Homosexualism is behaviour or a phenomenon in which individuals of the same sex are attracted to or have sexual relations with each other. In India, homosexuality is a taboo subject. Much research has not been conducted to understand the attitude of Indian youth towards homosexuality. The aim of the present research was to measure the implicit attitude, and a comparative analysis between the contact group (those who are in contact with homosexual individuals) and the non-contact group (those who neither know nor are in touch with homosexual individuals) was conducted. Implicit Association Test (Greenwald, McGhee, Schwartz, 1998) was used to gauge the implicit attitude towards homosexual individuals. 100 (50 males and 50 females) undergraduate and graduate students of Delhi and NCR were taken as sample in the study. It has been highlighted through various studies that people might show a positive or a neutral attitude towards homosexuality but unconsciously it may not always be the case. The contact hypothesis (Allport, 1954) suggests that the prejudice against homosexuals can be mitigated by encouraging interpersonal contact between non-homosexual and homosexual population. The findings of this study suggests that the contact group held a positive attitude towards homosexuals (30 out of 50), while the non-contact group held a negative one (40 out of 50).

The content of the article is aimed at a comparative analysis of the level of formation of educational motivation of students in accordance with the development of digital technologies. The digitalization process will make it possible to teach students in higher educational institutions remotely and in traditional form, providing for the development of human capital. Recent experience shows that 75 % of students are proficient in using digital tools, but academic motivation to study online is low. Our research was aimed at identifying the features of the change in the level of educational motivation of students in distance online learning compared to full-time education. A comparative analysis of the features of the formation of students' motivation using psychodiagnostic methods is carried out. The results of a study of 125 university students showed that the motivation of students to study remotely differs for a number of reasons. The article describes the pedagogical and psychological factors that contribute to the formation of educational motivation of students in a digital environment, and provides a quantitative analysis of the research results.

The present report addresses a topic that is a key factor for the quality of the education in universities. The outcome this education depends on the degree of students’ academic motivation and results in their readiness for certain profession. The material presents the results from a study conducted in the period 2016-2019 among 45 students in their second and third year of studies in the subject „Physical Education and Sport“ at the Sofia University „St. Kliment Ohridski“ Faculty of Science, Education and Arts and 39 students also studying „Physical Education“ but at the National Sports Academy „Vasil Levski“ Faculty of Pedagogy. As a research tool, was used a questionnaire designed for determining the academic motivation, developed by Angel Velichkov. The questionnaire contained 11 questions, of which 7 with positive and 4 with negative direction. The assessment was done through the 4-point Likert scale, where 0 is „completely disagree” and 3 is „completely agree”. In his work A. Velichkov places the degree of academic motivation within the following limits: 0-11 points – lack of academic motivation; 12-18 points – weak motivation; 19-24 points – moderate motivation, 25-33 points – strong academic motivation. The summaries are made both on universities and on each individual indicator for academic motivation, including: „Active attitude to the learning process“, „Internal self-discipline“ and „Strive to complement and broaden the obtained knowledge“. To determine the priorities of young people, we divided their statements that received the highest percentage of opinions „agree“ on the positively formulated questions and „disagree“ on the negative ones. The comparative analysis shows that the overall degree of academic motivation is not high among students from both Universities. However, students in both universities are convinced that active involvement in the learning process is required. Students are aware of the importance of the theoretical background they need to acquire during their studies. They are motivated to gain lasting knowledge and excellence in all subjects studied. Young people indicate that they complement and broaden their knowledge by seeking additional information and by consultations with university professors.

The article considers the arguments about the need to rethink the concept of athletes’ psychological training for the competition. The idea of the article is the shift to the teaching the means of individual psychological training of athletes for the competition. The accuracy of this concept is grounded on the empirical data. The article presents the data of the comparative analysis of employing by athletes the means of psychological training for the competition and opinion of coaches about it. The authors explain the reasons why coaches do not prepare football players psychologically in the process of physical, technical, and tactical training. 5 reasons to explain it are considered in the article. In the process of coaches’ training they are taught to regulate the psychological condition and behavior of athletes, but they are not taught how to train the athletes to do that themselves. The necessity of training football players in the means of self-regulation of their psychological condition for the matches has been proved.

The present chapter describes the comparative analysis of the implementation of English as a medium of instruction in Kazakhstan and other non-English speaking countries by presenting a small-scale study of revealing the attitudes of graduate students and lecturers towards EMI in Kazakhstan. Compared to other countries, Kazakhstan has a number of similar issues in the implementation of English as a medium of instruction, which creates the possibility of performing a practice based on the experience of others. The research on English as a medium of instruction has revealed that EMI in Kazakhstan is in need of further guidance and investigation.

The purpose of this chapter is to examine the academic motivation and self-discipline of online learners and how online academic strategies can translate to the modern-day workforce in the post-pandemic world. The chapter examines digital learning trends and skills students need to prepare them for online learning, such as self-directedness. It discusses the difference between motivation and self-discipline. It also covers strategies specific for different types of learners, such as undergraduate students, graduate students, first-generation students, students with disabilities, and students from underrepresented populations. It provides tips for various levels of educators to support student motivation and self-discipline in the online environment. It also provides tips for students themselves to address their own motivation and self-discipline strategies, such as eliminating distractions, setting goals, using technology effectively, and developing a routine. The chapter concludes with suggestions of how to implement these online academic skills into the workplace.

This is a study of regulatory and motivational predictors of student procrastination. Students procrastinate more than young specialists. With age, procrastination decreases due to self-regulation, but procrastination has negative effects, so it is important to determine its predictors. Probably they will become motivation and self-regulation. For the diagnosis of the studied psychological characteristics were used self-reporting method. The study involved 198 students aged 17 to 24 years (M = 19.47; SD = 1.55), students in 1–4 courses, of which 65 % were girls. The results obtained indicate a negative relationship of procrastination with selfregulation and internal academic motivation, a positive one — with motivation. The features of changes in the severity of procrastination, self-regulation and educational motivation from junior to senior are revealed. It has been established that the most significant contribution to the level of procrastination is made by such functional components of self-regulation as programming and modeling.

The authors present their analysis of data obtained in the longitudinal study on the specifics of the regulatory, intrapersonal and motivational characteristics of adolescents with positive dynamics of psychological well-being. The sample consisted of the Russian schoolchildren (N = 98) examined twice with 1-year interval: in the 5th, then in the 6th grade. Diagnostics of the psychological well-being level by means of the Well-Being Manifestation Measure Scale allowed to distinguish a group of students characterized by the positive dynamics of well-being at a given period of time (N = 75). The features of self-regulation, attitudes towards learning, academic motivation, and personality characteristics of these students were then identified and described. Conscious self-regulation was assessed using Morosanova’s Self-Regulation Profile of Learning Activity Questionnaire. It was shown that self-regulation in this group of children is characterized by a harmonious profile with well-developed regulatory processes. The specifics of academic motivation were analyzed using the Scales of Academic Motivation of Schoolchildren. It was established that intrinsic motivation, despite a slight overall decrease in the level of educational motivation at this period of schooling, stably exceeds the level of ineffective external types of educational motives in the motivational profile of these children. Considering the specifics of personality traits (according to the results of the Big Five Questionnaire — Children version method) revealed that pupils with positive dynamics of psychological well-being are characterized by high values of extraversion, conscientiousness, agreeableness, and openness to experience, accompanied by the low neuroticism level. The results obtained indicate a positive trajectory of the subjective activity formation in these adolescents and their successful adaptation to the changing educational environment.

The Web provides unprecedented opportunities for Web site operators to implicitly and explicitly gather highly detailed personal data about site visitors, resulting in a real and pressing threat to privacy. Approaches to protecting such personal data differ greatly throughout the world. To generalize greatly, most countries follow one of two diametrically opposed philosophies—the self-regulation approach epitomized by the United States, or the comprehensive omnibus legislative approach mandated by the European Union. In practice, of course, the situation is not so black and white as most countries utilize elements of both approaches. This chapter explains the background and importance of protecting the privacy of personal data, contrasts the two major philosophical approaches to protection mentioned above, performs a comparative analysis of the current situation throughout the world, and highlights how the legislative approach is being adopted as the de facto standard throughout the world. The use of trust marks as an alternative to the self-regulation or legislative approach is also discussed, while the effectiveness of each of these efforts is also examined.
