In accordance with the results of conducted research there were figured out the content, hierarchy, intensity of motives and their possibility to be implemented in servicemen with various levels of effectiveness of service activity. 8435 male servicemen participated in the research, they equally presented all the operational and territorial military unifications and units of the National Guard of Ukraine. Each unit proportionately presented officers as well as military personnel under contract who included the participants of hostilities and those who did not have such experience. Examination of various aspects of servicemen motivation was conducted with the help of the following the methods which were standardized being based on the Ukrainian selection “Close Questionnaire of Examining the Motivation of Professional Choice Made by Applicants of the Ministry of Internal Affairs”, “Questionnaire of Estimation of the Effectiveness of Military Tasks’ Execution by Servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine”, questionnaire on “Sense-Bearing and Life Orientations”, the methods of “Studying the Motivational Profile of Personality”, and “Locus of Control”. There was conducted the cluster analysis which gave the possibility to figure out six motivational types connected with the effectiveness of servicemen operational activity. Motivational types were located between the poles which were introduced by two dimensions: self-efficacy (autonomous and controlled motivation) and motivation of helping others (motivations of public service - selfishness). Those motivational types of servicemen were the following: motivated by public service, stagnant, prosocial, romantic, deficient, and dependent. Distinguished types included the content, hierarchy, intensity of motives and their possibility to be implemented.

Abstract Background High levels of moderate-to-vigorous intensity physical activity (MVPA) are strongly associated with sustained weight loss, however the majority of adults are unsuccessful in maintaining high levels of MVPA long-term. Our goal was to identify profiles based on exercise motives, and examine the association between motivational profile and longitudinal changes in MVPA during a weight loss intervention. Methods Adults with overweight or obesity (n = 169, mean ± SE; age 39 ± 0.7 years, BMI 34.4 ± 0.3 kg/m2, 83% female) underwent an 18-month behavioral weight loss program, including 6 months of supervised exercise, followed by 6 months of unsupervised exercise. Participants self-reported behavioral regulations for exercise at baseline (BREQ-2). Latent profile analysis identified subgroups from external, introjected, identified, and intrinsic regulations measured at baseline. Mean differences in device-measured total MVPA were compared across motivational profiles at baseline, after 6 months of supervised exercise and after a subsequent 6 months of unsupervised exercise. Results Three motivational profiles emerged: high autonomous (high identified and intrinsic, low external regulations; n = 52), high combined (high scores on all exercise regulations; n = 25), and moderate combined (moderate scores on all exercise regulations; n = 92). Motivational profile was not associated with baseline level of MVPA or the increase in MVPA over the 6-month supervised exercise intervention (high autonomous: 21 ± 6 min/d; high combined: 20 ± 9 min/d; moderate combined: 33 ± 5 min/d; overall P > 0.05). However, during the transition from supervised to unsupervised exercise, MVPA decreased, on average, within all three profiles, but the high autonomous profile demonstrated the least attenuation in MVPA (− 3 ± 6 min/d) compared to the moderate combined profile (− 20 ± 5 min/d; P = 0.043). Conclusions Results were in alignment with the Self-Determination Theory. Adults motivated by autonomous reasons (value benefits of exercise, intrinsic enjoyment) may be more likely to sustain increases in MVPA once support is removed, whereas participants with moderate-to-high scores on all types of exercise regulations may need additional long-term support in order to sustain initial increases in MVPA. Clinical trial registration NCT01985568. Registered 24 October 2013.

The article deals with reflexive analysis of the peculiarities of the correlation of the components of value-orientation and motivational spheres of man. The formation of the individual as a full member and co-creator of the surrounding reality is characterized by a stable system of internal motives – motivational aspirations, taking into account social requirements and a personified system of values. The result of the interaction between man and the world is the discovery of a person’s synthesized expression of cost priorities or clear orientations and motives on the path to self-improvement. The complex and multi-faceted structure of value-orientation and motivational components of the individual involves a conscious progression to the implementation of a significant number of strategies, principles, criteria and parameters of their research. Therefore, it is expedient to use a systematic approach to the knowledge of the value orientations of man in the relationship of his personality and social guidance, creating a motivational field of its activity. On the basis of empirical search, types of value-motivational profile of respondents were distinguished: progressive, regressive, impulsive, expressive, trivial. It is proved that value orientations of a person are formed under the influence of conscious choice of cost priorities and are manifested in the through motive of committing. Valuable orientations are the basis for realizing the personality of rational choice of approaches and principles in achieving positive (from the evaluative positions of the person himself) results of his actions, whereas the process or procedure of this choice is based on the motives that determine the tools (means, forms, mechanisms and methods) of direct activity . Personality is guided by the choice of strategies for self-improvement, mainly by a system of values, which, transforming into a person’s value orientations, produce its motives-the desire for full self-realization under the actual conditions of situational everyday life.

The article is devoted to the analysis and empirical study of the most promising developmental tasks of the modern educational environment for the development of new approaches to the organization and psychological support of the development of a person's productive activity. These tasks clearly demonstrate the relationship between the motivational sphere of the individual and the social environment, the effectiveness of the influence of social factors on the development of the individual, the importance of studying their hierarchization according to the degree of influence. The relevance of the research lies in the fact that the study of the possibility of a targeted impact through social factors, norms, requirements on the motivational-need sphere of a developing personality will allow to determine to a large extent, the direction of its development. Our research is based on the assumption that the analysis of the motivational profile will allow us to understand how student youth comes to the realization of the need to coordinate the goals, requirements, wishes of the external environment with their own motivation. The aim of the study was to study the influence of the individual's objective attitudes on the structure of professional activity motives. To solve the set tasks, the following methods were used: the motivational profile of S. Ritchie and P. Martin, the test "20 statements". The results obtained by the method of S. Ritchie and P. Martin confirmed our hypothetical assumption, the respondents predominantly chose the objective components of the motivational structure, which were substantively related to the social expectations of the subjects (from society to themselves). The results obtained confirmed the prospects of studying the influence of social factors on the development of the motivational-need-related sphere of the individual. The analysis of social factors makes it possible to study and model the conditions that contribute to the rethinking of the actual situation by the individual and the creation of new meanings of activity that provide for a wider non-utilitarian social context that goes beyond the current situation.

The specifics of research and academic profession presuppose special approaches to personnel management and motivation. The selection of adequate motivational tools is often done by trial and error. The paper attempts to substantiate short-term and long-term methods of motivating scientific personnel. The experiment featured the case of a Russian biotechnological company, whose personnel underwent S. Ritchie and P. Martin’s Motivational Profile Test. The dominant factors of job satisfaction included self-development opportunities, recognition, ambitious goals, creative tasks, etc. The authors developed some ways for the further development of methods for motivating research personnel.

The number of transnational education (TNE) higher education institutions (HEI) around the globe is on the rise. This study attempts to examine the motivational profiles of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) learners at a TNE university in Mainland China that uses English as the medium of instruction (EMI). Participants (N = 300) were primarily first- and second-year students enrolled in EAP classes. The study relied on an adapted version of a motivational questionnaire (Taguchi et al., 2009) to measure some of the most commonly researched motivation constructs. Findings suggest that these students had relatively strong Ideal L2 Selves, were confident in their linguistic abilities, viewed learning EAP as being beneficial for their lives, and desired to integrate with or become like members of their respective academic or professional communities. No meaningful significant differences were found between the motivational profiles of male and female students. This Work-in-Progress study serves as an initial step towards understanding the motivational profiles of EAP learners within the TNE EMI context.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the influence of personnel motivation on organizational culture. An effective system of motivation contributes to the achievement of high productivity in the organization and to the effectiveness of the company. The study substantiates that the system of motivation of the organization's personnel has a direct impact on its organizational culture. A method for determining the motivational profile of the company is proposed. It allows to determine the level of both material and non-material motivation of employees. It is proved that in Ukraine material motivation is of the greatest importance for employees. The relationship between the level of non-material motivation in the organization and the level of its organizational culture is studied. Measures are proposed to possibly improve the system of non-material motivation of personnel, which will increase the level of organizational culture of the company.

The objective of this paper is to identify the relationship between the dimensions of performance motivation and value preferences of project managers in large companies. To examine the relationship, it was first necessary to find out what the value system of project managers is and what their motivational profile is. The research took the form of a questionnaire survey in large Czech companies, which belong to CZ-NACE C. Standardized questionnaires were used for data collection. The PVQ questionnaire was used to determine the value system and the LMI questionnaire was used to determine the motivational profile. Data were evaluated by using descriptive statistics and relationships were evaluated by using Person's correlation coefficient. Student's t-test was used to verify statistical significance. It was found that the analyzed values in the set of respondents are almost the same, all analyzed values are perceived by the respondents as significant. The most represented value among the respondents is benevolence and the least represented is tradition. We identified identical findings in the case of analysis of performance motivation. Of the four dimensions of motivation examined, the project managers addressed confidence in success to be the most important. A statistically significant relationship was found between commitment and power and success, between flexibility and stimulation, universalism and benevolence, between self-control and power, success, conformity and safety, and between confidence in success and power, success and stimulation. Doi: 10.28991/esj-2021-01282 Full Text: PDF
