on smell, taste, color, appearance, or texture. Tofu soybeans are prone to physical or texture damage due to factors such as inappropriate pH levels and insufficient storage which results in damaged tofu. Therefore in this study, it is proposed to determine the elasticity of soy tofu with the parameters tested are the pH level in the manufacture of soy tofu, the storage temperature, and the capacitance value to see how thick the tofu is with a capacitive sensor using the capacitor principle. Where the parallel plate capacitor is a capacitor consisting of two parallel metal plates. The test results of all sensors are sent to the database and will be displayed on the page on the Android application which will provide real-time sensor output information to the user. Based on the results of testing on this system using a pH sensor, the pH value is around 3-4 which indicates that the pH level used is very good for use in tofu processing, at pH 4.56 with storage at 29 ° C the highest elastic capacitance value is 3.58.  In testing data delivery, the throughput value is 4336,217 b / s and the smallest delay value is 0.017ms because the smaller the delay value, the better the quality of data transmission because there will be no delay in sending data.

This paper investigates variations of zero offset of MEMS sensors under thermal hysteresis conditions. An experiment was carried out to study the characteristics of zero offset at a constant ambient temperature, abrupt (2 degrees per minute) heating up and abrupt cooling down. A method for identifying zero offset component dependent on thermal dynamics is described. A calibration methodology for this component is proposed for the initial zero offset and zero drift under different thermal dynamics conditions. Application of said methodology is considered for two output information options: direct gyroscope and accelerometer readout and navigation system parameters based thereon (orientation, linear velocities and coordinates).
