This paper examines the social construction of marriage migration in Vietnamese online media. We present a content analysis of 643 items published online between 2000 and 2010 on international marriages between Vietnamese women and foreign Asian men. Our analysis reveals that online media content speaks to four important shifts discussed in Vietnamese studies: (1) shifts in notions of gender, sexuality, and marriage; (2) emerging discourses around class-making; (3) emerging discourse on human trafficking; and (4) shifting roles of the media.

This article seeks to question the emphasis on critical reading in media education curricula, both in terms of the assumptions about children's existing knowledge which it entails and in terms of its implications for classroom practice. The first part of the article draws on recent research on children's understanding of television, and considers the social functions of critical discourses about the medium. Summarising findings from the author's research, it points to the inter-relationships between cognitive, affective and social factors in children's talk. The second part of the article draws on recent classroom research in the field to consider the processes by which children acquire critical discourses about the media, and the limitations of a purely analytical approach. The article concludes by arguing for the need to develop a more complex theoretical basis for media education pedagogy, based on the interaction between critical analysis and other teaching strategies.

This article analyses the different meanings of the citizenship concept (political, legal, social, economic, ecological and intercultural) in order to justify the current media citizenship concept, which is particularly useful and valid for media education. The ultimate goal is to rebuild the social, ethical and political dimension of educommunication on a practical and philosophical foundation. With this in mind, we have analysed two very powerful and current ap proaches, the ethics of dialogue and ability, mainly because of their links to communication and their contribution to the human development concept, which is on the media education agendas of international organizations such as UNESCO or the European Commission. From the philosophical foundation proposed, the criteria for evaluating and reconstructing the practical dimension of educommunication are: civic participation, freedom as development and critical autonomy, which are also considered goals of the educational systems in pluralistic and democratic societies, especially from a model of deliberate and participatory democracy. The paper concludes with a positive evaluation of interdisciplinary approach in the study of media education, an educational project that is crucial for the revival of civil society and the empowerment of citizens in the current communicative context.

They made it possible to directly integrate the user into virtual narratives, turning them from a passive recipient into an actor. The importance of gamification as a tool for building strategies of internal stimulation with elements of entertaining practices in the dynamics of learning is also revealed, which increases the effectiveness of education. It has been revealed the significant educational potential of video games as a promising media platform in the framework of the implementation of the Digital Game Based Learning strategy. They can act both as carriers of knowledge and as a virtual environment for the formation of competencies in the field of history, economics, literature and social management. It is unarguably true that one of the social institutions from which children need protection is the media. This is because some media content violates and poses a harmful influence on their development. The media has been accused of being weak in protecting the rights of Nigerian children from the standpoint of the content it disseminates. This chapter focuses on the power of the media to advocate for the child's rights and shape the childhood process through its content. The study discovered that media outlets are not predisposed to reporting issues regarding child rights but rather place more attention on entertainment programmes that attract big sponsors. The study recommends that media content should focus on promoting child rights issues in Nigeria.

The media and its use in the educational process, which has global importance, are the twenty-first century's challenge. In the pedagogical process, media education is addressed to each child within the context of any subject, ensuring the academic subject's required objectives and successful instructional activity, as well as the final results. Media is a tool in the pedagogical process for early learning games, aesthetic education, language skills, and mathematics, religion or ethics. It is not enough to have the developed equipment to use the media. In elementary school, the classroom equipped with appropriate media is more attractive for the students; it will facilitate the educational, developing and upbringing process and make it more stimulating. For the development of imagination, creativity, and independent search skills in elementary school, the supervised use of media during the educational process is particularly important. The media equipment is selected in accordance with the secondary school's curriculum, with targets set and the experience evaluated regularly. The controlled use of technological equipment is necessary in this case. Students' cognitive and artistic skills might be harmed by excessive media use in elementary school. It is justified that today's primary school students are extremely informed due to the media, their thinking skills are more developed. Today, there is a need for parent-teacher support processes for the child, strict content control, and pedagogical guidance from computer & Internet prevention. The use of technologies in the educational process is one of the urgent problems of modern pedagogy. The introduction of media technology in primary school has both advantages and disadvantages. Media education helps students navigate the information. They contribute to the development of positive motivation for learning, activate the cognitive, research and creative activities of younger schoolchildren, but can harm their health and negatively affect their worldview. The fact is that the 21st century is the age of high technologies. Therefore, education, which provides a high level of general knowledge, should be replaced by education focused on the creative development of each student's personality. Therefore, today it is necessary to revise the content of higher education, methods and types of education, that is, to apply pedagogical innovation.
