Abstract The purpose of this research is to examine the key content factors of short videos and their influence on parents’ attitudes, behavioural intentions and consideration of alternatives in the education sector. In particular, the current study is the first to explore elements of online short videos (informative content, user interactivity, perceived usefulness, trust, entertainment and invasiveness) as predictors of parents’ attitudes toward, consideration of and intention to choose a nursery school. Using a sample of 178 participants, a conclusive research design applying structural equation modelling was employed to assess the effect of the aforementioned short videos’ key characteristics on attitude, intention and consideration. According to the results, short videos with informative and trusted content tend to enhance parents’ attitudes, consideration and behavioural intentions regarding the provider being promoted. Attitude is also affected by entertainment, while perceived usefulness, interactive features and lack of invasiveness increase scores pertaining to inclusion of alternatives in parents’ consideration choice sets and expression of intentions to ultimately select them. Managers in childcare operators should find a delicate balance among the aforementioned elements in order to include the appropriate ones into their videos depending on the promotional goals or indented outcomes and the targeted audience. Managerial implications and suggestions for future research are thoroughly discussed.

Abstract This article focuses on the location of the duty of loyalty—a unique legal norm in Common Law jurisdictions—both actual and desirable, on the continuum between rules and standards. A rule is a relatively ‘closed’ technical norm, at a high level of specificity; it requires little judicial discretion. A standard is an ‘open’ norm, with a greater degree of flexibility, that requires the exercise of discretion. The insights from this jurisprudential perspective are used to reveal the preferred way for further developing the duty of loyalty. The article explains that ‘loyalty,’ intuitively classified as a ‘pure’ standard, has been reconstructed over time as more specific rules. Moreover, it suggests that, ideally, this movement should continue; namely, when applying loyalty to a specific case, courts should include informative content that would promote predictability. It then illustrates that, unfortunately, this road is not always taken by the courts. A decision to retain loyalty as an ad hoc standard, or an inverse attempt to delineate the boundaries of this norm, has implications on the certainty, consistency, and ethical content of the law. Considering that this duty spreads across different legal fields, personal and commercial, the significance of this discussion becomes all the more evident.

The intent of this research is to come up with an automated web scraping system which is capable of extracting structured data records embedded in semi-structured web pages. Most of the automated extraction techniques in the literature captures repeated pattern among a set of similarly structured web pages, thereby deducing the template used for the generation of those web pages and then data records extraction is done. All of these techniques exploit computationally intensive operations such as string pattern matching or DOM tree matching and then perform manual labeling of extracted data records. The technique discussed in this paper departs from the state-of-the-art approaches by determining informative sections in the web page through repetition of informative content rather than syntactic structure. From the experiments, it is clear that the system has identified data rich region with 100% precision for web sites belonging to different domains. The experiments conducted on the real world web sites prove the effectiveness and versatility of the proposed approach.

Students are considered to have an important role in providing health information and education to the public by compiling appropriate narratives and informative content related to the management of Covid-19 and handling hoax busters. The concept of health belief model is a health belief model with 4 (four) main concepts, namely perceived susceptibility, perceived seriousness, perceived benefits, and perceived barriers. This study aims to describe and analyze the relationship of four (4) health belief model components with the prevention behavior of Covid-19 in health students. This research method uses a descriptive-analytic design with a correlation study approach. The sample used in this study amounted to 97 students with a sampling technique that is probability sampling cluster sampling. The results of the health belief model components that have a relationship with Covid-19 prevention behavior in respondents are the perceived susceptibility component with p-value=0.000 (p<0.05), the perceived severity component with p-value=0.000 (p<0.05), and the perceived benefit component. with p-value=0.0002 (p<0.05). The component that has no relationship with the respondent's Covid-19 prevention behavior is the perceived barriers component with a p-value=0.28 (p>0.05).

TikTok is a video-sharing social network that has abruptly gained popularity for the past few years due to its unique feature of short-form videos on various genres particularly comedy and performance. The videos produced from this platform have been used widely in multiple contexts including classroom teaching. Thus, this project delved into the role of TikTok in capturing students’ attention and introducing them to new vocabulary during English language class through some selected videos from the app. Most students could barely pay attention to their teachers during physical classes or online lessons. This could possibly hinder them from participating actively in classroom activities. Due to the nature of TikTok videos that are shorter in duration with humorous yet informative content, these videos might serve as engaging teaching materials. The results showed that the students displayed improved level of attention, interest and understanding of the subject matter that was being taught in class through TikTok videos. It is recommended that more studies should be done to analyze the multiple types and genres of TikTok videos and how these variables influence students’ learning.

The purpose of the article is to scientifically reconstruct the epistolary dialogue of P. Kulish with the mother of his wife Oleksandra Bilozerska – mother-in-law – Motrona Bilozerska. The research methodology is based primarily on the methods of archival and source studies, as well as on biographical and historical analysis (for the reconstruction of P. Kulish’s life and creative path and reproduction of chronological boundaries of correspondence between addressees), on the prosopographical method aimed at expanding and deepening biographical material by taking into account the human and personal in history. The scientific novelty lies in the analysis of the private correspondence between P. Kulish and M. Bilozerska. The letters are based on autograph copies stored in the Central State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art of Ukraine (Kyiv). Some of them are published for the first time. Conclusions. As a result of the correspondence analysis, the author of the article concludes that the image of P. Kulish emerges from the pages of these letters as a caring and loving husband, a good manager, a respectful son-in-law. The addressee embodies “everything worldly”. The letters of P. Kulish to M. Bilozerska also recorded biographical information, which is a valuable addition to the already known facts about the life of the Kulish- Bilozerska family at that time and to his own prosopographical portrait. As a rule, the writer’s letters to his mother-in-law are characterised by informative content because they were addressed to the family member. Besides, at that time, it was one of the most important means of communication. In the analysed correspondence, from the point of view of genre typology, the article singles out letters-requests, letters-confessions, letters-descriptions. In letters to his mother-in-law, the writer discussed with her not only everyday things using lyrical digressions, landscape descriptions, but also philosophical issues. This indicates the spiritual connection and high cultural awareness of the writer and his mother-in-law, who carried on correspondence presented in the article. Letters are submitted in the original language, with only minor spelling corrections.

The article dwells upon specific features and peculiar methods of teaching a foreign language to preschoolers which will contribute to their social communicative development. The authors emphasize a stage character of this process distinguishing the initial phonetic stage, the second lexical stage and the final evaluative and reflective stage. The enhancement of phonetic, lexical and speech skills stipulates such forms of classwork arrangements as individual, paired and choral, each with its advantages and functions. For this age group, an analytico-imitative method has been recognized as the most effective one: cognitive imitation and reproduction are the basic forms of learning. In this respect, the content of the material intended for cognitive imitation has to be valuable, informative and thought-provoking. Special genres have to be found and applied to motivate children to learn and take part in activities: songs, counting rhymes, poems, fairy-tales and games. Children should be constantly involved into the emotionally appealing canvas of the lesson. The results of the research show that emotional impact, exciting forms of presentation and the informative content of the material increase preschoolers’ self-consciousness about their progress, create positive motivation and push forward their cognitive, communicative and social development.

Abstract Background Effective use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by hospital staff is critical to prevent transmission of COVID-19. This study examines hospital staff confidence in and knowledge of effective PPE use, and their preferences for learning about PPE practices. Methods Three isolation precautions signs were created for use in the care of those with or under investigation for COVID-19 infection: first, a special respiratory precautions sign designed by infection control; and next, two signs outlining proper donning and doffing practices – one created internally with the support of health literacy, and another developed with a design firm (IDEO) using principles of human-centered design (Figure 1). All signs were used for ≥ 10 weeks prior to distribution of a questionnaire (REDCap) to clinical and non-clinical hospital staff. Those who had not worked on hospital units during the pandemic (after March 15, 2020) were excluded. The 38-item survey was sent by supervisors over email between July 14-31, 2020, and examined demographics, confidence in and knowledge of PPE best practices, and preferences for each precaution sign with regards to trustworthiness, ease of following, informative content, and clarity of image/layout. Responses were reported using descriptive statistics. A non-parametric test of trends compared staff preferences across signs. Logistic regression examined the association between answering all knowledge-based questions correctly and staff role and confidence in PPE practices (Stata). Results Of the 531 respondents, 461 were eligible for inclusion. The majority were female, white, and not high risk for COVID-19 (Table 1). Most were confident about PPE use, correctly answered questions examining knowledge of PPE best practices, and found PPE signage helpful (Table 2). Staff preferred the professionally designed sign for informative content (p< 0.01) and clear imagery/layout (p=0.01) (Table 3). Confidence in PPE practices and physician or nurse roles were associated with answering all knowledge-based questions correctly (p< 0.001 and p=0.04, respectively). Conclusion In a convenience sample of hospital staff, most were confident and knowledgeable about PPE use, found PPE signage helpful, and preferred professionally designed signs.
